Got a pair of these in the light brown color. Had them for going on 3 years. I wear them primarily as a house shoe, but they're great for short trips to the store or taking out the trash. Very sturdy construction....no signs of busted seams or loose stitching. Easy to slip on and off...good for me, because I hate laces. Comfy year round. Don't wear socks with them....they feel best barefoot. I wore socks with them one time, and they bunched and felt funny. I wear them barefoot all the time now.

The best ever!
I found this slipper to be the best felling, most comfortable I've ever put on my feet. The moose hide tanning makes the difference.

Living in a city, I often run outside for quick errands, and I wanted a shoe that could double as a slipper inside and a street shoe outside. These feel like slippers and yet stand up to city wear. They look good too. I wear mine all the time when not at work.

I suggest reading up on these moccasins before buying. Two valuable tips I learned through research: Moccasins, as any leather, will stretch and are to initially fit super snug against the feet, so order small. Secondly, the black ones stain your feet. One reviewer said it happened on "the first couple of wears." Mine are new, so I will have to wait to see if the staining stops. By the way, Zappos is phenomenal! I ordered just before the holidays. Delivery was late by a few days. Without my even complaining, they emailed me an apology and a discount coupon for future orders. That's service!

Shoe came as expected. This is my second pair and knew that arch support was not part of this shoe. The older I get the more important arch support becomes so this will probably be the last time I buy this product.

Nice leather. Sole has good traction and is very soft - no support. Upper could be 1/2" higher at the heel to help it stay on. Overall a good non-insulated indoor slipper, not for wearing outdoors or moving quickly.

My husband Loves these shoes!!!
My husband and I went to Cherokee about 6 years ago and he purchased a pair of these shoes while there. He absolutely loved them!! He has had 2 pair since then. They do not hold stains,( he is a mechanic and he gets stains on them and the stains wear off quickly, or can be wiped clean). He said they are extremely comfortable, and if he could, this would be all he ever wore. They last a lot longer than you would think too. The soles are stitched and not glued like some shoes, which makes them much more durable. He always says to check that part of the shoe as the glued soles will come apart faster. He wears his until he wears a hole in the sole. I purchased these for him as a Christmas present, in which he does not know about yet, but has been hinting about needing a new pair. I am very happy that I could find these on line. They were shipped right out and I had them in 2 days. I know he will get much comfort from these shoes. I highly recommend them.

This is a wonderful slipper. I like the moccasin design -old-fashioned, almost primitive, yet incredibly sophisticated. The leather is great, it has a fluffy texture and distinct acid-sweet smell and is very warm. It's the only shoe I like to wear barefoot. A snug fit makes it fit like a sock, since the leather is so soft. The one improvement I'd suggest is a thicker, more resilient sole; with the thin one, it becomes difficult to run outdoors and I had to add another insert -if the sole was thicker, the padding already in the shoe would be sufficient.

Wow, your moosehide moccasins are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my 40 years! That is including all those ultra comfortable running shoes I buy. You have made a life long buyer out of me. In fact, I bet I will have half my family wearing these soon. I always associated your moccasins with those gift shops I see up north in Michigan or around the country where they also sell the rubber tomahawks and the cheap Indian jewerly. I wanted a pair of your high-top moccasins in the late 60's when I was 9 or 10. (I always had an admiration for Native Americans). I took a second look when I was up north in Michigan again. I was going to buy a pair of Sperry deck shoes. They were very stylish. However, when I tried on a pair of yours (that was, by the way, 30 dollars cheaper), I was amazed at how comfortable they were. The moosehide was so soft! Wow. Comparing the looks of the two shoes, the Sperrys won out. However, your shoes are still nice - but I buy shoes mostly for comfort and practicability. I really don't know how you could make the soft moosehide work like the stiffer cowhide. I have had many sincere compliments on the looks of the moosehide shoes. These are the shoes I plan on wearing most of the time in the summer. Please take these words to heart. I don't write to companies very often unless they greatly please me or greatly disturb me. You should be proud of the product you make. Bravo!

Maybe something darker for men or something similar for women.

I bought a half size larger and they fit well. The sole is very thin and there is a raised section at the heel that puts pressure on your heel. This is bothersome and limits their use to just bedroom slippers.

This slipper's rubber sole is detaching where it is stitched to the sides of the shoe. It has perforated the rubber sole. It's coming apart like a zipper all the way around the sole of the slippers. It seems like a design flaw or perhaps the rubber sole is inferior quality.

Perfect fit right out of the box. I normally wear a 9 or a 9 1/2 shoe, with cushioned socks. I intended to wear these slippers without socks, so ordered size 8 1/2. A perfect fit. Great quality, should last a lifetime. Of course, I'm rather old.

These replaced a pair of Minnetonka mocs of the non-moosehide variety that I wore out. The new ones, while exactly the same size, are so soft that I can't step into them as before. I have to use a shoehorn or my socks bunch up and grab the rough moosehide inner surface. However, the softness makes them extremely comfortable and the fit on the foot is very secure. No flopping around and I wear them everyday inside the house.
The construction has no stitching through the sole so they should outlast the previous pair. There were no stitches left to hold the sole on - yet the uppers held up like new. I expect the new ones to be even better and last even longer (years).

I bought my moosehide classic moccasins in December of 2006. Well, it's 2012 and I'm wearing them right now. I'm only on Zappos because I want another pair, but in black. These babies have survived water, snow, salt, mud, garlic sauce, and 2 puppies. These moccasins are quite possibly the most durable shoe I have ever owned. There are a few drawbacks, however. The leather that the bottom of your foot touches will stain your feet, socks, etc. Furthermore, there is no arch. I solved both of these problems by putting in a set of superfeet insoles. Buy these moccasins, they will last forever.

Amazingly comfortable moccasin. These are unlined, which makes them comfortable in summer, too. Moosehide is extremely durable. The sole on my first pair has finally split after nearly ten years of daily wear, but the uppers are still intact. Padded sole makes them more comfortable than going barefoot in the house. Best casual shoe/slipper I've owned.
