They are great, and comfortable in the Rieker way, and an interesting color with a hint of metallic. That I love. This morning I actually thought, I'll order a second pair! But tonight as I took them off I remembered, oh yeah, they turn my feet black. At first I thought it was a first-wear thing, when my socks turned black, but after several wears, the insole (perhaps soaked in dye?!) still turns my foot black right through stockings or socks. The insole is removable and I may try to replace it with another but... who wants discolored feet?! I apologize for the gruesome photo but it shows what I mean... this is my 4th or 5th time wearing them all day, and I was wearing (pale, not colored) tights (I thought that would help prevent the color bleed).

Love these shoes! Black was not available so I got the mineral. It’s more of a silvery color but very nice. I put them on early this afternoon and have worn since. Zipper is so easy for taking on and off. I normally wear a 71/2 wide. Size 39 is perfect.

I have purchased five pair R1402 in the past ten years. My new pair (black) replaces my first pair, thoroughly worn out! Shoe is in tact but edging around the ankle wears down. I totally wore out my first brown pair and the brown pair I wear not is getting thin soled, but I cannot part with them. My burgandy pair is my dress up pair. No wear and still get compliments every time I wear them! They are more difficult to find now so latch on when you see them. Luv Luv Luv my Remontes!

Fit was fine in my usual Rieker/Remonte size. I adore this brand but just not this shoe. Firstly, having the "easy on/easy off" zipper on the outside of the shoe is not as convenient as you'd think. If there is any hesitation in the zipper, it is difficult to use. The style would work better if the zipper were on the inside of the foot, rather than the outside. Secondly, it needs to be a higher "cuff" in today's fashion. It felt like I was wearing a sneaker or 10 years ago, albeit a great color and lovely texture. It needn't be a "high-top", but it would be more stylish if it at least covered the ankle. I hesitated a long time before returning as there was nothing "wrong", just wasn't in love with it as I hoped I would be.
