I liked these shoes and would have kept them except I could not work the buckles on the narrow straps. They were too stiff (may have softened with time), and they had to go through a narrow buckle. I think the narrowness of the buckle would have always made it really hard to make them work. To be entirely fair though, I'm 70 years old, and my fingers aren't as agile as they once were. Nevertheless, I'm always able to buckle my shoes! These were much tighter to go through the buckle and into the notches.
