I've worn boat shoes for nearly 40 years. After another pair of previous Sperry' s have done well I decided to give the upscale gold cups a try. The gold cups pictured did not show having loose exposed laces ( something that would be a dealbreaker) as I don't care to continually retie my shoes. I considered returning do to the misrepresentation of the lace style as pictured.
I have not as of yet actually worn the shoes long enough to go into the detail of such things as durability & comfort. Although I will say the lining isn't very smooth, that may get better or worse over time.

The pair we received is not the same as the one pictured. The tongue and laces are different and I may not would have selected these originally. We are going to keep them but will probably not buy from the website anymore. My husband is a lifelong Sperry customer so we will just buy local from now on.

The shoes were exactly as shown, were well made and comfortable. The lining inside the the shoe and wide width were the deciding factor to purchase the shoes.
