I bought these because my autistic grandson has xwide feet, and he has trouble putting on shoes, so the zipper is an awesome feature. I did find though for the first time, that a shoe is actually too wide. So if your child is not wearing AFOs, I would make sure you measure properly and size the width accordingly. I truly believe he could fit in a regular wide since he does not have AFOs.

This is actually our 7 year old grandson's second pair of Billy's because he finally outgrew his size 13.0 (W). However when we tried these on much to our surprise the size 1 (W) were much too wide for his feet. We've already ordered and received a size 1 (M) that fit him perfectly. We're left to assume going up a size caused them to be much wider than we anticipated. Since he's on the spectrum putting these on and off is like a breath of fresh air so we can only assume he's going to be wearing Billy's for as long as they're available in his size!

A great shoe for use with orthotics. The zipper makes it easy to put on and take off. The ability to adjust the laces to accommodate the braces is absolutely perfect. A well made sturdy construction. I strongly recommend this shoe.

Very comfortable. I have to buy split sizes, as my shoes sizes are different plus I don't have by 2 pairs. Billy is willing to provide split sizes as regular one pair.

My son had CP and LNS and these shoes are recommended by 3 of his doctors and his orthotists. My son loves how easy they are and how they come in cool colors

I don't know if BILLY Footwear knew what they were doing when they did this but their newest high top has a notch at the heel. This makes them perfect for articulating AFO's because the screws won't rip holes in the lining .

I'm so happy that Billy exists! As a mom to a special boy who wears AFOs the only shoes that fit him are Billy's. I appreciate a company that thinks of all sizes!

Perfect. There isn't a better word to describe these shoes!
My daughter, 8 in 2nd grade, is fairly new to having AFOs and we've gone through a few pairs of shoes already.
These are super sturdy, while not being extra heavy and they're SO easy to zip! The independence she has again putting on her shoes in the morning is refreshing! These have easily shaved 10 minutes from the morning routine and we won't go back!

I have been a peds homecare nurse for over 30 years and have used Billy shoes with a few of my precious littles. They give children a sense of being normal to be able to wear cute shoes and nurses and parents the convenience of easy on and easy off. Keep up the good work Billy Footwear. This was the first pair I have actually bought but have used several different pairs. They truly make using AFO's an ease.
