I just want to update my review of the Helen. I was so excited about the look of the sandals that I immediately wrote a review, but after I read the manufacturer recommendations on the shoebox lid, I had to return them for a larger size. Mephisto wrote that the best fit needs approximately 6-7mm of sandal in front of your toes and the same amount of footbed behind your heel. After the initial excitement of looking at the Helen in sand cobra (it is truly glam!) on my feet, I realized that the size 9 (I normally wear 9½) was too small as there was not enough footbed in front and behind my feet. By the way, I know the size of 7mm-it is the width of my wedding band and a little bigger than a 1/3 of an inch. I love absolutely love Zappos! I ordered the size 10 Helen the same evening I got the too small size 9 and got the 10 the next day! Of course, I returned the size 9 with a quick and free mailing label from Zappos from my printer. To reiterate, a size 9 would take a size 9, a 9½ would take a size 10. If you are a half size, order up, not down. These sandals are stunningly beautiful!

I selected these shoes during a search for summer sandals that I can walk in and I'm happy to say I like them so much that they've become fall sandals that I can walk in! I wear prescription orthotics (to correct overpronation) in regular shoes and have to go without them in sandals. These sandals have enough arch support and hold on my feet, thanks to the adjustable strap, that I am comfortable for long days of walking. On the style side: I tried similar Birkenstocks and Tevas and I found the Mephistos to be more feminine and less chunky in appearance.

Oh my God - most comfortable shoe ever! I have plantar fasciitis and need really good arch support. I wear Dansko's exclusively just for that reason, but couldn't find a cute thong, weekend, type sandal. I read other reviews and got this sandal, and it was heaven from the 1st time I put it on! It did rub between the toes on just my right foot at first, but not enough to stop wearing it. I use this cute blue sandal for weekends, around the house, in the garden, with capris, shorts, skirts. My heels never hurt anymore. I can not stress how comfortable these shoes are, and they are cute! I wear a 39 in Dansko and the 39 here fit, I did have to tighten the strap a bit and am glad that it is adjustable.

I’m pretty disappointed with these shoes. So many highly rated reviews and I expected more from Mephisto brand and this price point. The style itself is very cute and versatile, and looks great with jeans, leggings, shorts or a dress. Unfortunately after only four months of wear (mild activity, a few days a week) - they already have a big crack in the cork just below the ball of the foot, and the soles are already worn so much that I doubt they’ll hold up for very long. Boooo! I wear size 6.5 in sandals and originally bought both the size 38 and 39. I liked the snug fit of the smaller size better, but based on the instructions to size up for half sizes I kept the larger shoe. It has stretched so much that my foot moves around a lot, even with the tightest buckle. I do not care for the fit with the extra length and would have preferred to stick with the smaller size. I’ve recently bought and been wearing Birkenstock Gizeh and like them so far. Mephisto Helens were more comfortable right out of the box, but with this poor quality I most likely won’t be buying them again.

The most comfortable sandals you'll ever buy. I have wide feet and a very high instep and after having foot surgery this is the only sandal I can wear. Great arch support. Lots of great color options. After a while they loosen up but that's no problem because you can just adjust the strap! I've worn Mephistos for years; however, since my surgery I've had to switch from the Ularia to the Helen. Mephisto sandals are the best and last forever. It's just a matter of finding the right one for you!
