The heel felt right, though, so going with a wider shoe would probably cause the heel portion to be too big, if your feet are widest across the ball of your foot.

My only issue with them is that they have a somewhat shallow heel cup, and my foot slips out when I walk. This happens even with pads I put at the top of the heel cup, which I hoped would grip my heel a little and stop the slipping. I was desperate for a pair of casual shoes in my weird size 11.5, so I kept them. I wear them mostly for short trips that do not entail a lot of walking.

But the color was way off from the picture. The picture shows a bright vibrant red, the show is really a cranberry color. The color makes it looks frumpy and geriatric. Sad, but I have to return them. I feel like I'm wearing a grandmothers shoe.
