Sizing very inconsistent. Hoka literally picked the size for me. I normally wear 11.5 wide in all running shoes. Hoka said you need a 12 wide in gaviotas. Lemme tell you, I was shocked how huge these were. They were at least 1.5 to 2 full sizes too big. I even let my hubs try them on, and he's an 11.5 in men's Brooks and they were too big for him. The cushioning was good but the shoe has really hard plastic or something in the arches on both sides of the foot. I've never encountered a shoe like this. My first try with Hoka will be my last.

My foot specialist recommended this shoe1 This shoe worked out perfectly for me! So much so, that I bought a 2nd pair to put away for later! It cradles the heal nicely, has a nice wide toe box & allows for the arch support that I need!

The toe box on this shoes is very wide which should be made clear on comparisons. I have used the Bondi for years but they have changed the model which doesn’t not work as well for me. This shoe is at the extreme end of cushion, even w my custom orthotics. I wear Hoka for the cushion but this is too much.

Very comfortable, supportive shoe. I added Walk Hero inserts per my podiatrist's recommendation, for additional arch support due to newly diagnosed bunion. Use them for fitness walking. Highly recommend. They feel a bit larger than other brands of the same shoe size, and look a bit wide/large aesthetically, but they are nice looking overall and very good. I'm going to buy another pair in a different color.

Hoka Gaviota is my go to shoe for work outs, walks and everyday use. The newest style has added some additional comfort to the shoe. I highly recommend this shoe.

Very good arch support . Could have been better 1/2 size bigger.

I am returning these because the toe box is enormous and I really need more stability.

Turns out, I didn't like the rocker feel of Hokas. Bummer..

Great shoe for comfort and stability! After foot and knee surgeries, I needed a wide toe box, solid support and a decent arch. I bought these Gaviota 6’s to replace my 5’s, very happy with them!

I have a very wide foot and high instep. I have other pairs of Arahi in 8 1/2 W but since I am having trouble with the right side of my foot being irritated, I thought trying another Hoka an extra wide might do the trick. But these were far too wide, and I didn’t feel like I had any support whatsoever.

Loved the cushion in this show, however the fit was wider than previous Hokas

I purchased two lower priced black and white athletic shoes before this pair. Both were advertised as wide width and the same size but one pair was too short no the other pair was too narrow. These are wide enough and my toe is not crowded. These lift is higher than I wanted but the cushion feels good and I knew that when I ordered. These are twice as expensive but I can’t deny the fit.

Fit and size were perfect. Toe box wider than previous models which was a great improvement.

Great fit and look. I like the less obvious sole and heel. The fabric over the toe seems less likely to tear and even wear like previous years. They also seem lighter. More color options would be nice!

Tried the 8.5 regular and 8.5 wide. The wide was very wide, a little too slushy and they were also longer than the 8.5 regular. Nice basic shoe. Wish they fit.

Like the shoes. They are not overly huge (by today's standards). They offer support and seem like they would be a good walking shoe. Unfortunately they were too short. Toe box was good, not overly big but not too small either.

These are the best Hokas for wide feet. Helped with Plantar Fasciatus and overall foot stability.

They just didn’t have the feel of my other hokas. The toe bed was too wide. I also didn’t realize birch would basically be white.

Actually pretty disappointed in This expensive Hoka support shoe. I'm using it as a simple life style shoe. I've tried the Bondi 9's four times and returned. They are narrow. Very different from Bondi 8. Keep trying and returning the beloved Clifton 10. Again not wide enough. Both the Bondi and the Clifton have plenty of support and comfort. Neither is wide enough even in wide. The new Gaviota is flat, non supporting and sloppy. Could twist an ankle easily. A bit like wearing an old school nb BRING BACK THE BONDI 8

didnt like the fit on my feet. Not like the former giovata shoes :-(

Nice wide heel base and toe box. I bought one of the styles on sale and admittedly, they look a little like clown shoes but they get the job done. Nicely cushioned and the arch support is there, but not as much as expected.

Too wide, and I have medium width feet. These also run a little large. In addition, they aren’t very attractive - they look much better in the photos. I’ll be sending them back.

These shoes are spectacular, I'm so excited about them! I have a wide foot and I over pronate, so the gaviota is good on paper for me, but I didn’t like the 5s. I loved the arahi 6 but not 7 or 8, so I'm still wearing my 6s, but they're pretty worn out. I'm so excited about these, and I can't wait to get more colors as they come out. I got the light blue and they're beautiful IRL. PS, while I have a wide foot and often wear a wide in shoes if I can get them, the medium width fits me better in these, so they do run wide and I could see this being an issue if you have a really narrow foot.

This is my 3rd pair of Gaviotas. I have 4s and 5s. These are my favorite yet. No breakin period, felt great right away.
