Question

I'm finding Birkenstock's product info is very vague... Does this CT version of the regular Milano have any difference in firmness? I'm very much in favor of the soft-footbed varieties (with the blue lettering) and I'm wondering if the different sole on the CT makes the traditional footbed softer.

Best Answer

The Birkenstock website offers the Milano shoes in both soft-footbed and traditional/original-footbed. Your choice. The traditional footbed has longer staying power and is far more supportive over time, as the soft-footbed flattens out and ceases to retain the unique arch support.

Been wearing Birks for over 30 years but they are not the quality they used to be. Bought Milano CT's and they failed within 4 months. Back ankle strap was made from thin inferior leather and would not stay on my ankle even after creating a new hole, but even worse, the leather tore on the side from where it adheres to the seam between the footbed and sole, again because of thin leather. I even sent pictures to Birkenstock and they accused me of making up a story and saying they were torn from an exterior source. Birkenstock does not stand behind their sandals and they use inferior grades of leather.
