Amazingly good quality boot, Red Wing has a great reputation, and they live up to it. Fits great and the color is better than the photo, more textured, does run over a full size larger though, I wear a 12M and chose to go with a 10.5M in these.

Ordered my usual size first (10.5). Too big. Ordered a 10. Still too big. 9.5 fit just right. Equate them to your Converse Chuck Taylor sizing. Still have not broken them in, very stiff at first. I'm wearing them just laced up halfway, and then looping the laces around the rear. They are heavy as hell, like my old English-made docs from the 90's. I have worn them in a torrential downpour already, and was in ankle deep water without a drop of water getting in. So far so good, I definitely love the practicality and durability of these. Can't wait for them to be old and worn-in.

These are fantastic, extremely well-made boots. Anyone saying here that a half size down is how to size is WRONG. Go down a full size. Do the research, save yourself a return. Likewise, anyone saying the break-in is quick, is - again - WRONG. These are notoriously fierce to break-in, but are sooooo worth it. Wear them a few hours at a time at first. It will take about a month and a half of steady wear to get them there. And then, the patina, the customs fit from the thick veg tan insole, the stiffness will come together and you’re good for life. I have major toe issues from bone spurs and have to be picky about boots. I can wear these all day on my feet as a teacher, never sitting, and not think about them once except how good they feel.
