When you style yourself, think about the finishing touches that really make a look go from good to great. It can range from anywhere from a single ring to your favorite cell phone gadget. As your accessory collection grows, think about the pieces and the stories behind them— the pendant necklace that recalls memories of an overseas adventure, the heirloom watch that you received from a family. As the rings, ornamental cuffs, other gifts accumulate in your jewelry box, know that it’s okay to grab for your simple (and probably favorite) pair of hoop earrings and matching choker.
Adding a timepiece to your wrist is always an elegant choice—as you develop into a career, sometimes a watch is necessary. Astronauts lean a more engineered watch, while a marine might wear something that’s tough and built with features (maybe an analog and digital face, chronograph, etc.) Watches can also be personalized to your taste, if you prefer a steel or leather band, or something that can has interchangeable straps. You might lean towards something more luxurious or just fall back on classics like Timex and Casio.
A belt can be a simple addition yet adds so much to an outfit. A braided leather belt can offer a laid-back look while a reversible belt adds versatility. There is a belt for almost every occasion that a growing belt collection shouldn’t be turned away. Some additions to include would be a web belt to for long-lasting wear. A suede belt should also be considered for just an easy look. Women’s leather belts come in a variety of materials, it’s always easy to match a print or pattern. Real leather or faux leather, there are a myriad of animal prints available: snakeskin, tortoiseshell, leopard, etc. Even a skinny belt with a small buckle can be practical for styling a woman’s outfit.
Some accessories don’t have to be worn all the time—hats and sunglasses can make a statement but can also be a temporary addition. When you’re going to a sports outing, you’ll probably want to bring your baseball cap (Do you go for the Flexfit or Strapback?) with your polarized Wayfarer sunglasses. Any outdoor activities will need you to have a matching eyewear and headgear (even in the chillier months it’s OK to grab for a small-brim beanie). There are plenty of lens shapes to fit your face- cat eye, oversized sunglasses, and aviator sunglasses so there is always sometime to flatter you. They offer a myriad of different things—you can opt for a tinted lens, UV protection, or mirrored lenses. When pairing your glasses to your headwear, think about the fabrication—are you wearing wool or corduroy? Is the style you’re wearing a fedora or a bucket hat?
