My Tree Runners were purchased for a two week trip across Thailand. While visually appealing with a soft cushion, the shoes had two key issues that made me throw them away immediately upon returning home. First, the laces dig into the top of your feet and require constant adjustment. Throughout my time walking through cities, beaches, and jungle, my feet felt like they were being cut into from the top. This may be due to the design of the lace holes, as they hold onto the laces and prevent movement. Second, quality control seems to be an issue with AllBirds. One shoe felt secure on the heel, where the other was always loose. I noticed a variety of inconsistencies with the different AllBird models that I tried on in store, but had hoped that what I felt with my Tree Runners would just even out during the break-in period. This did not happen. In summary, while I had high hopes for these shoes after watching many videos and reading a number of reviews, they ultimately ended up being my worst shoe experience to date.
