Customers Say

Customers find these walking shoes comfortable and supportive, with good arch support and one customer noting they're helpful for walking with a sore hip. The fit receives mixed feedback - while some appreciate the wide fit, others find the toe box too tight. The cushioning, durability, appearance, and slip resistance also get mixed reviews, with some praising the cushioning while others find it lacking, some saying they last forever while others report them coming apart at the toe, and some appreciating the appearance while others find them cheap-looking.

The original Brooks Addiction Walker in the suede nubuck was the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have gone through 6 or 7 pairs of them over the years. When I recently went online to buy a new pair, I was stunned that Brooks was no longer making the original version and had replaced it with the Addiction Walker 2 model. This new Brooks Addiction Walker 2, number one, does not come in the suede nubuck so I ordered the black model. After one day I knew that Brooks had ruined the most comfortable work shoe I had ever found. These shoes are killing my feet. In short, they suck!!!!

Had to return them. Have worn Addiction Walkers for years and always wear the same size. These are a full size too small.

I was disappointed, I go thru a set of the "standard addiction walkers" about every 6 months, they were out of my size, so I ordered the #2, they feel and look like cheap plastic, do not feel like leather. I will ask for refund.

I loved my old Addiction Walkers, I wish they would go back to the old design. The new design doesn't look as nice and the show just feels uncomfortable and firm compared to my old ones. I wore Brooks for years, please bring the old shoes back.

AW2 is enormous letdown from AW1 which I wore for years. I ordered same size as usual and the width and volume of the shoe is much greater. I walk right out of the shoe. The extra volume in the forefoot is ridiculous as is the width of the heel. I don't know if it was mis-sized or the AW2 last is vastly different but the shoe does NOT FIT. I will try narrow but am concerned about the dramatic change. It took me months to find a supportive walking shoe that accommodated my low volume foot and now I may have to start all over again. Sigh. As far as style and quality goes, I agree with other reviewers that what used to look and feel like a quality product now looks and feels cheap and plastic, yet the price has gone up.
