I have held on to these shoes for several weeks and have been trying them from time to time to compare them to other New Balance shoes (all of which I needed to return) to see if I could get used to the shoes' stiffness. I had first tried these shoes in size 8B, which is usually the size I wear, but the heel was so narrow and tight that it caused pain, which surprised me because I have a narrow heel. So, I decided to try the 8D. I tried the shoes over a carpeted floor. I cannot imagine using it on a hard sidewalk, when the shoes do not flex, which could cause all sorts of problems. In the last couple of months I have tried a number of New Balance walking shoes, including new versions of old shoes I owned, and none of those shoes fit either. Quite a disappointment. I think it is time to try a different brand.

Walking Strike Path rubber outsole and arch support not holding up. Shoes are not made strong anymore. I will have to look for a sturdier shoe.

I bought this shoe because I was seeking the most supportive sneaker I could find. It is supportive, however the heel is too wide for my heel and slips. The padded tongue is too tight on my ankle and feels as if a razor blade is cutting my ankle. There was visible redness on the front of my ankle when I took off the shoe after trying it on. I tried both the laced and hook and loop styles and had the same problems with both.

Overall the shoe is well made. However, the toe box is too narrow. This is disappointing in that this is a wide width shoe. It makes no sense to construct a wide width show that narrows so much in the toe box area. I returned the shoes.

I have been a fan of New Balance walking shoes for more than 17 years. I loved and bought every new generation of NB walking shoe , specially loved 928 V2. But not this time, not 928 V3 . 928V3 is less support, bottoms of shoe are thinner , somehow 928V3 make my feet and knees sore and tired. I cannot return them since I have worn them for a week. I might have to try other brands of walking shoes.

I like every generation of NB walking shoes, but not this one, not 928v3. 928V3 is less support than 928V2.

My orthotics do not fit well in V3. The arch support does not line up. Bring back v1, they're the best.

I have been wearing NB 928s (version 1) almost exclusively for casual and dressy occasions since 2013 because I have hallux rigidus, a bunion, and a bone spur on the top of my foot. They were SO comfortable - I didn't have foot pain as long as I was wearing them. Since Version 1 is no longer available, I bought a pair of Version 3s last week - what a disappointment!! As I read in other reviews, the tongue is shorter, but more importantly, the quarters (the two leather pieces on either side of the top that the laces thread through) are also too small. On my V1 shoes, when they were laced up, the edges of the quarters were parallel, about 1-1/4" apart. On the new V3 shoes, they are about 1-1/4" apart at the bottom, and almost 2" apart at the top, and they still feel as though they are tied too tightly. They look as if my feet are swollen, but they are not. You had such an excellent product - why did you have to go and change it!!?? I'll be looking for something else next time, but I paid too much for these V3's to just throw them away. Ugh.

These do not fit like the original 928. I avoided the V2 because of bad reviews and my shoes need replacement so tried V3. ordered same size I always do and they fit very differently.8EE Heel is too wide and slips when walk, toe box was taller (not sure on width) and shoe was longer. So will give another try with 7.5D Disappointing they ruined my go to shoe.

I have worn NB shoes for several years because they come in narrow and are comfie. I walk everywhere, so comfortable shoes are important to me. However, the heel on these, even in a narrow, was way too wide, so I am returning them. Very disappointing!

New Balance needs to spend some $$ on developing a better sole. They're like walking in a banana peel when the sidewalk is wet. They're also quite heavy. I've had about 5 pairs if these over the years. They fit very well and h a very a narrow heel. I had very serious surgery on my left foot in September and I'm a little shy about trying another style. I used to wear NB 847 but my metatarsal arch became too tender to wear the thinner more flexible sole. Good luck with what you buy.

In the past, I was able to wear the 927's then the 928's and loved them, until they took away the soft area that gave room for my bunions. Such a disappointment! . I need the anti-pronation feature of the 928, and like leather so that I can wear them in a variety of situations. Running shoes are not great to wear with slacks. Please bring that soft area back to the 928.

I am so sorry! But these HAVE to be returned! I was so hoping these would be perfect! But, they are too short and too narrow! I have always known that NB runs small and accommodate for that. I ordered the same size I have been wearing for in NB for YEARS! I started with the NB926! They were PERFECT! NB927 were pretty good, too. All of the NB928s have been a complete DISASTER! ( This is my 3rd pair!) I thought, from the reviews, I would be getting back to the shoe that helped my poor old feet so very much. But, NO. I am devastated! I have ingrown toenails, hammer toes, Tailor Bunions, flat feet, and I over pronate. I see a podiatrist every 4 -8 weeks. NB926's and NB927's were such miracles to me! I am going to visit my (military) children and grandchildren in Europe and needed fresh new shoes for walking a LOT! These 928v3 actually HURT when I put them on. (They DO look nice, though!) I am so very sad and must search for a new brand to, hopefully, help my feet enjoy my trip and my work, which is 8+ hours of walking on concrete floors. I cannot begin to tell you how this saddens this loyal customer.

The shoes fit me, but they were so stiff, clunky, and heavy that I got a blister after wearing them around my house for only an hour. With upcoming shoulder surgery, I need shoes that I can secure with only one hand, which are frustratingly hard to find anyway, so the terrible construction of these shoes, which for $150 should have been of much higher quality, is very disappointing. I need shoes I can walk in daily for 2-3 miles, and these are clearly not designed for serious walking, much less a comfortable fit.

The pair I received was dirty and scuffed, so naturally I returned it. Thought maybe I should exchange it for another pair, so I tried these shoes on. Found the leather around the ankles to be stiff and uncomfortable. Also, the shoes are terribly unflattering; they're bulky, clunky, make my large feet even larger. A hard pass on these!

The New Balance WW928v3 felt true to size and width. However, there is no cushioning in this walking shoe. They hurt just walking across the carpet.

These were literally two different shoe sizes, although marked as the same. The right shoe fit great! I could not get my foot in the left shoe. Keep in mind I ordered three other pairs with this one, all the same sizes, and the others fit fine. NB used to be my go to shoe. Quality is, down.

I have worn this model of new balance for over 20 years, and the first version #1 was the best fit for my long, narrow foot. The latest version in 2024 and 2025 has changed for the worse. It has a narrower toe box, a wider heel, less cushioning and laces that are short by 2". The laces don't stay tied because the are not flat laces. I cannot use the latest version because of all these changes. I have always had to purchase other laces for safety and good support. The sizing has been changed to a half size shorter than in the past, so now the 10.5 I ordered are the same length as the old 10. The shape of the shoe is different and not as natural a foot shape.

VERY disappointed in the fit of these sneakers! This is the 2nd pair in a row that have not fit. My feet are so bad after surgery that these have been the only foot wear I can wear. I don't know what I will do now that they are being made differently!!!!! HELP

I don’t know why New Balance changed the design of their 928 shoes. I have owned 5 pairs in the past and repeated my purchase for the arch support, roll bar technology, the cushiony insole and leather upper. However, the last pair I purchased the sole was so stiff and hard that my back hurt in less than 30 minutes of wearing them. The was far less arch support than in my previous pairs and the upper material was too stiff. I am really sorry that I kept trying to make them work verse returning them. I will never own another pair.
