the inner glued arch support squeaks and is annoying

They squeak when you walk in them.

After a short while the sole separated from the shoe and made a loud squeaking noise when walking. Very annoying.

Nice shoe but I needed a full size larger.

Best shoe and most reliable shoe ive ever bought

I'VE BEEN WEARING AIR MONARCHS FOR OVER 15 YEARS. THEY HAVE ALWAYS RUN TRUE TO WIDTH. I'VE ALWAYS PURCHASED THE ALL WHITE VERSION IN 4E WIDTH (I HAVE FEET LIKE A DUCK) BUT DECIDED TO TRY A DIFFERENT COLOR SCHEME. THIS PAIR FEEL SLIGHTLY NARROWER THAN THE ALL WHIE VERSION. I THINK THEY WILL STRETCH TO FIT COMFORTABLY AS I BRAKE THEM IN.

Great Shoe except the squeaking that the shoe does after a little while.

This is the 3rd pair of these that I've purchased. I particularly like the relatively stiff sole as that assists with some problems I have with my toe joints. This latest pair was listed sized at 4E which was different from the W of my previous pair. Nevertheless, the new pair fits the same as the old.

I am wearing them, most shoes I buy feel a bit too slim on the width, likely my feet as WIDE shoes are to wide.

These are nice kicks but they will blind you if you look at them in sunlight. I'm not sure how they make the white paint so glowy. Usually I'm dad-rockin the New Balances but lately those have been hurting my collapsed arches, and these Nikes don't. A good functional upgrade since I no longer limp and lurch, plus with a little more cool factor, and super inexpensive so it's hard to find any fault. They do make my feet look even bigger, but I don't mind looking like an inexpertly drawn cartoon character so that's fine.

With a wide foot, I order up 1 size. The air sole is really good - 3rd pair I’ve owned.

Fit and size was good. Had to return because they were so squeaky!

Twenty years ago, I bought a pair of "sneakers," due to some foot issues. I didn't pay any attention, other than the podiatrist suggested something along the likes of Nike. I bought the shoes, they were fine, my feet felt better and I never paid attention after that. Last year, the shoes finally started falling apart, so I figured I'd buy them again. The problem is I have no idea what I bought! They said Nike, and I noticed a faded "Air." At first I went to a local shoe store. They measured my foot, so I now knew exactly my size. But they didn't have any kind of arch support shoes. Trying on their limited supply of various brands, I "discovered" the Nikes had arch support. I went to a different store, and although they had some Nike shoes with arch support, they ALL were in "Wide" sizes. Then I remembered Zappo's. Fortunately, I knew my shoe size pretty exactly. And I'd had the chance to try different shoes slightly smaller or slightly larger. My size is definitely a 9 Medium. If I hadn't known that, I wonder if I'd have had as easy an experience online. Either way, I also had the existing shoes. I was able to compare pictures, and I see that there have been numerous changes to the Nike "Air" sneakers. Holy Smokes! Not easy to find "my" shoes! Eventually, I found something pretty close. I figured I'd give it a shot, knowing I likely could return the shoes if they didn't fit. in fact, they're as close as I think I can find to the original shoes from 20 years ago. Slightly different, but only very slight. They feel good, fit well, and vaguely remind me of how "odd" the new shoes felt, all those years ago. My main recommendation for shopping online is to know your shoe size! That means having someone measure your foot. Somehow. We still have some shoe stores around, and so that's not so hard to accomplish. But if you don't know your shoe size, it can be seriously confusing trying to buy shoes online with such a massive number of choices and options. If you DO know that size, then it's quite fun, and the prices are very good.

Bought to replace earlier pair that use to walk 4-6 miles a day. I find them very comfortable with a wide enough toe box to fit my bunion. The squeak from the earlier pair is gone-

exactly as expected. I buy 2 to 3 pairs of this shoe every year. White for summer ,,, black for winter..No surprises. Good value for the money

If you have a narrow or average narrow foot, these sneakers will feel a little bit wide, and your foot will feel too free in these sneakers. Maybe I should have bought them half a size smaller than my usual size, but I’m not sure.

Fit and size was true to what I ordered. Love them!

Well made --this is my 2nd pair --the others are wearing out after many walking miles. The toe wrap started to un glue on my old ones(re glued and that fixed it) -very good build other than that. Comfortable after installing thicker insoles.

How to address squeaking: Right up front, when they start to squeak - and they will - just remove the insole and add a good amount of powder. Replace the insole (or replace with a better 3rd party version like Dr. Scholls), and walk around for a bit to work the powder into the interior of the sole. You will be squeak-free for weeks or even months. Repeat whenever the squeaking crops up, and you're golden. I've been wearing Air Monarch IV's as my go-to shoe for at least 12 years. A pair usually lasts around 3-4 years before they wear out or experience separation somewhere between the upper and the sole. They are extremely comfortable, and with a really nice gel insole replacement, they are even more comfortable. I can't recommend them enough, and am just so happy they're still making them after all these years. One other caveat: The shoelaces will wear out within a year or two and need to be replaced. They usually snap while tying at some point, so just be prepared.
