This Columbia style probably works for normal, no-problem feet. But for my older/sensitive feet they weren't cushioned enough at all, or at least it's the type of cushion. Seems like there's plenty on the outsoles, but when I walked in them I could feel the floor too easily at the forefoot area and they felt cheap. The heels are fine, tho, but it's not the most responsive foam and needs more under the ball/toes. The Wide width was pretty roomy and my usual 7.5 in athletic shoes was perfect.
