Not Your Father's ECCO - I've had 5 pairs of ECCO and am getting ready to replace the pair that I purchased last year. Alas, I'll be getting another brand. The first three pairs that I purchased were made in Europe and wore like iron. The last two pairs have ripped at the toe and lasted less than one year. I suspected that something was up, so I contacted ECCO and they confirmed that the shoes are now made elsewhere. They are also not made to ECCO's previous standards. It's true that they are comfortable, and I wish that I could recommend them. My last two pairs, however, just haven't lasted. Too bad...

Not like they were- I bought a pair of these shoes (in brown) about 10 years ago and still wear them. They're about the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned. I wanted a pair in black and spoke with the Zappos sales guy. He indicated that Ecco shoes run wide and the "medium" should fit my wide foot (7-1/2 EEEE). I got them right away (thanks to Zappos' fine shipping organization) and tried them but they are entirely too narrow for my foot. I think Ecco "medium" means medium. Too bad because the shoe sure looks good.

Not happy with this shoes - I always bought ecco cross shoes for me and my husband to use at work. I would always buy them and dillards, this time I bought the Ecco Seawalkers for my husband to use at work and now he says they are the most uncomfortable pair of shoes he has ever worn, and he will not be using them again because he works 14 hour days and he simply cannot afford to have uncomfortable shoes while working.

Poorly constructed. After a few months of normal wear (not daily), the stitching on the toes began to unravel and the seams loosened, ultimately separating and exposing my sock/toe.

My husband had these shoes for just a little under six months and they have been worn only occasionally-I would guess less than 15 times and as another reviewer mentioned, the sole is pulling apart. Obviously a design flaw or inferior material being used. This is unacceptable for an expensive shoelike the Ecco SeaWalker.

These are beautiful at first. Unfortunately if you do not wear them regularly, the composite material in the sole will decompose and just crumble and shred. This happened with three pairs of mine, twice away from home. I've switched to Brooks Addiction Walkers and they are also excellent without the shedding problem. I contacted Ecco and they said it's not their problem. Unfortunately the soles cannot be replaced locally by shoe repair agencies. No more Ecco for me.

Very disappointed in these. Poor quality with no support - my feet were killing me after a six block walk. And regardless of what they claim, this is not real leather but some sort of vegetable-plastic product. Sad to see Ecco quality continue to decline as most of their products are now made in China. Avoid this shoe.

I like the look ok, but the soles seem to become hard after a few weeks of wear and I am not a heavy person so I don't understand. They seem to be made good except the one flaw, they were cushioned at first but not enough as the cushion seemed to flatten out and the shoe was then hard when walking. Kind of felt like Rockports only not as good. These are just not quite there.

Ecco SeaWalker - This shoe does not have the comfort as everybody says. I found it very hard on the bottom after you break it in. The sole looks like it would be, but its not. I am a producer/Director in broadcasting on my feet 12-15 hours a day, and this does not have it. I went back to Mephistos. Sorry Ecco.

Bad fit - I had a pair of ECCO walkers for many years, until the soles fell apart. They were great shoes. The new ones look good but are not a good fit and do not have good inner sole support. The width at the area of the big toe is not wide enough, and causes pain. I plan to give the shoes to a homeless shelter. These are not in the tradition of the "old" Ecco shoes.

Ecco Seawalker Tie - Bought the Seawalker for the look, but I have only worn them once or twice because they are extremely uncomfortable. Too narrow. I have 2 other pairs of Ecco, Freewalker and Neoflexor, that are extremely comfortable shoes. Do no recommend the Seawalker for anyone with wide feet.
