Total Comfort! I ended up walking a mile and a half in them unexpectedly 3 days after purchase. I couldn't believe it, no sore feet or blisters. Total comfort! Customer for life!

I absolutely love this boot! I was surprised at how comfortable it is, and I love the color! I get compliments on this boot all the time. My husband, who is a leather boot fanatic, said this is some of the nicest leather he has seen. I highly recommend this boot!

I purchased these boots when I was doing a lot of horse back riding. They are rugged and tough and COMFORTABLE. I wear them now for casual outings and I think they must be indestructible. No wonder Frye has been around forever. Thanks for making great products!

I really like these boots. I normally wear a 9 in Mizuno running shoes and Nike shoes, 39 in Danskos, and 8½-9 in other shoes. I went with an 8½ in these shoes and they are a perfect fit. They are durable and high quality.

I had been eyeing up these boots for months, and all I can say is they are worth the investment! I had read all the reviews and almost ordered half a size down, I'm so glad I didn't! I wear a size 7 in every shoe I own, and that is true for these boots. I ordered a size 7 and they fit perfect! The style of these boots is meant to be loose, if I had ordered smaller the toe box would have been way too small. I can't wait to wear these boots for years to come, love love them!

Look at it this way: amortized over 20 years these boots cost less a year. Trust me, you will get at least 20 years worth of wear out of them. I've had a tan pair and a black pair of Frye Harness Boots since 1995. They're older than two of my kids and have outlived three of my dogs. They've traveled around the world with me, done whatever I asked them to do and made me feel like a badazz doing it. They are self-confidence in richly tanned leather. These are not faddish fashion boots that you wear for a season and ditch at the thrift store the next spring. These are boots you can rely on. These are boots so timeless, so high quality and so durable that you may need to bequeath them to someone in your will. Made in the USA, Frye craftsmanship is peerless. The leather is beautiful, thick and supportive. The rugged outer soles stand up to a ridiculous amount of abuse. The inner soles are comfortable enough to wear without socks. Pretty rebellious, huh? Go ahead - you know you want to get them. Zappos makes it easy, fast and guaranteed.

I purchased these boots because a coworker has a pair and they are absolutely gorgeous. I have minor foot problems so I need to get some cushion for my heels. Other than that they are a great pair of boots!

After browsing around for harness boots I decided to make an investment to a good pair of leather boots. I bought them in the tan and the picture doesn't do the color justice. It's more of a rugged worn tan and it's beautiful. I personally have a wide toe box so I ordered up a size and they fit like a dream. Now I just need to wait a few months and buy the 8r style as well.

Gorgeous boot, but really fits too big. I am always a size 6 in every shoe and my heel was coming way up out of boot. I will exchange for a 1/2 size smaller!

I've been tromping around in a pair of charcoal gray harness 12rs for several months now. I have several pair of Fryes (all from the made in USA collection) and these are my second favorites. The boot has enough edge to add visual interest, but also somehow works as a neutral when I need it to. The leather is oiled and shows markings easily, which I prefer. This is not a delicate fashion boot, though I think it has loads of style. This is a boot you can trust. Your car breaks down and you have to walk 2 miles to the nearest service station? You can do it in these boots. You need to keep up with your young children - you can do it in these boots. You need to flee an ax murderer, you can do it in these boots. You need comfortable boots that look great with skirts, shorts, and jeans (be they bootcut or skinny) - again, these boots. I think if I had started out with these and my Engineer 12rs I could have quit there. They are my two all-time favorites and serve my every need. I read the reviews (of which there are many) prior to my purchase, and everyone says they only get better with age. If you look, you will find images of Frye harness boots in various stages of disrepair because their owners have become so attached to them that they refuse to give them up. In a world where everything is disposable, the idea of long-lasting, high-quality boots with sentimental value appeals to me in spades. Give these and the Engineers a try.

There are no words to describe how much I love these boots. I have now had them for almost a year and pretty much live in them during the cold weather. They were very difficult to get on at first, but not uncomfortable to wear. Now they slip on as easy as pie, but don't feel loose. I wear them under skinny jeans, over boot cut jeans and with leggings. They are amazingly versatile and they make me feel powerful. So worth the money.

This is my second pair of Frye boots (other is Engineer 12R) and I'm happy with both. These are less stiff than the Engineer and softer leather. I hover between 7-7.5 and got these in 7.5. They are a little big, and I could probably go down to 7 but with thick socks or insoles these are fine. The heel slips, but that's okay with me. I have large calves (incredi-calves, as I call them) and these fit just right. After walking around for a couple days, they leather loosens up and its like a nice leather hug around your leg. I bought the Tan and it is a nice brown color. I plan on treating the leather with Frye Leather conditioning cream since I'm planning on wearing these throughout the winter. I think it changes the color slightly, which wouldn't be to bad since I could live with a darker brown.

I've had the 8R for years, certainly the most comfortable of my fryes, but a bit too short for my taste. I bought the the 12R but was totally unsatisfied until I traded up from the 77300 to the 77298. The latter's leather is much richer and more beautifil, and it wears quite beautifully as well. I have my everyday boot now, most happily, for fall, winter, and spring. Totally gorgeous... and tough!

I have been stalking these boots online for weeks and decided I had to have them. I received them yesterday and they are awesome! Color tan is true to the picture online. I wear a size 9M and I ordered my size based on other reviews and they fit just right. Can't wait for fall so I can wear them regularly. I am going to order the Smith Engineer Shorts next! Love these boots!!! If you are on the fence....just do it!!

I bought these in 1998 and still wear them today. They conformed beautifully to my feet and have taken every kind of weather under the sun. I love them. I wear them less now that I bought a pair of Engineer 15Rs that I also love, but they will always be my faves. I still get comments on them.

I bought these boots last year because I liked the neutral color and simple design. I normally wear between an 8.5-9B and ordered the size 8.5B. They fit nicely but were a little stiff right out of the box. After a few wears, they fit like a glove. These boots have a more heavy feel than my Lucchese and Born boots, but they are comfortable and go with almost everything. As an added bonus, these boots are made in the USA.

I've had my eye on these boots for years and finally ordered them! Had to do a little size switching but got the perfect ones. I love them and wear them with everything. The main reason I got them is for riding motorcycle (great heel for foot pegs) but they sexy up most outfits too. I want a pair in every finish. ;-)

I love these boots! I have owned many pairs of boots over the years, but Frye is definitely my favorite! These are so comfortable and so cute. I would recommend these for anyone. I usually wear a size 9.5 but I ordered a 9 and I do wish they were a bit smaller but an 8.5 would have been too small. Still my favorite boots.

I was wanting a pair of 12R's and was debating between black and charcoal... and then I ran across these! Yes, they are more expensive but let me tell you: they are worth every penny! I have multiple pairs of black boots and I wanted a pair with character- These have it!! They are a wonderful mixture of charcoal, dark brown and of course the orange color you see. If you are on the fence, take the leap and get them. They are awesome! Oh- and I am a size 8-81/2. Went with the 8 and have plenty of room.

Boots are beautifully made. Every seam seems to have great care and detailing. Leather is thick but soft, and molded immediately to my feet. There was zero break in time. Foot bed naturally has good cushioning. I put a cork arch support in because my feet need that (I have really high arches) and they accommodated that well. Boots are heavy and a little loose in the heel. This is typical of a traditional cowboy/girl boot, but if you're not expecting this it could be a problem for some. Sizing is a good American sizing (they do not run small as so many made overseas are these days). So if you're used to skimpy undersized shoes, you might want to order down a half size.

I lusted after these boots for months. I literally read every single review on every single website twice. I finally had enough extra money to splurge on these and boy am I glad I did. First off, they're gorgeous boots. No doubt about it. Real leather, hot, but not manly. Definite edgy flair to them. Really nice quality, I can tell they were made well and built to last. Nice tread, nice color (got the tan), and just the right height. Couple pointers. Listen to the other reviewers when they say to size half a size down. I am normally a 6, but ordered a 5.5 and the length is just perfect. Be warned that the foot part is narrow. I have really narrow feet myself, and these are still narrow for me. I am wearing them around the house with thin socks to break them in and loosen it up. I don't feel like this will be a problem for too long, leather stretches, so it should loosen in no time. If you have skinny little calves like me, know that there will be extra room in the shaft. I'm 5'2 and I think my calves are about 12" diam. There is definitely extra room in there although I might look silly bare legged, they look awesome with skinny or boot cut jeans. And screw it, I'm going to wear it bare legged anyway. I have a feeling I am going to wear these every day for the rest of my life. I bought these to wear to work on construction sites, but they're way too nice for that. The heel height is not noticeable and does not impact walking in any way. Feels like a flat footed boot. Very safe.

These are awesome boots. First of all, how can you go wrong with Frye? Yes they are pricey. But you always do get what you pay for. In this case, a boot that is made to last, and looks fantastic. LOVE the color. Not quite black, not quite light grey. Just right, in the middle.
