Customers Say

Customers find these hiking shoes to be of good quality, though they report the shoes are too narrow and tight around the toes. Moreover, the tongue design is problematic as it's sewn in, and customers find them uncomfortable, with feet hurting during use. Additionally, the heel sturdiness is concerning, with one customer reporting the shoe ripping off immediately. The cushioning receives mixed feedback, with some saying they feel great while others note they're not plush enough. Customers disagree on the stability of the shoes.

I wanted a waterproof , lightweight shoe for the miles and miles I walk my dog in the pnw rain. Got the wide, but something is definately off in the fit of this shoe. I'm a 6.5 W and my toe was almost to the edge of the shoe. Despite being a wide, the shoe felt tight along the arch of my foot . . . maybe because the tongue is fixed. The laces are impossible to move. This shoe was a big fail for me. If only Solomon made the speedcross 6 W in GTX. There are virtually no options in GTX for a wide foot. Back to the drawing board.

The top of the shoe was made of a strange, unmovable plastic material. It actually hurt the top of my foot to get the shoe off. The tongue of the shoe also gathered up on the top of my foot. This was the oddest pair of HOKA's I have ever tried, and I own a few. The shoe was very light weight and the sole tread was fantastic. If only the top of the shoe was made of a better material. They went back right away.

I love the Speedgoat. I have been wearing them for YEARS! I like having a Gortex pair for the winter, however, every year the Gortex is only offered in black. This is getting a bit boring. Please come up with some other color combinations!

I love the Speedgoat 5 trail shoe. I was excited to buy the 6, but it was such a disappointment. I really liked the pattern of the 6. The toe box was so big and bulky and I tripped over my own feet. I returned it and purchased the 5 which I love.

The shoes are okay, nothing to write home about, certainly not the money I paid; they are too tight, not quite wide enough. I was able to wear them all day, to try and break them in, and I went for a 2-mile walk. The bottom of my feet hurt afterward. I'm not sure if I can wear them on a hike. I don't think they have the right support for climbing.
