I've had these boots in the past with no complaints but they have changed. Not the same quality! I may have kept them but in addition there was a defect inside the boot that made them so uncomfortable I had to return them. Easy return & refund but disappointed. I've been around long enough to remember Ariat from the start, when they were a good quality company. Now like every other company they have outsourced to China.

I've been buying Terrains for years and the quality has progressively gotten worse and worse. I always have at least 2 pairs of paddock boots, and often are rotating 3 pairs. The Terrains are super comfortable and useful for me BUT they DO NOT last anymore. For example I usually wear a specific pair of Terrains twice a week. The last 5 pairs I bought separated at the seam at the ball of my foot on both boots within 9 months. That's not much wear!! I never get them wet or wear them in the mud - I have muck boots for that. I clean and condition them weekly at least once. I've even tried 2 different sizes but they still fall apart at the same place. Looking for a replacement - going to try Justin or Mountain Horse. No more Ariat Terrains for me.

When the Terrain boots first came out they were the only shoes I could wear when I had plantar fasciitis. The last 3 pairs I've gotten have not lived up to that quality. The materials seem cheaper, more plastic than leather, my feet float around inside them, they stretch out faster and don't even last a year now. And the ATS foot beds flatten out way too quickly and seem very thin. I've had this pair just under a month and my feet already hurt. I wish they would go back to the original quality. Unfortunately I can't return them because I've already worn them outside working.

I absolutely love these boots. However, I just noticed that on one of the heels the glue/gloss is peeling off. I have worn these boots maybe 5 times. For the price of these boots, they should be better quality. Very disappointed.

Loved these boots until they came apart where the leather meets the sole. Both boots both sides. Boots aren't even a year old.

I bought these about a month ago and they are very stylish boots. My reason for buying them is I work long hours on concrete flooring and I need something that keeps me comfortable. I have received a lot of compliments on the style of these boots, however, my feet and body hurt at the end of the day after wearing them. I tried putting inserts in them but, it didn't help. Maybe I need try Ariat inserts for them. They seem like they will last and I love the Aztec design but, I wish they were more comfortable. I also wear thicker socks because they are a little wider than expected. I wear an average width size the they're slighter wider than that. For style I would recommend. For comfort I would not.

This is my third pair of Ramblers. My first two were exceptional. This last pair it appears that the quality of leather has changed (not for the better). The toe is not as squared as they used to be, and stitching is a much different color. These boots are also now higher than the last ones. I realize fit changes with leather but the fit on these is off. My left boot is perfect and my right boot is very loose. Tough deal but I'll be shopping for a different style next time.

I loved the look of these boots, I had read all the good reviews and was so excited for them! Unfortunately I found the leather extremely stiff and uncomfortable. My left foot fitted inside the boot but I couldn't get my right foot into the other one! I was sad to send these boots back.

I have had two sets of these boots. I love them because they are comfortable for riding as well as hiking. But one boot on both sets ripped at the toe so it isnt waterproof anymore. This happened on each set only after 6 months! And I only wear them in the mornings....though they do get wet a lot. I would not call these boots very rugged at all.

I was really excited about these shoes, wore them for a few hours for work, and my Achilles tendons were extremely sore. I put them on the next morning for an hour of work and had to take them off because my tendons were so sore I could barely walk. I'm unable to return the shoes to the store where I bought them, so I suppose next step is to try and sell them. They did keep my feet warm and dry, the support was great, and sizing true! I really like Ariat, but these are not for me.

I have purchased two pair of these boots. They were very comfortable. I use them every day all day working on my ranch. Both pairs only lasted about 5 to 6 months. They crack and wear out in the crease where they bend at the base of your toes. Very good boot if you do not plan on using them much, for the occasional hike or weekend use. For me too expensive for the time I get out of them.

I had bought these about a month ago and can't even wear them for more than a few hours. The left one fits just fine. The right boot is super tight and uncomfortable. I even bought boot stretcher and have left it in there for a week and it'll go back down to the original size within a few hours to wear it squeeze my foot.

I got these for barn boots and to hack around but they feel too wide and bulky almost like my foot would get stuck in stirrup. Wearing them around the house they were not comfortable but felt more like wearing a box with out much cushion. I could not tighten the laces because they wouldn't stay tight.
I'd also recommend:
The brand that has fit me best that really supports and hug my foot but is still flexible is Teva.

In September of 2018, I ordered these boots. It hasn't even been 6 months and they're falling apart. The toes are peeling, the sole is coming off, and the water resistance has not been affective since the first month I bought them. I don't wear them everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week. Very disappointed in the quality of these boots for the price I paid. I expected a much higher quality as I have always chosen Ariat when purchasing tall boots for English riding.

The first year I had these boots was great. After a year the lining started to come apart from the outside, making the fit sloppy and also making it very hard to take the boots off.

I have a pair of Terrains, marked 6.5B, I got about 4 years ago. They fit perfectly from the first moment--no break-in period required. Although marked a B width, they were so wide that I had no issues with any rubbing (like I normally do); in fact, I had to pull the laces as tight as they would go (1st time ever). ILOVE these boots. They are pretty beat up looking now, so I wanted to order another pair for work. Tried on same size Terrains, same color, in store--6.5B-- WAY too small. Even held up my current boot to it, sole to sole, and there was a big difference in width. Both supposedly 6.5B. So I went online and ordered a 7B, because the color I wanted did not come in a C width. (WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THAT???) Still too narrow. Held that one up to my 6.5 B and the 7B was more narrow and less than ?? longer than the 6.5B. Returned those and ordered a 6.5 C. Those are more narrow than the 6.5 B I had originally as well, and they are supposed to be the wide width! Returning these also and will try a 7 C this time. I really hope this one works; if not I will be searching again for the perfect boot with another brand. **to those whose first response is ?your foot changes over time??that is not the case as my original 6.5B still fit perfectly. Obviously, if my foot had changed that much, those boots would not still fit** What is going on with your sizes? Why the change? If my original boots were incorrectly labeled from the start, I need to find whatever that size and width is. Are you getting any more C width boots in stock that are actually wide? I see several styles that indicate a C width is available, but then when you click on it, only certain colors are available (example: Heritage paddock boots?C is available in black but not brown). Would men?s boots (if small enough) be wider than the women?s? I am very disappointed in this development-- I finally found the perfect boot, and then you changed the sizes. I don?t see the point of doing that. Looking at several reviews, I am not the only multiple-pair owner who has noticed a change in the sizes. I truly hope I can find the size that fits once again and remain an Ariat customer.

This is the second pair of terrain boots I have purchased and I love them because they are so comfortable and require no break in period; however, I am disappointed because they wear out so easily. This last pair is not even six months old and is no longer waterproof and the soles are starting to separate from the boot. I do walk many miles for my job but at this price it's hard to replace them just after a couple of months

I just love, love my original pair of Fatbabys - solid, roomy, thick padded footbed, soft shaft, just so easy to wear all day in the field. By comparison, these felt so light and unsubstantial in the hand and on the foot, and were so stiff they rubbed my skin raw within 15 minutes of walking in them. The leather on these is clearly inferior to the original models, and what's with that foam/fabric lining? These are really more appropriate for fashion wear than work wear, which is unfortunate because they look so cute. But I sent them back and bought used original Fatbabys online.
