Roper

Roper Logo
Roper is the largest manufacturer of both footwear and apparel within the western industry. The company’s casual clothing and footwear for men, women and children are sold exclusively through western retailers across the United States in more than 2,000 stores. Roper's vision for growth can be traced all the way back to the young man who founded the company 59 years ago. Fresh from the service to his country during World War II, Sam Mandelbaum returned to work in production and merchandising at Miller Western Wear. In 1948, after being overlooked for a promotion, Mandelbaum decided to strike out on his own. With enthusiasm, his knowledge of the Western wear industry, and dedicated work ethic, Mandelbaum, with the financial backing of Jack Karsh, opened Karman Inc.

In recognition of a lifetime of contributions to the industry, Sam Mandelbaum’s peers named him to the Western Image Awards Hall of Fame in August of 2003. The leadership of Karman Inc. is now in the hands of Sam’s son, Gary Mandelbaum. Gary shares his father’s vision for growth and continues to make the corporation successful. Karman Inc. is unique in the industry of being one of the only Western apparel and footwear manufacturers and distributors for Roper brands. In January of 1986 under the design leadership of Nancy Leavitt, the company launched the Roper brand with a big splash at the Denver market. Acceptance for the brand was immediate from retailers and consumers alike. A few short years later in 1993, Roper again broke the mold when it introduced its own line of footwear called Horseshoes, unique hybrid combining tennis shoes with boots. Roper managed to create a new niche in the footwear market. Today, the footwear category accounts for about 40 percent of Roper’s total sales volume.

Whether you are looking for casual shoes or hard working boots, Roper has got you covered. Roper designs and manufactures a wide array of boots and shoes for every aspect of the modern cowboy’s life. Roper’s beautifully designed boots and shoes are made from the highest quality materials. From rugged work boots to fun western fashion, Roper boots are made to last.

Very comfortable and stylish shoe. The tread pattern they use is unusual and cool. I have an ankle boot from Roper with a similar look. These are easier to slip on and go in. I get a lot of compliments on them. This company makes great quality shoes and boots.

Fit was true to size on my dinky size 5 feet - which is a miracle. And I (reservedly) love these. The leather tooling is surprisingly good, they don't rub across my big toe cuticle, the style is a little bit western and a lotta kick-ass, but they are still sedate enough for a meeting. Pretty comfortable too. (Could use more cushioning.) My only reservation is that they don't appear to be very well-made where the uppers join the insole. We'll see how they wear, but for now, yum! Going country dancing in these asap!

These boots were cute but I wasn't in love with the distressed wash on them. They were comfortable and easy to wear but I sent them back.

I trusted other reviews and bought a whole size smaller than my regular size. I was rewarded with a perfect fit. These boots aren’t the most stylish but they work in our soggy environment and unlike Muck boots, they don’t tear up my heel.

First time with this brand. Mega stylish, extremely well made. I get a lot of questions and compliments. I also own the lower top loafer version. Same deal. Really great shoes. True size 13 for me across the board.

I really liked the look of these, but when I tried them on I was disappointed, they felt kind of cheap. Maybe I’m spoiled with other brands of boots.

I am returning these boots. They seemed comfortable at first, but after a short period they were not. After wearing them in my house for a little over an hour a couple times it seemed like the heel was wearing down. Not a good sign. One of the zipper pulls was broken. First time ordering from Zappos. They were great to work with. Boots no, Zappos yes.

I normally wear a 7.5 medium, sometimes needing to size up to an 8 because of bunions. With this particular boot, however, the size 7 medium was a better fit. Therefore, I would recommend trying both your regular size and a half size smaller and take advantage of Zappo's free return policy. I look for very good arch support in the shoes that I purchase and these boots are not bad. The synthetic leather looks attractive even though it is not genuine. I did NOT need to unzip the inner zippers to get the boots on, but if you have larger calves, this is nice feature. I will not be wearing them everyday; they are for occasional wear. For the price, I feel they are are a very good purchase.

Super cute shoes and extremely comfortable! The extra padding feels like I am wearing slippers. This was my first pair of Roper brand shoes and I am very impressed. Great quality, comfort and style. If you love the Southwest you will love these shoes!

When I ordered the boots I didnt realize that they had glued on jewels. One of the boots was missing a ton of them on the cross. Plus the shaft was too small and I couldnt even get my foot into the bed of the boot.

Beautiful boot; fits true to size and true to width. No arch support, though--I'm going to need to try to fit some kind of orthotic in there.

This is a cute sort of 'peasant' looking top, but much longer. The embroidery is really nice, the cold shoulder neckline is very flattering, but it's a bit long and boxy. However, I want to wear it for knocking around in on hot summer days with capris so overall, it's good. If I was going to wear it anywhere but around the neighborhood, I'd have it hemmed shorter. The embroidery covers my bust so I can go braless in the heat which is good. Nice quality, too, both in terms of fabrication and detail.

Was torn between these and the Ariat Rylans. Ultimately picked the Ariats because they looked more like the real deal; these were cute but had that fake broken-in finish that looked a little too too, if you know what I mean.

Cute enough boots, but I either got lemons or there’s a design flaw...the stitching at the inner top of the boot shaft protrudes at one point and really jabbed the inside of my calves. I would’ve had a cut if I’d kept them on for any amount of time. Also, although created to look “broken in,” it was obviously fake broken in. Ultimately I might have felt a little silly in them since I’m looking for something that looks authentic (but doesn’t have an authentic price tag! Lol). Going back.

These are great boots! Even though they are not real leather, they are very stylish and so cute! They fit well and are not sloppy big in shaft! They won’t disappoint! Unless someone gets down and really looks at them, you would never know they aren’t real leather! Heading to Austin Music Scene with them!? Super comfortable right out of the box!
