Customers Say

Customers love these hiking shoes for their no-tie lacing system, superb traction on variable surfaces, and sturdy construction that allows scrambling across talus fields. They provide good arch and heel support, with one customer noting improved lower back pain, and get lots of compliments for their style. The fit receives mixed feedback, with some finding them true to size while others say they are too big.

I really like these shoes, but I am a bit confused. The description clearly says that they are waterproof which I really need as I work in a greenhouse, but they are most definitely not waterproof. Like not even a little bit. A single drop of water goes straight through to my socks. A little disappointed because I love the style and fit so much

Review for Zappos VIP Points (What's this?)

These are one of the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn! They are a little longer and a little wider in width than most. I have feet that are wide nearer my toes, and also hurt if the heel unnaturally tips my foot forward. So it's not always easy to find shoes that are comfortable. I wear my sneakers everywhere...out to dinner, hiking, errands and long hours doing building construction and masonry. They are sturdy enough to give support, but still flexible, and have some natural materials used. I like these better than the newer ones with Gore Tex (which doesn't work when exposed to dirt). My only criticism is that I preferred the previous navy blue and purple colors to the current options.

I have been wearing the XA PRO for what seems like forever. The most important feature of any shoe is how it fits YOUR particular foot and the XA PRO really seems made for my feet. The shoe is deep enough to accommodate my custom orthotics and are sturdy enough to protect my feet for walking, biking or hiking. I have several pairs and wear them every day. My best guess is that I have been wearing Salomon's for 20 years and I have never had issues with quality or durability. I love the quick lace system and have never had issues with hot spots or sore spots on the tops of my feet.

Fit is good and true to size. But they are not waterproof. The online description says they are Goretex, but there are no markings that indicate that on the shoe or the attached marketing materials. Zappos needs to update the description.

I loved the way they looked out of the box but when I tried them on there was so much extra space in the front of the shoe above my toes - they did not fit well. I returned them.
