No structure or support. Not a well made safety shoe. Do not reccomend. Returning.

Great work boots. Comfortable and look great. No complaints.

I originally purchased true to size (7) and returned them for a half size smaller (6.5). I received the shoes and still had to wear 2 pairs of socks. I love the shoe overall, the style makes them look like regular Puma shoes. Puma nailed the style, in comparison to their regular tennis shoes. the toe is a little narrow, my pinky toe starts screaming after 6 hours, but it could be because I wear two pairs of socks. The next time I will order a 6 in hopes of getting it right!

These shoes look very nice but they don’t have adequate support. It feels like there is no insole in the shoes at all??
Danielle from Richmond on March 03, 2020
The shoes were too large so I had to return them. They run large. The shoes were beautiful. They felt comfortable and had great support.
Zappos Reviewer on February 29, 2020
They run big but are narrow towards the toe. Had to exchange for a smaller size. Wore them to work and only lasted an hour in them before blisters and pain. Had to take them off.

Faced with a limited selection of shoes/boots that fit my needs for a job where I needed to protects my feets (yes, feets is misspelled on purpose), I had to find something at least palatable to the eye. Lo and behold, the Puma Dakar arises from the west African coast like an elevator shoe with a brute force toe. So, it's not the hottest shoe in the world. It's not your daily runner, jogger or tennis shoe either. But, if your feet literally cannot stand being claustrophobically caught up in boots all day long, these Puma safety shoes are an awesome answer to all of your podiatric problems. Legit steel toe, low-rise sneaker design, pretty comfortable right out of the box and, despite being sized wide, when laced up they fit my perfectly proportioned narrow feet. (I kid on the perfect part, but I'm not kidding about the narrow part.) Do I love them? No. Is it possible to love a shoe with the word "safety" in its name? Also, no. But, I do like them very much and they absolutely meet my needs. Highly recommend.

With a limited selection to choose from (for a specific work-related project), I needed to find a shoe that I wanted to look at and a shoe that would do what I need – provide comfort, support and safety in a warehouse setting. Zappos did not make it easy, with scattered sizes and a website UX that better befits a Geocities website from the 90s, but I did stumble upon these Pumas and decided to give them a chance. (I will now be that reviewer ...) I have only worn them for one work shift, but they were comfortable and supportive – even though it was the first wear and I was walking all over a poured concrete floor for hours. I have narrow feet and it is always a challenge to find shoes that fit well for the longer term, so I'll hold off on making a definitive judgment until I have a little more time with these sneaks. For looks in this category (steel toe, work shoes), they are a win. For initial comfort in the category, seemingly also a win.

The shoes aesthetics are great, the shoe feels a little heavy on the foot, but that may just be the fact that I haven't had to wear steel toe shoes in awhile. I was disappointed with how narrow the shoe is around the toes. Fortunately for me, I only work 4 hours in the warehouse so by the 3rd hour when my toes start to really hurt, I push through knowing I only have one hour left to go.

I have worn these for a week now at work. I deliver food products to a major restaurant chain, so I do plenty of walking as well as put plenty of stress on these shoes pushing and pulling. They felt broke in by the second route and provide good support. I put gel work insoles in from the start and they are pretty comfortable. The nature of my job exposes me to lots of oils and ice on the floors in freezers and I feel confident in the slip resistance. The shoes appear to be very well made and I hope to get 6 months to a year out of them. My job is very hard on footwear! I have been told by numerous people that they do not look like work shoes.

Nice looking shoe. A bit heavy but manageable. Was looking for a composite toe as my job said the site had. Also looked at the video and it stated the same. Went to work and metal detector goes off. So I'm wasting 5 minutes or more getting wand down on my break. Security say it's my shoes. Now kind of stuck with them since I had worn them already, bummer.

best work boots i have ever had-30 years in concrete, 35 in construction. comfort, liteweight, mad style too! lace them up and go to work dirk period. zappos every time too don't forget about that.

out of the box they were a great fit. didn't have to change into my back up shoes on the site. they are the tiniest bit heavier than other steel toe sneaks, but they are well balanced so there is no fatigue. the suede is easily dusted off so they stay clean looking. its a work site but i don't like looking like a slob. they are really comfortable on my 'ladder-days'. the sole doesn't have that reverse bend that puts pressure on your arch. 100% confident on rocky/unstable surfaces. soles don't mark lighter tile or wood - can't remember if they are officially non-marking. i work in high humidity and these shoes do not swamp out when i work really hard. overall super happy!

Size is a touch big fits more like a work boot than a sneaker, which makes sense. It’s comfortable And light I love the nylon bootie it’s not tight enough to not need to lace it for me but I have a narrow foot.

I was hopeful these would be good shoes, but they did not fit per my normal sizing and I did not think they were comfortable and returned them for another brand all together.

I can’t figure out why safety-toe “sneakers” have so many other design compromises. First off, these are at lease a whole size large. Once you get the right size, they feel relatively comfortable, although there’s definitely some excess room. After about a week of regular work on my feet, they were a little less comfortable. I like that they look sorta like sneakers, but ultimately they’re neither sneakers nor boots, and not in a good way.

I have to say that these safety shoes are the most comfortable and well fitting that I have ever had! Since the 80's my jobs have required safety shoes, and I do mean it when I say that these are the best I've had. They literally fit my feet like a glove from heel to toe, but that is my foot. I advise that you really size your foot up to any size charts available, so that you can get the correct fit the first time. I own regular Puma sneakers and used the sizing for them to order my safety shoes, that is why they fit so perfectly first time out.

Shoes are super cute and comfortable. I will need to add an extra insole. I think they run a tad big, I usually wear a 9.5 safety toe, had to return those for a 9.
DeAnna from Oxford, Alabama on March 23, 2019
I first purchased a size 9, which is what I typically wear, it was too big. I exchanged it for a size 8.5 which fits perfect. I would definitely recommend these shoes. The only thing I would recommend is getting a different insole if standing for long periods of time.
Zappos Reviewer on February 19, 2019
Too large, will order a smaller size.
Zappos Reviewer on January 28, 2019
Normally, I wear a 10.5, at least as far as Adidas and Vans fit. I ordered these in a 10 and was swimming in them. Other than that I like them - returning and ordering a size 9.
Marco from SoCal on January 22, 2019
I like the style of the shoes, for steel toe it doesn’t look so bulky. But the only problem this show runs really big, I have bought 2 and have to return them cause they are a whole size to big. And I have notice with the second pair there is no cushion. If you work on concrete all day like me, this is not the show for you.
Zappos Reviewer on January 10, 2019
All my ratings are relative to other safety toe shoes. The main issue with this shoe is it feels like someone glued together 2 different shoes. Obviously steel toe shoes feel hard above your toe, but these also feel very hard under the toes as well. Then the heel is about the most squishy heel I've felt maybe ever? (never tried crocs though...) so the heel is in a pillow, and the toes are in a steel (OK, aluminum) box. It's not UNcomfortable, just too odd of a feel. They're probably the most stylish steel toe you will find, so I give points for that.

I wear these every day, 9-10 hours a day and absolutely LOVE them. I have been wearing them the last 2 years and each pair (have bought 2) have held up remarkably well. I work on heavy machinery in anything from a shop environment to outdoors. Insoles last about 2-3 months so recommend replacing them every couple months. Everyone at work still buys boots and complain about sweaty feet and stinky shoes, I don't have that problem with these Puma's.
