I had to laugh when I read the review from the purchaser who returned these after determining they were too slippery IN HIS HOUSE! I don't know what's on his floors, but I tried mine outside-- on packed snow and icy trails here in northern Michigan -- and the traction was outstanding. So much so, in fact, that I haven't felt the need to put YakTrax on them as usual. Beyond traction, these are very comfortable -- much better support than the flimsy-soled Sorel Cheyenne boots they are replacing. 5 stars all the way!

Although they felt true to size and very warm, they were completely useless. It felt like my socks had better traction. The bottom of these were super slippery. If I was slipping this much around the house trying them on, it would have been a disaster out in the weather I bought these for.

I purchased these boots to work in the yard. I have been disappointed in many other "waterproof" boots and found that the promise was rarely kept. Finally, I felt like I should get a more "rubberized" boot to get a truly “waterproof” boot and purchased these boots. Well, it turns out it worked. The first time I wore the boots my feet stayed dry. I look forward to having the boots staying "waterproof" for a long time. The top portion of the boot looks like leather but is not. This fake leather really does not matter to me given that I am most concerned about being waterproof. The boots are very roomy (which is good) without being so large that my feet slide around inside the boot.

I typically wear a 9.5/10 so I ordered both sizes. The 9.5 fit me perfectly, could have worn the 10 but the toe box was folding over a bit. The insole is really nice quality and good arch support for a stock insole. The insulation is warm and I really love the chukka height. I also tried the full length cold bay and that was taller than I wanted. The chukka is plenty high for normal winter activities. I think it’s the perfect height. The leather and rubber are both very nice quality and I expect these boots to last. The soles are a little slippery on indoor hardwood floors like a reviewer said, but outside in the winter elements they were great. Also driving with them was great, didn’t feel awkward on the gas/break pedals. For the price, these are a really good quality boot and also look amazing. I hope they are still making them 10 years from now when I’ll need another. Maybe I should just buy a second pair when they go on sale for the future :-)

Bought these for my son as a gift. He says they are comfortable. The quality is better than the Sorel duck boots. These will be perfect for walking around campus on wet or snowy days.
