A company with deep roots in human powered adventure, Outdoor Research got its start in the garage of a dedicated mountaineer/physicist-turned-gear developer after faulty gaiters thwarted an attempt at summiting Denali. Experience spawned inspiration, and a revolutionary new gaiter solution was born. Nearly 30 years later, Outdoor Research continues its long tradition of creative innovation by carefully listening to the requests and feedback of its customers, ambassadors and employees, all who push boundaries within their sport.

Outdoor Research enthusiastically supports the outstanding conservation, access and educational efforts of a variety of organizations. Through stewardship and education, the wild lands that provide a playground of adventure for hikers, skiers, climbers, alpinists, paddlers, runners, and backpackers will be pristine and accessible for generations to come.

These hats are good for the summer, especially if youre prone to sweating a lot. They are very lightweight

I love this hat! I have a small head and it is hard to find hats. This one is perfect. Not too hot and looks cute too.

Fits per stated size. Light weight, good coverage, keeps sun off neck as well. Venting is a nice feature, as well as the toggle in the back to cinch it tighter as necessary.

This seems like a great hat but it really has a huge brim. Great if that’s what you want for the beach but hard to see around you when hiking. It’s going back.

Zendo Pants

I really like these pants. I have tried on many hiking/ travel pants over the last few months searching for the perfect pair. These are the closest I have found. They are lightweight, super comfortable, and quick dry. I love the soft waist band, and the ability to both cinch the cuff and roll up for capris. I think they run smaller than the other hiking pants I have tried. I run between a 4 and a 6 in most brands, and found the 6 in these was snug. I kept them and find the fit flattering and the right size, but definitely run smaller than other brands. I'm 5'3" 128lb, curvy on the bottom. Ordered size 6 30" inseam.

This shirt is sized very small. Definitely size up, especially if you have a larger bust size. I am returning because it was just too tight. I ordered a large and I am generally a large - sometimes wearing medium and sometimes XL depending on the cut. The fabric felt very soft, but I am returning.

I returned these because they were too small. I ordered a 6 based on others' comments, but too small. I'm 5'5 and 134 lbs. Didn't return for a larger size because I also didn't really like that they went just below the knee - a little unflattering on me.

These light weight pants are good for travel and warm weather. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the ties are the bottom on both sides just hand loose if you put them up as Outdoor Research suggests. I had to have them shortened just a bit since I'm 5'2"and had those ties taken out entirely. They are easy to wear and to wash.

I bought these for an upcoming trip to Tanzania. Gaiters are recommended since we will be trekking through the mountains for several days. After reading numerous reviews, I settled on these by Outdoor Research, but unfortunately they are way too large for me. The foot size is right but I can't get the velcro to cinch tightly enough around my calves. They look well-made and sturdy, and I've heard they last for a long time, so I wish they fit.

Whether you're out in the sun running, skipping or sauntering, this cap will make you feel cool in more ways than one.

I have worn this skort in a variety of colors for several years and have loved it. Very flattering, it travels well, doesn’t get frumpy looking, and dries quickly. I have gotten many compliments on it. Unfortunately, the new ones I purchased this year are about an inch shorter than those already in my wardrobe. They don’t work for me. I will be returning them
