Review for Zappos VIP Points (What's this?)

I got these in the mail for my son 21 days ago. He has only worn them to school, and only on 12 days of school since then. After 9 days of wearing them, a chunk of the rubber covering came off the cuff of the R boot, along the back of the ankle. Now the foam underneath is exposed, and in the few days since, more of the rubber has come off. I also already had to replace the laces, as the right lace was worn almost all the way through after 10 or 11 days. The boots fit him great, and he is hard to fit with a wide, flat foot, and they look great. They provide good support for him, which he needs given extreme pronation associated with Down syndrome. But if they are already falling apart, I don't have a lot of confidence that they are going to last through the winter. I have never had shoes show this kind of wear and tear after such minor use. I am really disappointed at the apparent lack of quality, given the high hopes I had initially.
