The look of the bag is great but unfortunately while the strap is adjustable, even at its longest length it's too short. It has to go back. Too bad because it's really nice looking and seems durable.

I really like this bag. Looks professional and is not too heavy. I wish it had a few more pockets for small items but I would get this back again.

Got the small duffel in Black to replace a similar sized canvas duffel. I like the tough material, the zippers feel sturdy, and the bag feels like it’ll last. Shoe pocket is small: it easily fits women’s size 8.5 running shoes but it’d be a squeeze to fit clogs or heels/anything more structured than a sneaker or sandal. The bag is small but good for what I needed and feels high quality. Won’t be using it as a backpack, so not concerned about the comfort of those straps long term.

Looking for waterproof commuter pack which is hard to find in a smaller size. Still a bit big for what I was looking for. I would prefer a zipper to a cinch, but obviously wasn't a deal breaker. The side laptop pocket fits a 13 1/4 screen. A 15" would need to go in the main compartment. Roomy inside, but would have appreciated a few more organizational pockets. The front pouch pocket will be pretty useless except for keys and maybe sunglasses. The gray color is much prettier in person, and I like the grid textured fabric. Overall, I am happy with the bag and hoping it's a good match for Seattle weather.

Overall I am very happy with this bag. It has more storage pockets that I expected, which is perfect for my use. The only gripe I have is that the sternum straps fell of spontaneously sometime during the first 2-3 times I wore the backpack. Also, the clip holding the right backpack strap tends to get caught on things and spontaneously fall off. Not a huge deal as it's easy enough to slide back on, but I expected a little more thought from Timbuk2. The bag holds tons of gear and keeps everything separated, I just hope I dont regret losing the sternum straps.

I was hopeful! It's a well-made bag, sturdy, nice colors etc etc, and the shoulder straps were fine, comfortable without being bulky. But the tote straps seemed short for thick winter coats. And the zippers were sticky -- especially the zipper that closed main compartment. So, although material and size and versatility seemed good, I'm returning it.

Bought this for my college age son and he loves it. It's a really nice color and goes with everything. It's the perfect size for his book and has a nice size side pocket for his water bottle. Love that it is waterproof. Great for the Pacific Northwest. I highly recommend it.

This is a very well made and super-spacious bag. It rolls smoothly, and has handles at or towards each end for easy grabbing. It has a separate roomy zip compartment at the top, in case you are rolling through the airport and need to grab something easily and quickly, such as your toiletry bag in the TSA line. The cons of the bag are; if you want to use it as a backpack, you may need to be the right size and have the right physical frame to do that. I was thinking that maybe this bag had hidden backpack straps, but you are supposed to use the carrying straps as backpack straps. My husband is a bit bulky and broad-shouldered, so it didn't fit comfortably on him, and I unfortunately had to send it back. It would most likely be considered carry-on for airlines like Southwest or JetBlue, but many other airlines have become stricter with their carry-on sizing, so I'm not sure if it would work, but hopefully it would. This bag has lots of room, is very nice looking, and if you have the right physical frame to use it for a backpack, or only want to use it as a wheelie bag, then I would recommend it.

This pack has some nice features and is pretty roomy. But considering its ample size and the amount of stuff you could put into it, the shoulder straps are quite flimsy and inadequate to carrying much weight comfortably. It would benefit from sturdier straps and a tuck-away hip belt to help carry the load (e.g. laptop, lunch, raincoat, water bottle and all the other miscellany of commuting).

You can spend up to $600 on a bag. I'm too cheap. This bag by Timbuk2 is well made, durable and reasonably priced. The material seems like it will repel any kind of stains and will not tear or scuff. The buckles are made out of metal. One of the buckles takes a little effort to snap but hopefully it will ease up over time. It holds a good amount of files. However, I don't think legal documents will fit in this bag without having to fold them. Otherwise I am satisfied. Zappos always awesome on delivery.

I was looking for a backpack to carry my dog for day hikes and bike rides. I like the style of this bag because he could jump right in and it zipped closed easily. However, he’s very small (9 lbs) and he felt like he had a little too much room to move around. The backpack felt lopsided with him in it, which i think would be awkward for bike rides and generally very uncomfortable. Most importantly, this bag was SUPER heavy. My dog is small, but this bag added far too much weight for this to be practical for hiking trips.

Bag is well made, wasn't crazy about the bag in person. The fabric and zippers are definitely heavy duty, and warranted for life against defects. Just didn't think it was stylish or roomy enough and very long and narrow.

Perfectly sized backpack for my day-to-day needs! I was having back problems from carrying a crossbody for years and figured a backpack would be a step in the right direction. As backpacks can be obtrusive in public situations, I wanted something small without it looking like I was wearing a kid's bag. This one is perfect! My sunglasses case lives in one side pocket, while my iphone 6s+ fits in the other. The long key hook strap in the front, magnet-closure pocket allows for unlocking my front door without unhooking the keys from the bag. The medium and large zipper-closure pockets fit everything else I may need throughout my workday: lunch, large Zigg water bottle, craft materials, gum, lipbalm, books, even my small laptop. I love the color, style, and size. My only complaint is the d-rings that attach the padded part of the shoulder strap to the adjustable, unpadded part on the bottom: they hit right in the armpit/rib area. While not painful, I'm definitely aware of them. It's something that might be irritating after a few hours of wearing a fully loaded bag. Other than that, I'd totally recommend this! I absolutely love mine and look forward to using it everyday!

I use this bag for errands, light shopping, and just walking around town when I need to carry a few things. (Typical load: compact trekking poles, water bottle, jacket and/or 2 items of clothing.) I use this as a day pack when I travel overseas -- it flattens to no more than 1" thick. I appreciate that the straps are relatively widely spaced for a small pack. (I'm a guy who wears L and XL shirts.)

I have used a few bags from this company in the past and was always satisfied so I decided to try a roller for an up and coming trip to Greece for 2 weeks. I knew before hand I would do a lot of walking, climbing stairs and traveling through train stations and airports. When the bag first arrived, I was a little nervous it was going to be too small for two weeks worth of traveling. What a surprise! It fit a lot of stuff with room for what ever I accumulated along the way. I put this bag through the journey of a life time. I dragged it through the streets of New York City, Copenhagen, Denmark and onto Greece. This bag was light enough to carry upstairs, dragged across cobblestone streets and up the ancient steps of the Parthenon! I ran this bag through every obstacle you could imagine, and when I finally arrived home, it still looks new. Putting skateboard wheels on a suitcase is pure genius! These things took my travel experience to a whole other level. My friend bought a very expensive bag from another travel company and her wheels blew off the first day! I give this bag 5 Giant Stars!!!!

I really like this bag and it's very convenient, but it does have some quirks. This bag is great for commuting and shopping trips. I wish the tote straps were a little longer because if you have a lot of stuff in the bag it's hard to get your arm through the straps. It would also be nice if the tote and backpack straps could tuck away when you don't want to use them. The one thing this bag sorely misses is more interior pockets. The small pockets on the outside of the laptop compartment are not enough. It would be nice if there were a few pockets on the opposite side of the bag for odds and ends because it is easy for things to get lost in the large main compartment of this backpack. One thing I've been doing as a work around is using pouches or dopp bags to hold smaller odds and ends that I would be nervous having in the outside compartments of the bag. It would also be nice if there were a key strap and if the small hidden pocket by the laptop access zipper were slightly bigger. All in all, this is a good bag for shopping trips, or just commuting. This bag has pretty much replaced my messenger bag as my go to bag for when I want to take more stuff with me.

Accidentally ran over my old work backpack with our car (oops!) so needed a replacement. Was looking to switch from my hiking-esque pack to something more sophisticated/professional. After a lot of searching, this was the only pack that fit my criteria: 1. professional-looking 2. reasonable price 3. can fit enough for my day and when I have to work overnight also (i.e. clothing change, food, my laptop, routine daily items). I train commute usually (good thing given my above driving anecdote!) so I need a sturdy bag that holds up and feels comfortable walking couple miles each day. After trying this for 2 weeks, have to say I'm SO happy with my purchase. I really love this bag. My only (very minor) critique is that the cross-chest strap could have been placed slightly lower. As it is you can adjust it and on the lowest setting it's fine for me. Might have gone down smidge further if it were an option. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints. Bag is very roomy and I can fit all my needed stuff and it still keeps a low profile. That said, I'm 5'10", so if you are under 5'6" this might look a bit large on you. I purchased the oxide heather color, and I love it. Reminds me of some of the waxed canvas looks I've seen that go for around $300. Only thing I can't speak to is that I haven't used it in a good rain yet, so we'll see how it holds up diverting the rain from the laptop area.
