Great fit, exactly what i expected!

They appear to have great quality. The fit great when I first put them on - the leather is great workmanship and the calf leather around the ankle is great. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to walk in them, i noticed hot spots just behind the toes when I tried to bend the leather. It may have broke in over time, but the flex of the boot was right at one of shoelace eyelets, so that metal eyelet was pushing into my foot when I tried to walk. I'm ordering a pair of the regular Vioz Lux as they come with a wide option to see if that wider foot solves this issue.

Great, attractive hiking boots, not for my feet. I have difficult feet and they hurt at the side of my right foot, they are beautiful though for the right feet.

For the first 6 months of use, these boots were worth every penny. After 6 months of lightly wearing these, something in the toe cap in the left boot moved and the boot is now pinching my little toe and creating hot spots on my heel and big toe. The right boot still feels great. Not what I expect from a $300 pair of hiking boots.

This is my third pair of Zamberlan boots, which says it all. I have never had a single blister, they are comfortable on the first day. I am a standard size 8 and usually buy a 38 in European sizes, but for these boots bought a 40. The fit is a bit large in the toe box, but the lacing system holds your foot back in the boot so that when you're going down hill your toes do not hit the front of the boot. I have high arches and do not need any additional arch support with these. My only complaint would be that the leather on the toe area does not hold up too well, it gets very scuffed over time (although the boots never lose waterproofing). Overall, these boots are a dream and worth every penny. I bought them for my daughter and she agrees. Great for hiking in the Rockies on scree!

I think Zamberlans tend to be wide never the less I bought larger size for extra width. Quality is great but their customer service is worthless.

These are amazing! Blister free from the moment I put them on. They are a bit stiff because they are so heavy duty but that gets better and better with time.

These are great looking boots. My only concern is that if you are hiking in them, there is no toe guard so you scuff the heck out of them. Better as winter snow boots as they grip excellently on snow or ice.

My husband liked the fit of these so much, he ordered another one to keep in the closet in case they stop making them. Very comfortable and well made, though perhaps not the most attractive shoes in the world.

These boots are amazing. Highly recommend. Would purchase again. Purchased as a last-minute replacement for a walking trip in Scotland. 95 miles on the West Highland Way. I barely had time to break them in - maybe 10 miles or so. I did a number of extra waterproofing treatments before we left. They are so comfortable. Required very little break in time. I got a couple of blisters on one heel - but I attribute that to my own anatomical variations, not the boots. I did add Dr. Scholls inserts for a little additional support. But that's because we had such a long hike ahead of us. We had rain - I stayed dry. We walked on cobbled roads - a lot, scrambled over rocks and roots. The boots were great - great ankle support. In fact - I said more than once "I feel like these were made for my feet".

This is a perfect hiking boot, if you have the strength to handle it, seriously. I have been hiking/backpacking for over 40 years and there is no better boot than the Zamberlan, and the Vioz GTX is the best boot I have ever worn. This is my second pair. Why are they so good: 1) Excellent stability on scree or stony downhills 2) Fantastic for long days when your lower leg is super tired 3) Perfectly waterproof because it is a single piece of leather except for the spine in the back Things to be aware of: 1) To achieve the excellent results above they are heavy; can't have it both ways 2) They can be HOT 3) They take some time to break-in; again you can't have a boot with this stability and then want it to be easy to break-in, those things do not go hand-in-hand Summary: if you have the strength and the patience this is the best hiking boot in the world.

Everything felt great except the toe. I feel like size was correct, but narrow toe box made toes sore. Bummer...sharp boot! But for the price, they had to feel perfect!
Zappos Reviewer on June 07, 2018
Overall a great looking comfortable boot. However, the toe/front of boot narrowed, and made my toes hurt after a couple a bit. I had plenty of room throughout the boot, so I feel the size was correct. Unfortunately for the price, they needed to provide as much comfort as style.
Zappos Reviewer on June 01, 2018
The sizing is unlike other Zamberlan shoes. I am 12 in Zamberlan but not in this style. They felt 1/2 - 1 size small and narrow too. I hope this helps.

Usually I love Zamberlans but these seem to be lacking in comfort. The lining could be more comfortable. I bet the Gore-Tex version is a better shoe but they don't sell it here in the U.S.

I really would have liked to have kept these..they made my foot feel very stable and felt comfortable, however the thick fabric would bind right into my toes on each step. Had the fabric been a bit lighter it probably wouldn't have bothered me.

I purchased the Zamberlan Trail Lite EVO GTX to take with me on a trip to Israel and Jordan where Masada and Petra are on the tour. I was told the area is rough! I chose these boots based on the great appearance and fact that they are light weight. These boots are great. They are made with superior quality as the outcome. They are comfortable, true to size and width, and have good arch support. They are worth the money and as beautiful as a hiking boot can hope to be. Thank you Zappos.

Amazing boots! Laced 'em up and took off for a day in town. Brought along an old pair of Docs just in case there was a problem. There wasn't! Wore them all day on paths, on the street and behind the wheel. Perfect on all three. They're light weight but supportive. Solid base but they're maneuverable. This is my first pair of Zams and if they keep delivering, it won't be my last. They've got the great look of old school mountain hikers but they're agile, not stiff. Love the color. I'm surprised a person can get a pair of Italian made hikers of this quality at this price point. FWIW, they are a wee bit roomy but not what I'd call a half-size. I wear 9.5-10, 41 Mephisto, El Naturalista and Birks, UK 7 Docs. I may have been able to go down to a 9, but it's easy to "sock up" or put in a heel pad if I need to. Well done Zamberlan and Zappos!

Absolutely gorgeous shoes! I am heartbroken at having to return - too big - the welted construction I guess makes for a shoe with greater volume than I expected - I love my Zamberlan Vioz hiking boots which fit superbly- and I thought I was getting a low cut version of the Vioz - but no - way too large for my foot (size 13 - both Vioz and these)
Zappos Reviewer on April 13, 2018
These are great but they are not as pictured. They come with right red laces

Nice looking shoe but hard interior and runs big
Zappos Reviewer from Wenatchee on January 30, 2018
Beautifully made shoes, good fit as is, but would be too tight with even slightly thick socks and with inserts, and for me I would need some inserts to make these shoes comfortable. I think they are probably perfect for serious hikers. Big, thick, hard soles and body. Support at the lower part of the shins, which is probably a good thing but was a bit painful for me.
Zappos Reviewer on January 26, 2018
Great but very serious hiking boots. Fit is great, though stiff. Sole is stiff and hard. I think that might be because these boots are made for people climbing mountains and walking for 100 miles at a time. And the sole is probably hard because serious hikers would be adding their own insoles.Too much shoe for me.
Zappos Reviewer on January 25, 2018
Really nice boot. Like a cross between a mountain hiking boot and a running shoe. I have a slightly narrow foot and the fit was fantastic using the sizing recommended on the website (note its slightly different than other European shoe size conversion). If you have a wide foot this might be a little tight. Super comfortable out of the box. Except for the sole, the camo color is actually even more muted than the photo and works well in a variety of settings. Haven't done any super long hikes yet but I expect these to be my go to boot for most days. Quality of construction seems first rate as with my other Zamberlan boots. If you are looking for a mid weight, understated light brown trekking boot that works well in wilderness and urban settings, I recommend this one.
