I was so excited for a shoe that I could wear on my daily walks with my dog around the neighborhood (pavement) and also on hiking trails. Plus the fact that it was slip-on! It was my dream shoe. I first ordered it in my normal size for Hokas but the heel was slipping, so I tried it in a half size down. But my heel was still slipping. I now attribute the this to how a slip-on shoe is shaped, with a deeper than usual cup at the back of the heel, making it almost C-shaped. Direct contact between heel and shoe is only at the very top of your heel, rather than hugging the heel. I bought a pair of Skechers slip-ons that had the same shape and the same heel slippage problem. With these Hokas, I tried using the additional laces that are included, which negates the point of an adjustable-lace slip-on, but I was willing to use them to make the shoe wearable. But having both laces in use didn't help, even with the smaller of the two sizes. So I had to return them and go with two different Hoka models to accomplish what I thought this one pair would do. Now I know...slip-ons just do not work for me. Also, there seemed to be no way to remove the adjustable laces in order to use the traditional laces alone.
