The older I get, the harder it is to find shoes that feel good, and the more important comfort becomes. I've got no time for "breaking in" shoes that are too hard, too pinchy here or there, or with weird lumps in the foot bed. It's probably my feet that are changing and not the quality of the shoes, I suppose, but there are some WEIRD ideas out there in the manufacturing world concerning how the bottoms of human feet are actually shaped. As far as I'm concerned, for instance, the foot bed of Birkenstock sandals (with their extreme "arch support" notion) can't possibly be comfortably conformed to unless you're an octopus or an oyster. These Teva Original Universals, ,on the other hand, slipped onto my old feet with perfect fit in every dimension. The insole is gently but positively supportive of my arches. There are no pressure points ANYWHERE!!! No superfluous toe-ridge features that mandate where your foot has to fit to avoid paralytic nerve agony. And the texture of the foot bed is marvelous - just a bit of tactile roughness without a reduction in softness. My feet just simply "docked" in them like NASA tailored 'em for me. The straps are perfectly placed, and offer enough adjustability for most reasonable people, I'd guess. Like with any woven straps (leather ones, too, for that matter, one must become accustomed to the rubbing points. But that's with any sandal. I've worn Tevas long enough so that's not an issue for me. Plus - so many nice color options!! This is one of the finest sandals out there, IMO.

Great sandal for everyday wear. Comfy, and goes with every summer outfit. In fact I bought a couple other colors so they'd really go with all my summer outfits. I've never bought a pair of Teva's before so I bought a size 9 and size 8. The bigger size looked long on my foot and was a tad loose. The smaller size felt better and complimented my feet. Hope this helps.

Seemed true to size, but wish the heel strap was adjustable. It pushed my foot forward in the sandal so my foot was about an inch away from the back edge of the shoe. That also made the toe strap not at the base of the toes, but more on the foot. If the heel strap was adjustable, the shoe would have fit more comfortably. I returned them.

My usual size is a women's 8 wide. The womens version of this sandal is too narrow - the front straps dug into my foot. The men's 8 is wide enough. I like that it is just nylon straps and fully adjustable (front strap, instep strap, heel strap). I did have to file down (with a nail file) rough edges at the end of the straps where the nylon attaches to the velcro because I was scratching myself with those edges. But that took all of 5 minutes.

Order size smaller than you would normally go - I typically wear 11s and instead ordered 10s that fit perfectly. Incredibly comfortable, however the front plastic triangle bit (on the outside edge of the shoe) that connects the straps together can rub your foot raw if you tighten the shoes past a certain point. Otherwise a great shoe.
