They're a size larger than I've been getting just because I thought they'd be easier to get on. And they are. But the big feature turns out to be their elasticity. I just loosen the laces all the way (which isn't very loose) and slide them on, even the first time. The elasticity makes that easier than usual and also keeps them comfortably in place without further tightening.
I walked 9 miles in them on the first day I had them.

I love this pair of VFFs and I have had about a dozen different pairs over the years. Ordering a size smaller than usual was a good call. They felt a little tight over the top of the foot at first but stretched to perfect fit after the first couple wears. They are very cool because of the holes but do not keep out dirt or sand.
