I am a long-time wearer of Keds, and this black leather is my favorite for travel in foreign lands because (1) it is comfortable for days of sightseeing, (2) it tolerates rain (machine washable leather), and (3) it looks more attractive than the big clompy white athletic shoes which foreigners consider to be American bad taste.

Keds are great for nostalgia's sake, but all the issues with Keds came along with them. Your heel slips out of the heel box with every single step. The laces need to be retied over, and over, and over, and over again. And that's just in one morning, because the laces will nit stay tied. I like the nostalgia value, and they look cool like Keds have always looked. But I wish I had never bought these shoes; they are more of a pain the in ass than anything else. If Keds really work for you, great. If you have ever had any issue wearing Keds, save your money so you won't regret your purchase.

This shoe runs very true to size in length, but the width is undersized. I have a wide foot but don't usually need an EE. This is my second pair and I love them and Zappos.

These shoes are very versatile and lightweight. I found the Keds sizing and cut a little odd when I first put it on, as it's not like most other shoes out there. (It feels much more narrow than most shoes). However, they seemed to relax a bit as I wore them and were comfortable. I had tried a wide the first go around, and it was ridiculously wide, even though I had ordered a regular wide. This isn't a high tech shoe with lots of arch support, so if you're looking for that, you'll either need to provide it yourself, or look elsewhere.

Classic Keds I look at them in my closet and think of the red canvas pair I had as a kid many years ago, makes me want to climb a tree. There is no arch support but with my orthotics I get the arch support I need other than that the fit and feel is good. I love the fact that the leather is much easier to keep clean and white than the canvas version. Like a great pair of jeans or cowboy boots once broken in they become part of you.
