This shoe is very pretty. I usually wear a 7 1/2 and got an 8 in this and it is a good fit. However, I was disappointed in the comfort, especially in the heel. I find the heel very hard and the first time I wore them for a long time, my heels hurt. I'm hopeful this will get better once they are broken in well.

Nice boots. Wish the sole was a little wider at the arch. I have very high insteps so have to lace the shoe loosely, and the sides of the shoe ended up bulging, making my foot feel a little unstable.

I am sending these back because although what I was looking for they are tight across the top of my foot and I can feel my toes push against the end. I have several Taos and I wear a 7.5.

While I love the style, they just are not comfortable. First thing I did was remove the insole and replace it with one from my Merrill, that improved it but they are so stiff and and the toe box is too narrow. So cute, wanted to keep them but for $200.00 they need to be way more comfortable.

About one year ago I purchased my first pair of Taos Virtues at a local shoe store. I bought the taupe oil-rubbed leather. Those shoes are soooo comfortable!!! I was wearing the taupe way too much, so I decided this year that I would purchase the black and the blue. I just received them and have worn them already. Love, love, love. For me the fit is just right. As for the concern about being able to distinguish the blue from the black, I agree the blue is a deep blue. But when the blue shoe is placed next to something black, the difference is clear.

I bought in Stone and Camel. On the screen, I was afraid Camel would be too red, but it is not. It's a perfect, rich brown. Stone was too light for me, seemed like an already worn in look. Camel was more elegant. Photos attached.

It's a great shoe! I just need it to be a 10.5. I'll keep it because it's so comfy, hoping my big toes will stretch out the fabric as I wear them. A bit more room in the toe box would have helped. Or a half size bigger.

Beautiful boots. I should've listened to Zappos which suggested a size 40 although I'm usually a 39 in Merrells and an 8.5 to 9 shoe size.. my Oboz hiking boots are 39.5 size and I recall being torn in the REI store where I got them - but the salesperson advised to stick with the 39.5 which felt roomy, but am so glad I did that. So, now that I've tried these in a size 39 and 40, I'm waiting for the bordeaux in 40. They're not super narrow, but the 39 is a bit snug, and I like a wider toe box. If planning to wear these, say, into the city, for an entire day, I'm sure once walking around they'll be too tight. Yes, leather stretches, but your feet swell if you're walking all day. I've been thru this before with boots - and I've learned to go with roomy vs. snug. FYI, the 'blue ink' looks quite black in indoor lighting - the suede/fabric top accent looks dark blue, but the boots sure look black. The bordeaux look brown/purple and I'll hold out for those. The boots feel great - with my history of plantar fasciitis long ago, I always look for a solid sole and good arch. BTW, roomy means I could put a plantar footbed/orthotic in and they'll still feel great. Wrote all this b/c there is so much debate about the sizing of this boot! Enjoy. I'd love bunch of colors but $$.

I ordered these for a trip to Europe that will require a lot of walking. These shoes fit well and were comfortable from the minute I put them on. They are sleek and hip and not to clunky at all! I would recommend!

These sandals are super cute! I have narrow feet, so the velcro straps are perfect! However, the soles of this style are very thin for the price. Glad I got them on sale. Won't be wearing them when I need to do a lot of walking

These stylish flats are just the right ones! I was looking for a flat that has a well-built lining and insole and just a smidge more sole than flats that make you feel as though you have nothing between you and the sidewalk! The Taos Rascal absolutely fulfills my expectations. Fit and sizing are perfect for my 7-l/2M size. They were comfortable from the moment I tried them on and walked around--no rubbing, no slipping, etc. The leather is smooth and the "foot look" is "stylish, goes with anything, etc. Just a great flat! I wore them shopping the first day I received them, and was in total comfort. My kind of shoe!

Wanted these shoes to work - they were the best looking pair and immediately felt comfortable. BUT as soon as I took a few steps, I had heel slip. Compared them to the other shoes I ordered, and found out they were about a .5 inch shorter. Tried taking the insole out, no more heel slip but they were no longer comfy. So Taos, please make sure your shoes are high enough in back -- after the insole goes in -- to grip around the heel.

I have been wearing this same sandal for years in every color. Comfortable sandal for walking . I walk miles in these. Great foot bed for anyone like me with arthritis. Adjustable width with hidden Velcro under straps. My best travel sandals for lots of walking. If Taos ever stops making these, I am in trouble. I always have at least 3 pairs in different colors. I also get a lot of compliments on them. Cute with jeans, dresses, skirts, shorts or whatever...they have more support than you would imagine. #myfavoritethings. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe or a size 39. I order the 9 in the Taos prize..

Gorgeous boot, runs a little small. I am a 9.5, and would need the 41 as the 40 just felt too snug — both narrow in the toe and a little short in the length. It’s really well made and great quality, unfortunately my size isn’t available so I can’t say how the 41 fits on my foot. Love the color Dark Taupe, it’s definitely on the gray side.

It may be my feet; however, these shoes just weren't comfortable. I found the wide width to be great but the shoes seemed to lack any cushioning which for me is important. I prefer Naot brand.

These are gorgeous boots and I would have loved to keep them but one of my legs is thicker than the other and they were too tight in the calf. Had to return them.

The leather is soft and supple. The red is beautiful - rich, yet subtle with a slightly distressed look - perfect for fall and winter. My narrow heels did not slip, which is rare for a boot until it is worn in. The laces also meant I could make them fit along my skinny ankles and calves perfectly when wearing tights and also loosen them a bit to tuck in skinny jeans. I really wanted to love them but the lack of arch support means they are going back. Usually with a heel this height or a bit higher the shank of the shoe sufficiently supports my foot along the arch. I wear stacked heel Fryes and cowboy boots comfortably all the time without the need for cushioned arch support. But even replacing the removable insoles with a variety of different orthotic inserts couldn't keep my right foot from pronating inward. I'm sure the fault lies with my flat feet and not the boots. The boots run large. My foot was swimming in the size 37's (but my arches felt fine) and even with very thick wooly socks the full size smaller 36's were comfortably roomy. The Bordeaux color was very brown and not the deep cordovan with hints of black that the Zappos rep I spoke with described. I wasn't disappointed in the color for long since the nice folks at Zappos sent out the beautiful red ones right away - it's just too bad that my feet let me down. I'm on my 6th order in 2 weeks trying to find a boot that works after no luck in stores (which don't stock much in sizes 5.5-6). Without Zappos' free shipping and returns policy and huge selection, I'd have given up long ago.

The leather on these shoes is super soft. No break-in time needed. The arch support is superior. I loved the look at these and went back and forth between these and another brand. I'm so glad that I went with these. They are trendy and comfortable. I love the ease of the zipper --no untying necessary. I am living in these sneakers since their arrival. They are worth every penny.

Cute shoes, just not for me. I have a fairly narrow foot, and these were a bit too wide, even with socks. I really didn't like the insole. Plenty of cushion, but the arch was so high that I felt like I was walking on the outside edges of my feet. So, I'm still looking for a cute pair of shoes, I just want them to fit.

Beautiful boot. I got the teal, and as others have said, it isn't really teal, it's more of a dark green. I loved the style of the boots, but am sending them back because I have "bad" feet and they just don't work for me, even with super feet inserts.
