Very comfy, though the toebox is not as wide as the prior 1080.

Very disappointed in New Balance shoes. Most, if not all, of their really good series of shoes eg: 840, 877, 1540 have been replaced with this new gimmicky "fresh foam". I felt like I was walking on a trampoline & going to roll my ankle. If you need stability, like the roll bar technology, you will have to find a different brand of shoes.

BEST SHOES EVER!!! I was almost killed in a high speed car accident 16 years ago, and have now had a total of 26 surgeries due to the accident. My right foot has been completely rebuilt 3 times now, and is fused in my ankle and right MTP Joint. My left foot MTP Joint is fused as well. I have had a total of 9 orthopedic foot/ankle surgeries now, and have tried every brand of running shoe that exists. My Orthopedic Foot/Ankle Chief of Surgery highly recommended I try New Balance after my recent surgery. I am thrilled he recommended this specific model, because it accommodates people who have serious foot issues/long history of surgeries too. These are absolutely my favorite shoes to be able to walk in with my dog daily. They bring me so much comfort on a level I never knew could exist. I also have a Spinal Fusion that was done 2 years ago, and it relieves my lumbar back pain. My knee pain is totally gone as well. I fractured everything known to man in my car accident, and my body is degenerating at a very rapid rate. These shoes make me so happy I can’t express enough how good they make my bad feet feel daily! Thank you New Balance! Never change this shoe!
