Taos Footwear

Taos Footwear Logo
Founded in 2005, Taos’ footwear was born from a simple idea: create stylish and comfortable footwear without compromise. Designed in Southern California and produced globally in countries like Spain and Portugal, Taos’ influence remains tied to its namesake city of Taos, New Mexico, for its serenity, artistic nature, and casual lifestyle. Signature touches include but are not limited to natural stones, metal ornaments, and playful embroidery, all referencing the area’s natural heritage.

Taos believes comfort is built from the inside out. Their DNA is felt through signature footbeds, which are all anatomically designed, supportive, and comfortable. Innovative comfort technologies like Curves & Pods® design, an orthotic–friendly removable footbed that contours to hug the foot and provide shock absorption at every step, or Cool Recovery Foam®, a memory foam footbed with proprietary gel for lasting cooling comfort, are some of the ways we continue to broaden our appeal to devoted fans. Adjustability plays another important role in what Taos does by offering the wearer a custom-feeling fit.

Buying a pair of Taos shoes is more than just a purchase; it is accepting their invitation to Stand Up and Get Comfortable™!

These are cute, the material was kind of stiff. I have a normal to high arch but a narrow foot and the arch support felt like it went all the way across my feet and the foot bed was hard and hurt my feet. I know the insole is removable and I have insoles I could put in but I just wasn't in love so I sent them back.

I fell in love with the pics of this shoe and, of course, the actual shoes weren't exactly what I was expecting-- the toe box in the pic looked more pointy, but actually it's quite rounded. And, as some report here, these shoes run a little big. So I don't love them, but they'll do. They appear to be a decent quality pair of flats that are comfortable enough-- this may not sound like high praise, but they're the first pair of flats that I've worn in years that don't mangle these tender feet after an hour or so...

This shoe runs true to size which hasn’t been the case with other Taos styles I’ve worn. Cute and comfortable but it slipped too much on my heels.

I normally wear a women’s U.S. size 10, but after seeing a couple reviews suggesting to size up I erred on the safe side and bought an 11 and they fit *perfectly*! They were insanely omfortable straight out of the box & I wore them to a Comic Con for an entire weekend of walking and have nothing but praise for them - even got compliments on them. The teal is beautiful and more versatile than you would imagine - but now I’m obsessed with getting at least one more pair of them in a different color! 5 stars all around, I am in love with these boots.

Based on the reviews of these running really small, I ordered a size 40 and they were about half a size too big (Iusually wear a 38 or 39 because I'm an 8). I'm going to try a 39. Hopefully I'm not between sizes. Even though they don't quite fit, I can tell they'd be super comfy if they did- the leather is really soft.

These shoes have good heel cushioning and a very prominent and substantial arch, but there is no cushioning in the ball of the foot. I knew this would be an issue for my feet, so I had to return them. Also, the prominent arch didn’t seem to hit me in the right spot. They are very stylish though! I was disappointed they didn’t work out.

They looked cute, but they aren't as pretty close up. They ran a little big, a little to long, a little too much stretch where those side cords are. I was just...eh. For the price, it just wasn't worth it for me. Returning them.

I haven't tried on the grey pair I newly ordered, but I have this same sneaker in a different color and love them. As a someone who pronates (a lot) but also prefers to feel a little bit of the ground beneath me, these sneakers hit the perfect balance for me. The arch support helps regulate my pronation but does not make me feel like my feet are wearing braces. The cushioning is sufficient for a general day (the heel padding is a little light, which I prefer, but that might mean that those with heavy heel-strikes shouldn't wear them for long walks on paved surfaces). Over all, my favorite sneakers in years. Comfortable, cute, and a good balance between support and a flexible sole. If my budget allowed me to buy one in every color, just in case Taos stops making them, I would do it.

I have married this shoe and had its babies. We are happy beyond our wildest dreams. From the second I slipped it on I knew. “You. You are the perfect sneaker-type shoe. I feel peace. Joy. Nothing but comfort.” This shoe changed my life. I hope you shoe-review-reading people are as fortunate. Best shoe ever. I’m using the extra laces in the contrasting color. It shoes how far my relationship with this shoe has gone in the 24 hours since I unwrapped this shoe. NO break-in time. Break-in times are for loser shoes. These shoes are winners. Did I mention these are so comfortable I said “Ahhhh” the moment I put them on? How often does that happen in your shoe life? Never, right? So this shoe is special. This shoe has won awards. That I just made up and awarded it. Okay, I suspect you have the gist of my opinion of these shoes now, subtle and cagey as I’ve tried to be. On the fence and all. Good luck and may you find the happiness that this shoe and I have found.

Although I loved the styling and how the boot accommodates orthotics, this boot did not fit a foot that is wide in front and narrow at heel like mine. I'm usually a regular 38, but my heel lifted and my orthotic slid forward and also rolled up a bit. The Taos insert was labeled 38-39 indicating that the boot base is sized long and a bit narrow. When I tried sizing down to a 37, the boot upper was way too narrow in front. Pikolinos Le Mans was a much better fit with similar style but doesn't accommodate an orthotic. Arche boots also fits me.

I am a fan of the converse look, but Converse are too narrow for my foot. After reading reviews that the Taos Retro were a bit wider, I decided to try them. I am so glad I did. I love these Taos! I bought my true size ahead of a trip to Vegas. I wore them around my house for a day first. They were a bit tight across the widest part of my foot but within my traveling day had stretched out. I wore them all weekend, walking up and down the strip with no issues! I also have problem feet and have orthotics, so was thriled these had some arch support.

I first saw this shoe in New Orleans. I live in CA. I tried them on in 42m which is an 11. It was too small. I told them I wil try to find it back home in 43 which I did. I want the camel color but the black was available so I purchased it for size. It's very comfortable and seems like it will last forever. I guess I can say it ran a little small for me. I returned the black and am waiting for Zappos to notify me "back in stock." The boot is a little heavy, clunky looking, but for me its about the comfort.

I really liked these shoe and hoped they would work form, but they are too short. I needed size 10.5, but they come in that size. I thought I could still wear them since they are so soft, but my toes are at the very end. I don’t think they run short, I just needed a 10.5. I would order the size 11, but with narrow feet, they would be too wide. I wish they would have worked out because they are so cute and soft.

With my fallen arches my feet really ache with almost any shoe - but not with this one! They're stylish but even after a full day of walking I feel great - I already have them in Navy and I'll be getting many other Taos shoes in future!

I read lots of reviews before purchasing and sized up, but don't think I really needed to. The sizing chart is odd, 38 = 7-7.5 and 39 = 8-8.5, I think is what it said. I wear a 7 in shoes and often size up to 7.5 in boots, so I can wear thicker socks, so I bought the 39. Some of the reviewers said it was narrow, but I didn't find that at all. I have a bad toe and can't wear narrow shoes at all and most normal width shoes work fine, these accommodate my toe just fine and thick socks too. I decided to keep this size, because they are so very comfortable! It is possible a size down might have put a tad of squeeze on that bad toe. Also, my right foot is a half size larger, so that can be an issue. I found that the 39 felt roomy and comfy, without feeling too big. It took a long time for me to decide to spend this much on these boots, but they did not disappoint. The leather is a very fine quality, I love the zipper, so I don't have to constantly lace... these are just perfectly fabulous boots! If you are hesitating, don't! You'll love them!

I really need an 11 1/2 so the size of the 12 is great. These shoes are SO comfortable and cute. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the sole wears out at the heel.
