I broke my foot and needed "slippers" with excellent arch support to wear around the house, something I would wear at home in the colder months (October - April) since we don't wear our shoes in our house. I figured that these shoes would last me for years since I wouldn't be wearing them outside, so I didn't mind the price. Now I see though that they were not worth it. These shoes have not held up well, even though they've only been worn inside. The outsole is completely worn down in one area, the glue is now visible around the cork on both shoes, and the cork has split and separated from the felt upper. They have also lost their shape a bit. I am 5'5", 135 lbs, with normal to narrow width feet. Considering I am not a large woman, these shoes should not have broken down so much. I've owned a pair of clog Birkenstocks for about the same amount of time that I wear outside. The Birks are still "like new" looking. The outsole has hardly any visible wear, the cork has not broken down, and the shape has remained. It would have been a better choice to buy another pair of Birks.

A word of advice to those with broken shoes and cracked cork. When you wear clogs, do not bend or flex your feet. I can see in the photos uploaded that the wool across the top of the toes is creased, which means you are trying to flex the shoe over and over again. Clogs are not supposed to be bent like that. You have to walk in clogs without flexing the sole. Pretend the sole is wood and you cannot bend the shoe. Cork is the soft bark of a tree. Bend it enough times and it will break. If you don't flex the sole, your clogs will last a long time. If you have to flex your foot, then buy the slippers that have the wool felt soles. They will allow you to flex your feet. These are very comfortable. I bought them to wear in house since I have plantar fascitis and should not go barefoot. I forget that I have them on.

I ordered the 42, which should have been big enough, but had to send them back for the 43. Those fit, and I really wanted to like these shoes, but for someone who needs a lot of support under her feet, they just weren't comfortable. I have to say that Zappos made the return process easy - it's easy to get an actual LIVE person on the phone, and they're nice to you. I wish they were my phone company.

I needed some comfortable slippers while I was pregnant and purchased these clogs. They are so comfy, keep my feet warm in winter, cool in summer and really helped towards the end of pregnancy when I had swollen sore feet and post partum. I finally purchased a new pair and would recommend them with caution. I’m not sure how long these are supposed to last only using indoors, but they got holes in the toes, the seem came apart and the cork cracked, about a year of wearing them. I continued to wear them and they got a lot worse as shown in photo. I’ll have to see how long the new pair last before I discredit them completely.
