I actually got this dress boot for historical reenacting purposes due to its close resemblance to dress boots of the 40's. It is absolutely phenomenal and classy. It's something I like to wear out on a nice date, semi-formal occasion, or really whenever I aim to impress. I have already highly recommended this to my other reenacting buddies and anyone I know wanting to step their game up. Thank you Stacy Adams!

They're distinctive, stylish, and to say they fit like a glove would be an understatement - most gloves I've owned aren't this comfortable.
I tend to be really hard on a pair of shoes - I walk everywhere, and have a tendency to go through (or climb over) things that maybe I shoulda oughta gone around. So I can attest to the durability of the Madisons - while they may look a little the worse for wear (in particular, road salt does a real number on the leather), my "walking-around" pair has held together longer than some hiking boots I've owned, with no more maintenance needed than a replacement heel. I love 'em so much I bought a separate pair just for more dressy occasions, but even the more beat-up pair gets me compliments nearly every time I wear them.

These boots fit perfectly when I first put them on. They felt worn-in already. Soft but sturdy. They make me feel smart and stylish.

I love this boot because they are very comfortable. When I was in my early 20s I had bad feet and this boots helped me tremendously with the support and comfort. These boots are made for walking

Vendors of WWI reenacting or living history do not have a shoe in my size, which is 14EE. So searched the internet to find a look-alike WWI cap-toe marching shoe and this is the only one - it is nearly identical to the type used in 1916 by the U.S. Army Infantry. I will wear it with a period-authentic U.S. Army uniform of 1916 for the 2016 Centennial of the raid by Pancho Villa, against American civilians at Columbus, New Mexico (Villa didn't count on the swift retaliation by U.S. Army cavalry and infantry units stationed there). We will have Infantry and Cavalry platoons participating in living history for visitors at the state park there, March 12, 2016. Am now walking in rough conditions to get the shoes looking even more authentic (the shine is quickly going away). And I should say that the shoes do well in in cross-country desert conditions - fairly comfortable, though it looks like the main idea of the shoe was stylish for urban environments which, yes, I am certain would be perfect. I wonder if Stacey Adams would like to see photos of the shoes with the whole uniform?

While these are lovely looking (and feeling) boots, they seem to run a full size too large...at least for me. I normally where a size 11 but I had to return the pair of 11's and am now also returning a pair of 10 1/2's. Hopefully the 10's aren't too big too.

They feel good. I was having a little foot trouble, and these boots seem to have dealt with it. I like the way they look, and they sem to be bearing up well.

I have worn Madison boots for years. Only drawback is the sole wears out quick. Re-sole with Neolite and they'll last forever.

This high top feels GREAT and can be worn all day long without a break! Since several reviews indicated they run large, I ordered a 11 1/2 instead of my regular size of 12. It fits perfectly. I got the black. It is shinier than I would have liked, but after I wore them a few times, I got use to that. My grandfather wore this style of shoe, only, back in the 1950's. As a kid, I always wondered why. Now I know! It is hard to choose another pair of shoes to wear for a given day.
