I need a wide toebox and the size 8s I ordered (down from 8.5) are now too narrow. Because of the leather construction they might be stretchable, but...I do not normally pay so much for shoes. Thought at first they might be worth it, likely to last forever, but now realize that once the elastic 'laces' are damaged the shoes must be scrapped. The laces are glued in, no way to replace them. So I really can't justify the price given the likely short term life of the elastic. Some of the cost of this shoe - the insole - is already a waste since I use orthotics. Will likely return. I would recommend it if the price drops further because it is otherwise well made and attractive.

I ordered this shoe in size 8.5, and the box was marked 8.5. But there is no size marking on the shoe itself, and when I pulled out the insole to try my orthotic, the insole was printed on the reverse with 9W. These shoes were too big for me, and I don't know if the pair I received was indeed the size I ordered. I will try 1/2 size down. These shoes are very attractive but very heavy so they'd be best for short trips around town, no long walks.
