Love them. However, mine were a bit off on the color and not as comfortable as they should have been. I returned. I think one day I'll get a black pair because these are definitely something I want to own. However, currently, I want a pair of Frye that I'll get the most usage out of. These are not them for me.

Big Heel! Beautiful, well made boot. When I put them on, everything fit except the heel was way too big and slid around when I walked. I worried about the rest of the boot being too tight if I ordered a half size down. Going to try the Harley version from Zappos.com to see if the fit is better.

Frye Boot Fit & Feel - The boots look wonderful and are made quite well. On the negative side, they are very heavy and after awhile, your legs get tired of walking in them. They are very snug around your foot so not good if you have wide feet or want to wear thick socks.

I got these in the taupe suede and they are absolutely gorgeous. They will match everything and can be worn in all seasons. I ordered my usual size 6 and they fit fine; there is a bit of heel slippage but that is normal for a good boot. So why three stars? I put the left boot on and it fit like a dream, almost slipper-like. I am not exaggerating and I am very picky about comfort! But then the right boot was very tight in width. I looked at the soles and it is visibly 1/8" narrower! What gives, Frye? So I ordered a replacement which was so easy thanks to Zappos' unheard of exchange policy (no need to pay up front for the second pair, you just need to make your return within 14 days). So guess what, same thing! Now they are out of stock in my size, so frustrating! If you can get consistent sizing with these boots I am envious because these have the potential to be the perfect boots in terms of style and comfort. I am not sure about the leather styles but the suede will require no break in period.

I admired these boots for ages before finally taking the plunge and purchasing them last autumn. They are definitely high quality-- the leather is gorgeous and supple, and they look fantastic. However, six months later, ultimately I'm a tad disappointed. First off, as many have noted, they run big. I'm basically always a 9 but took an 8 1/2 in these. Secondly, they're immensely difficult to get on and off. Even after they're broken in, getting your foot into these involves significant struggle and twisting... sometimes I find myself choosing to wear other shoes just because I don't feel like dealing with ten minutes of writhing to get my feet into these! More frustratingly, I'm fairly convinced the heel on my left boot is slightly shorter than the heel on my right boot, which is an aggravating quality control issue. It's not awful, but definitely noticeable, especially when I'm walking on hard surfaces like concrete. The thing that's most kept me from loving these, though, is the rubbing at the heel. Even after breaking them in, I absolutely CANNOT wear these for any length of time without my heels getting rubbed raw... even under socks. This isn't after walking miles, either, but fairly short distances. So, while I love the look of these, after six months I'm just lukewarm on them. Put it this way: when I'm grabbing a pair of boots to wear, these are pretty much the last ones I pick, both because of the struggle of getting them on AND the fact that I know I'll end the day with nasty blisters on my heels.

They have changed the leather. It seems cheaper and not as solid in shape. My brown ones are much nicer. I hope they don't start using thinner leather on all the boots! Make them seem less expensive.

Look great, but didn't fit - I love the look of these boots. I ordered the same size as I would normally wear in a shoe, and found the foot to be too narrow, and the leather around the calf was too tight to get on properly. I ordered Frye Veronica's in the same size and they fit perfectly, so I'll be sending these ones back unfortunately.

Love the look, but they hurt - I thought these boots were a little tight and I called Frye and they said they would stretch to meet the shape of my feet. They did not stretch much and they hurt every time I wear them. Zappos was great about shipping though.

These look awesome and are definitely well made... but the fit was horrible... my five year old had to pull on them to help me get them off! Way too narrow. These didn't run big for me at all; they ran small, unfortunately. They will be going back. :(

I'm disappointed with these boots. I've always heard wonderful things about Fryes, but these just aren't comfortable. I've had them for a year and they're still not broken in - they're stiff and uncomfortable, and they're really heavy. I've got a new pair of black boots coming in the mail (different brand) and will probably give these to a friend once they arrive. The quality of the leather etc is great, but it's almost too great - it's just stiff stiff stiff and won't break in. Maybe if you wear them exclusively for a while, but if you rotate your shoes often, I feel like these would take years to break in. Also, they're very Western looking. Which is fine, I just wasn't expecting them to look quite that much like cowboy boots.

Look good but very painful and heavy . . . These boots look really cool and when I first put them on, although they were uncomfortable and the leather was stiff I thought I could break them in. These boots are VERY difficult to break in, if not impossible - I still haven't done it yet and my feet are in some serious pain several weeks into the process . . . They are also quite narrow and my little toes are either bleeding or blistered after I wear them. I keep trying to break them in because they were so expensive and now they've been worn outside I can't return them. Additionally, they are extremely heavy and after wearing them all day my legs hurt. If you work on a farm, have skinny feet and wear very thick socks - these boots might be great. Other than that, give them a miss.

When will manufacturers realize that not all of us have toothpick legs? I couldn't even get my foot into the foot bed of this boot. After reading all the stellar reviews that claimed it would stretch and it was the go-to boot for everything, I was looking forward to giving it a try. Since it's a very thick leather, good luck with that whole stretching thing. This is definitely a boot for skinny legs and narrow feet. Once the boot is on, I imagine it is quite as difficult to remove as reviewers claimed.

These shoes were a bitter disappointment after saving up my pin money for 6 weeks to buy them! They look, smell and feel gorgeous and are very striking on. The problem is that the seam on the side sewing runs under the heel pad and I could feel it all day long. It felt like I was in stirrups all day. I have tried to remediate this problem several ways. First I tried Dr. Scholls footpads but they made the boot too tight (and cost $50, thankfully returnable). Now I've got them at a shoe repair shop in the hopes that he can design a foodpad that will camouflage the uncomfortable lump. After paying this much, this is unacceptable! The man in the shop said this was "perplexing and poor workmanship." I would have returned them if I hadn't worn them in a desperate attempt to make it work. These boots broke my shoe loving heart!

These boots are too narrow at the calf for me, unfortunately. I measure 15 and was hoping these would work but they can't be 16 around like it says.

I love these boots. They are so comfortable. I can wear them all day. My boots are eight years old already and they still look new very durable. They last forever. I would definitely purchase them again.

Absolutely gorgeous. The leather on these is incredible. I love that they’re made in the US! They’re noticeably higher quality than my fryes made in China.

For my ladies with high arches they are little tough to get on and you might think you have a size too small. The foot bed is true to size. I wear an 8 1/2 and they were spot on. I suggest really doing your best to work your foot through the shaft into the boot and then wearing them around for a full day. By the time you take them off you’ll be able to slip your foot right in next time, The narrow part having expanded a bit with wear. This is some thing I struggle with this brand of boots often but these ones actually weren’t too bad After the first time I wear them. Are you sure the men’s version of these and loved them. The ladies are just slightly more feminine and less clunky. They’re great..

I love these boots. I am returning them because I don't think I will wear them enough to justify. I wish I could and know myself well enough to know I will end up ordering them again.

Love the look of these beautiful boots!

I loved these boots, but they are not made for my feet. I have a wide toe box, high arch, and a fat heal. If you have a narrow foot and not a high arch, these will work for you. Trying to get my foot into this fabulous boot was akin to giving birth. I bought a shoe horn, but for boots and it did help.

First off, I love these boots. They are well made and beautiful. I have a wide foot with a high arch. Getting my foot into the boot felt like giving birth. I got a boot horn (a long shoe horn) which made getting them on easier, (but still difficult). Second, the toe box area runs a bit narrow. This means that the front 1/3 of my foot felt squished. Now, if you have a more narrow foot and are used to a little heal, these boots are for you! I kept trying because I love them so, but each time I wear them, my feet ache.

Great Boots... little mix up with original order. Ordered these for my wife as a Christmas present. She had been looking for a pair of these boots for a long time, and the anticipation of her opening her present was awesome... BUT! When she opened the box, we found two right boots! She had somewhat or a broken heart. Zappos did a great job of getting her a left and right foot boot... and gave us a memorable Christmas for sure.
