Question

wear an 8.5 narrow and need a shoe to support my pronated ankles. What do you recommend? I have tried various shoes and they do not give me enough support. Please help me out. Many thanks.

I found the Saucony integrity 3 womens walker to be good for my pronation, altho I do remove the footbed and replace that with my custom orthotics. They have narrow sizes and plenty of padding, their flat laces stay tied. The tongue is not leather, but mesh, so that is a minus.

I am returning the most recent pair of Propet shoes (Lifewalker Sport) that I just bought, because they were too short. My toes were touching the end of the toe box. Over the past 30+ years, I have bought MANY pairs of Propet shoes in different styles, because they have always fit my feet and they have held up well. ALL my previous Propet shoes, including a pair that I bought less than a year ago in a slightly different style, have been 6 1/2W, and have fit me perfectly. But the most recent shoes I bought, the Propet Lifewalker Sport, 6 1/2W, are too short in the toe box. The toe box of this style is rounded, not pointed, but it has the same amount of rounding as many Propet shoes I have bought in size 6 1/2W in the past. I exchanged the current pair for the same style in 7W, which fits fine. Buyers should be aware that this style of shoe may run short.

I have long narrow feet. This problem is not limited to this shoe; I have had the same issue with the cheaper New Balance styles. The shoe is long enough but not narrow enough in the heel. My foot slides forward and my toes get pinched, making the shoe feel too small and impossible to walk in.

I really hoped that these shoes were a keeper. They're very attractive and are more appealing for me over athletic shoes all of the time, the light gray looked good and it's leather. I wore them around the house on the carpet for several hours, but it turned out they were too narrow, even in a 4E and started hurting my feet. I wear an 2E Extra Wide in Brooks and New Balance. Sadly, I am unable to wear Propet because their shoes are made for narrow to normal feet; not wide ones.

These shoes fit and seemed comfortable, but they made so much creaky noise when I walked that I felt I could not get used to it and would feel constantly embarrassed wearing them. I don't know if this sound would decrease with time, but I wouldn't have the patience to try. I also didn't care for the teeny shoelaces.

As soon as I took these shoes out of the box, I could just tell these shoes would be too small for me (which is a first, because most are too big for me). I have custom orthotics that fit well in every size 5.5 shoe I use them, but these shoes were too short and narrow to accommodate them. Therefore, back they go. So disappointed because they seemed of good quality, and the price was right.
