Considering I own at least three pairs of La Canadienne's classic wedge-heeled shoes (all purchased through Zappos) it was just a matter of time before I bit the bullet and purchased La Canadienne's Gaetana boot. This boot, unlike its look-alike shoe-cousins, is more difficult to put on and pull off. Once the boots are in place, however, they're so comfortable, you can easily forget you're wearing them. I actually prepped and prepared an entire holiday dinner (several hours of standing) while wearing these boots. But, as I said earlier, they are not easy to remove. The secret is to always wear them with a silky sock or stocking (nylon/spandex/microfiber, etc.) I can get them off by myself, but it's much simpler to have my husband pull them off for me. Never wear them barefoot! You have been warned!

I love these boots - pricey, but worth every penny. I get compliments on them all the time. They look fantastic and can be dressy or casual. They are light and great for travel. They pack easily without adding weight or bulk to your suitcase. They fit true to size. I have worn them for over twelve hours, much of that on my feet (I'm a teacher) and have been really comfortable. I have walked city streets sightseeing all day without my feet complaining a bit, and I'm regularly a Dansko kind of girl and don't tolerate heels well. They are waterproof. They are warm, with the functionality of a snow boot but having a sleeker, fashionable appearance. Plus, they came from Zappos incredible customer service. I will definitely purchase another pair of La Canadienne boots from Zappos. What's not to like?

Great boots! Sizing: I wear a size 7 if barefoot or wearing nylons in Cole Haan, Nine West, Banana Republic and most other brands. I ordered both the 7 and the 7.5; kept the 7.5 because with a thicker sock on (like Smartwool) I definitely needed the 7.5. So if you are trying to decide what size, I'd recommend going up 1/2 size from your barefoot shoes. Fit: I have a 14.5 inch calf (thanks for the genetics, dad!) and this fits fine over my calves. The ankle support is minimal, but completely fine. I don't feel unstable in any way. The construction is good, and the harder ankle portion does not dig in as some other boots do. Comfort: Exceptional! Love these! Warmth: Undecided as we haven't had any bitterly cold days yet. But I love the fact that the sole is thick; that will help. I wish the boot were lined in sheepskin like my waterproof Uggs, but these are definitely much more attractive!

If you are looking for an all purpose/weather boot, look no further! This boot will look great with virtually anything day or night. I was hesitant to purchase this boot due to the high price and it being made only from microfiber, but am extremely pleased with the quality and construction. The boot is sleek and stylish, very waterproof, and easy to walk in. I walk a minimum of 30 city blocks, and countless flights of stairs a day with ease. I have very muscular calves and skinny ankles, but have no problem with the fit. The description is a little misleading as to the padding in this boot (I don't feel any memory foam at all) none the less still comfortable and money well spent.
