I had a hard time picking a chukka-style boot and purchased three to try with the intent of returning two. I ordered all three in size 10 and all three felt true to size, though the Redwing has more room in the end and toe box (Which I prefer). Listed in order of preference: 1. Redwing Heritage Weekender Chukka: BY FAR, the most "legit" boot of the three. VERY Well made, sturdy feeling, not particularly comfortable straight out of the box, though I have no worries that this will not break in and be glove-comfortable after some wearing. It is made with thick cowhide with a waxy finish typical of Redwing Boots. Its the only one of the three that I can see wearing out in the woods and cleaning up to wear to work on a casual Friday. I am keeping these boots and know I wont regret it. I will follow up on comfort in 6 months. 2. UGG Dagmann: Hands down the most comfortable of the three straight out of the box. It's also the most "shoe-like" in design and finish - probably the best suited for casual Fridays in a professional work place. I would have kept these if I was in need of that kind of shoe (Boot). 3. Clarks Desert Boot: Beautiful boot - the nicest finish of the three. Problem is it just isn't comfortable. My heel slips substantially on every step and it has no arch support. Beautiful boot, just not for me.

Really like the look and the feel of the shoes but Redwing needs to take a hard look at the quality. These boots don't provide much support and there is a bit of extra space in them, but nothing that can't be remedied with insoles and thicker socks. However, the bigger issue is that the eyelets for the laces have stretched out considerably and I can't tie the boots any tighter. This is really a flaw in the design of the boot. I wear these maybe 2-3 times per month and have owned the boots for less than a year. At this pace they will be trash within another year. I did notice in the Q&A that some models may have metal eyelets. If this is true than Zappos and Redwing should be replacing the boots that some people received with the defective eyelets.

First off, these are not for working in. They are comfort and style. It has a stitch down construction, so probably not easily resoled. The leather is top notch and supple. The insole included is the red wing comfort force, so you have plenty of cushion. For daily wear, these fit the bill. Size down like you would in moc toe or iron rangers.

If the laces are pulled tight, sides almost touch. Looser tying makes everything feel better and sides are 1/2'' apart at top. They seem to be stretching in the right places so far, but if sides touch, it will be 11C and keep 11D for times when extra socks are required.

Excellent boot for everyday wear. For sizing help, I wear a 10.5 Nike sneaker, 9.5 various style Danner boots and an 8 in LL Bean boots. Quick break in and look like they'll age we'll. Well made and better construction than Clark's latest desert boot.
