These are a blend of boot and cross trainer. They have a wide toe box, are water proof and feel great when walking. The top feels a little stiff after wearing them today, but I think that’s a concession for being water proof and it’s the first day I’ve used them. Walked all around Sewanee, TN in them with no problems. Good rainy day shoe!!

I'm female and size 11 typically. In fact I wear and love the Keen Voyageur. My toes don't taper as much as square off which makes finding shoes challenging. Plus my 3rd toe is maddeningly longer on my right foot so that really makes it harder. I don't really need a wide shoe but a decent toe box. Not all Keen's are created equal in this regard. In fact the Voyageur has the best in hiking area. I saw these and thought the toe box looked wide enough. I tried the 11 and they just fit but I'm old enough to know that that is not good enough especially dropping $160. So I ordered the women's 12 and the men's 9.5.
Men's 9.5 are perfect. 12 way too big. I've tried this with other brands in the past for running shoes because of the tapered toes and it has never worked out so well. These are really comfortable and I'm excited to finally have an alternative walking shoe to my Voyageurs. Plus it looks like Keen is going to stop making them!

Such a disappointing Keen! These are supposedly made with the "original fit" - meaning the toe area is their roomy, wider, original design. But I've tried other original fit styles that are plenty wide across the toes, but this Roam isn't one of em. Also, these are very firm in cushioning,
I didn't feel like there's any response underfoot, even tho the description says there is. But the biggest negative surprise was the totally FLAT insole! There's absolutely no arch shaping or contour that I actually expected from Keen. These trail shoes are very overpriced, considering they're only a flat, breathable, unflexible shoe with lugs.
I'd also recommend:
