I adore these boots! I'm 5'10" and for the longest time have avoided wearing any heeled shoes for fear of towering (even more) over the average male. Having realized, however belatedly, that my height has nothing to do with anyone else and that I don't need to shrink myself for the benefit of others, I have been on the search for the perfect black heeled boot. After all that research, I came across and purchased these rather on a whim, knowing I could count on Zappos' simple, free, and quick return process if they didn't work out. They did work out, and are pretty much the only thing I've worn outside since they arrived. They look great with tights and equally great with jeans. The chunky heel makes them comfortable to walk and stand in, the zipper glides smoothly, and the place where the rim of the shoes hits my ankle doesn't bother me at all (I've always worn socks or tights long enough to cover that area though, so I can't speak for what it would be like with short socks). These are probably the most expensive shoes that I own, but I feel they are worth every penny, and I look forward to wearing them for many seasons to come (because they are even waterproof!!)

Color does not match the picture at all. In the picture the toe is a slightly different color. In person the color is uniform and a much different tone than in the pictures. It is a light caramel color.

I love these boots but I found that they were to narrow in the toe area and my toes were getting crunched. I went up a 1/2 size and the same thing was happening. I am bummed. Other than that they fit great on the rest of the foot and walking in them was wonderful except for the tightness on the front of the foot. Unfortunately they have to go back.

I tromped all over Paris, Cologne and Berlin in these booties (mine are the black patent) this past December. Worn with merino socks, I was warm in the evenings spent at the Christmas markets. They were comfortable and kept me dry. The rubber sole kept me upright although I will say the boot's a titch heavy. However, I took two pairs of booties, and these were the only pair I wore.

LOVE THESE! Comfortable, flexible and with great traction right out of the box. I was able to wear these for the entire shift instead of switching out my ugly boots into my "cute" work shoes. The waterproof factor is real, they're not as warm as I would like. Neither would I wear them long term in subzero weather, but I definitely think they're worth it!
