I waited 3 years of heavy wearing to finally review these...and they are still perfect and look as good as the day I got them. There is virtually no wear on the sole; when they get dirty/dusty, I wash them with a soft brush and a little Dawn liquid dish soap under running water (take the insoles out first) and they clean up like new. I have worn these on desert hikes, in European cities, around town and they always feel great. My feet are narrow and over pronated (flat). I appreciate the wide toe area. I usually wear prescription orthotics but don't need them with these sandals.

This is the perfect shoe. I just wish Zappos would keep my size (43) in stock. These shoes offer excellent arch support, are adjustable to fit wide or regular feet, and look great. I can walk in them for miles. I don't wear anything but Finn Comfort anymore, and this style is my favorite. It may not be as stylish as some of the other Finn Comfort styles, but it is the most comfortable.

This shoe is fantastic. I have just had knee replacement plus have a myriad of other foot issues - wide feet, plantar fasciitis . These allow me to walk long distances all day without the usual fatigue or pain I always have. They are a little industrial looking but still look nice with pants or skirts. The comfort I have found with these were worth the hefty price. I am a convert!

I just ordered my fourth pair of the Sylt style, not a very sexy shoe! That being said, NONE of the other Finn Comfort shoes I have worn (at least four different styles) provide the support and comfort these offer. My feet pronate. I have an old ankle injury and have had significant foot surgery many years ago, and have occasional tendonitis. THESE shoes rock. I live in fear that they will quit making them. I prefer the HARD cork bottom inserts for their great support, which works better for me than the soft style. I can still order the hard style direct from FC, I wish Zappos carried them. Happy cool walking!

I ordered these shoes after I was diagnosed with plantars fascitits. I have a very narrow foot and wasn't sure these would fit. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever purchased. Thanks to the Velcro straps the shoes fit my feet just fine. Excellent quality shoes throughout, very soft straps and softest insole I've seen. If you have heel problems be sure to order the soft insole.

The Silt is best if you have wide feet or a high instep. I tried them on in a store, and these were the Finn Comfort sandals that worked best for my high instep. Some of the other, like the Jersey, for example, might be better for medium or narrow feet. These Finn Comfort shoes are expensive, but they will last a long time and the insoles can be replaced.

I love this sandal. It has great support and looks good for such a comfortable walking shoe. I can't wear shoes without back straps anymore and even Birkenstocks hurt my feet - so these are a lucky find.

When no other shoe would fit, this is the shoe that worked so well for my Mother. They are expensive and they look it. They are very high quality and so comfortable. Despite that they cost double of what I have paid for any other shoe, I decided to try them. They look European and they do not look like "old lady shoes." Sadly, for me and my flat feet, these sandals did not work out. I can feel where the built in arch support is and it is too uncomfortable for me with my flat feet and no arch. They also do not have any cushy padding on the sole like my Merrill ice clogs that worked for me all winter. My Mother and sister-in-law both love these shoes and I would recommend them to you if you do not have flat feet. I am grateful Zappos enabled me to try them.

I have a couple of problems with my right foot. I've tried other sandals. My foot would always end up hurting. I'd walk in the shoes for quite a while in the store and think that they were okay. But after about an hour of walking my foot would start hurting. I can walk in my Finn Comfort sandals all day and have absolutly no problem with my foot. We were recently at Knott's Berry Farm, and my foot didn't hurt at all by the end of the day. Other parts of my body were worn out, but not my foot. I don't even want to try a custom orthotic because the ones that come with shoe seem to work just great. I think the shoes are so helpful because of the metatarsal arch support in the insole.

I first wanted to order this shoe in the summer of 2011. They were out of stock, but they said they'd notify me when it came in. It was about 8 months and I got a notice that the product was available. I thought they had forgotten about my request. The price was less. I think the retail price is a lot more. So I jumped on the price and ordered the shoe. I am positive thrilled. There is no shoe that is more comfortable. I have three problems with my right foot, and I can stay on my feet with these shoes all day. I've tried other brands but none compare. Arlene

These shoes show real promise for comfort and reasonably nice style for this type of sandal. But the box that they came in was smashed and ripped, and the shoes themselves looked as though they had been tried on many many times leading them to look not so new. Maybe you’ll get in some more in which case I’ll be interested.

These are lovely sandals. Unfortunately, they don't work for me. The buckle near my ankle rubs against my ankle so I'll need to return them. This has happened to me with other shoes, too, so I think it's my wonky foot, not the sandal.

CORRECTION: to my earlier Review:
I wrote that the Sylt is a "Unisex" Shoe. My MISTAKE. It does go up to size 43 (12 1/2 - 13).
When I called Customer Service at Finn Comfort to ask about HOW they should fit: I was told that it IS JUST a "Women's Shoe".
I thought that I had seen the COMBO sizing listed inside Zappos "Size Box" (40 - US Men's: 7 - 7 1/2 ; US Women's 9 - 9 1/2).
Just Double Checked and Zappos DOES have it ALSO as a "Men's Shoe".
So.... I should really call Zappos Customer Service
FYI: I asked Finn Comfort for suggestions re: the hard edge that was rubbing my toes (where 2 leather edges are glued\ AND are coated with some sort of ? lacquer? I was told to 1) rub edges with my fingers OR 2) apply a small amount of liquid leather conditioner.
Still bothered that such an expensive shoe ONLY has a 6 month Warranty. Maybe it is because I read a review from someone who had strap detach (glued in) DESPITE being "stitched in" (after being caught is the rain). Another person wrote about stitching coming undone. If I end up with a problem after Minimal Wear .......I know that I can always reach out to Customer Service at Zappos.

2nd pair of Finn's though I did have to send another pair back; my first pair Sansibar, in red, a 38, fits fine, but I am not used to a sandal with no back strap. Ordered the Sylt in black, again a 38, it is comfortable, fits my wide foot (with a bunion on one big toe & a bump on the other one from arthritis & a broken toe/broken bone spur). So far, so good, I am only trying them in the house so far. The sole does seem a bit stiff but I like the adjustable straps (3); I need a shoe/sandal with no stitching or other "do-dads" in the toe areas. Expensive but seem well made, I haven't tried putting in my orthotics and don't think I will need them. My only complaint (remember I haven't worn them much yet), is that the buckle is stapled on instead of having the strap folded over and sewn; I hope the staples hold (they seem to be made of a heavier-than-usual metal). If I like the sandal more and they don't hold, I may search out s shoemaker to sew the strap together rather than replace the buckle pieces, since the shoe can easily be slipped on without undoing the buckle. That said....really like the blue color....

Terrific comfort and arch support but runs v. wide and also long. I wear a size 10 normally but 41 is too big. Not a thing of beauty but worth it for comfort - will exchange for size 40

This sandals are very comfortable but the soles are not as firm as I would like. I've been wearing Finns almost exclusively for the past year, starting with Sausalito sandals I bought a year ago. For winter I bought a Laval shoe for last winter. I felt pretty comfortable ordering these for this summer. I thought I matched the bottoms. But these, while comfortable, are not as rigid as the other Finns, something I need due to arch problems, so I probably wouldn't wear them for a long hike. But Finns, overall, have made a real positive difference in my foot comfort!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and fallen arches, and, I wear an 11N. I can't find shoes that are comfortable on a good day. But I found Finn, and have been wearing Finn shoes for 10 years. The velcro closings on the "Sylt" style allowed the adjustment for my narrow feet. I even had the 10 year old pair resoled. I highly recommend them.

Having long feet is a challenge when buying shoes, especially on the internet. Shoe manufacturers vary widely in their sizing, so trying the shoes on is the only way to find a good fit (and good luck finding stores that have large sizes in stock!). I think these are mis-classified for size: the 11.5-12 were shorter than I expected, so barely acceptable in length. The European 42 sizing was more accurate - I should have bought the 43, which should have been listed as 11.5-12. The sandals are also very wide - why do shoe manufacturers think that longer feet are always wider? My feet are normal to narrow width, so cinching all the straps to their max is the only way these will fit with no socks. On the other hand, they'll be able to accommodate bulky winter socks just fine. I'm not exchanging them because it is just too much trouble where I live in a remote rural location.

Fit was true to size, top leather a little stiff throughout my wearing, my only complaint is that the velcro on the securing strap wore out before the sandals and the wearing season did.

Wish I had known it is a unisex show. I am a woman with slender, low volume feet and narrow heels. These shoes were too wide in the heel. I like the fact I could adjust the shoe across the top of my foot with all the straps, but I could not get the heel to fit. I had to tighten it all the way which then pushed my foot too far forward. I never would have ordered if I had known it was unisex--this should be listed on the size chart (I found out from the shoe box after delivery).
