In the photos it looks like there is a tongue to the shoe but there isn't. It's an elastic wrap that goes over the top of the arch of the foot and isn't very stretchy. I have high arches and could not fit my foot into the shoe even w/o the 2 insoles removed.

The ribbon that holds the shoe string was ripped upon arrival. They do not look like they would hold up for any length of time.
