My favorite shoe.

This is my third pair in this style, second pair in black. My first pair are only three years old and still in good condition for anything, but will be replaced with the new ones for work/school. Second pair in white about 18 months old also have no problems and used for walking. Personally I need additional foot support for both ball of foot and heel. With these shoes I can add whatever I want and there is still room for comfort.

Air Monarchs are perfect for vigorous walking. I love the comfort, and they stand up to lots of hard use.

My husband has been wearing these shoes now for about 10 years and has probably gone through about 5 pairs of them in that time. They're a nice plain black, none of these ridiculously bright colours that are totally unsuitable in many situations. They're well made most of the time, although he did get one dud pair which split at the edge of the sole however Nike did offer a credit and they were replaced. As others here have said, sometimes the shoes can be very noisy, depending on the surface you're walking on (polished linoleum is worst). Not all pairs he's had have been as noisy so I don't know if the sole pattern has been changed over the years. He says he can't sneak out of work early on a Friday afternoon because his boss hears him squeaking past! The shoe is supportive and comfortable right out of the box, no need to wear them in and the price is a good value.

As a delivery person, I am on my feet for hours each day and have been purchasing the Nike Air Monarch as my work-shoe for about 10 years. They don't require the typical break-in period of other shoes and have always been comfortable from the first day of use (no blisters, sore feet, etc.). The quality has been good and consistent (with no noticeable variation size, width, overall quality). Some of these do seem to develop a slight squeak (as noted in other reviews) but it's not a concern for me and doesn't seem to affect the performance of the shoe. Zappos offers these at competitive pricing and has provided trouble-free service when purchased through their website.

These shoes are very comfortable! I typically have trouble finding shoes wide enough and these are very true to a 4E.

Maybe the best shoe for the cost! This shoe is a great all around trainer with good styling.

I've been buying these Nike's foe many years now. They are a decent shoe & hold up well in the wash. The sizing runs a bit small. I wear a 10 in most every other shoe, and need to order a 10.5 in these. People complain about the "noise" from the Monarch's. I've had a couple of them do this. Here's the fix if yours start to make noise. Pull the insole out of them and sprinkle a small amount baby or foot powder inside and replace the insole...noise gone!!!

If you have a short, wide foot with a deep instep, these shoes are great. I actually buy at least 5 pairs of these shoes each year for my daughter, yes, daughter. There are no fashionable women's athletic shoes that come as wide and a 4EEEE. You just never know when they will stop making this particular style in this particular size. So, I try to keep her stocked up.

I wear these to announce basketball and volleyball. I purchase a new pair of whites and then rotate to the black and red. I wear the "year two" pair for work, and eventually they become yard shoes.

Bought these shoes for work, spend all day on my feet in comfort.

Its difficult to fit my son as his foot is so wide. We buy this model of shoes every year, sometimes more often. They wear well and the fit is perfect.

Good shoe and they last

I have worn Air Monarch shoes for years. Zappos delivered the shoes as promised and it was the lowest price in the web. However, after the second day, I have to apply band aids in both feet for the blisters that for the first time in my life I got from new tennis shoes.

These would be super perfect and comfy for me, except near the front of my feet my pinky toe is getting smushed, very thin at the front. Can't wear for that, but otherwise awesome shoes in terms of padding and support.

Very Nice Shoe! I have a wide foot and it is hard to find "Cool Looking" shoes that fit just right and these are the ones. Both colors and styles fit perfect! AAA+++

I have owned several pair of Nike Air Monarchs and was pleased to find that Zappos offered them! Regarding the "crunching" or "squeaking" noise that they begin to make at about six months: Buy a small can of foot powder, remove the insole from each shoe, lay in a sixteenth-inch thick layer of the foot powder, and reinstall the insole. Works like a charm! I have occasionally had to re-apply but usually one application eliminates the noise. Small price to pay for the comfort they provide.

This is by far the ugliest shoe I've ever bought. But I'm at that point where my number one concern is comfort. And these shoes get an A in comfort. I'm on my feet a lot and in my right foot, I have a heel spur or bone spur. My left foot, I have a bad habit of rolling my ankle. The width of these shoes help me not to roll my ankle. I've been wearing this same pair for over a year now. I even mow in them and then use a magic eraser and they look like new. Thank you nike and zappos

I love these sneakers! I buy 2 pair at a time every couple of years, and put them through the rotation (clean, workout, grass cutting, trash), and they last through it all. So many sneakers these days have fluorescent green or orange accents, so it's nice to still be able to get a clean, classic looking shoe at Zappos.
