The all around, all day shoe if you have Morton's toe or Greek style feet. One full size down from my street shoe has me climbing in comfort. So in love with this lacing system as it allows for a perfect contour to your foot. There's a reason this shoe has been virtually the same for 25 years.

Bought these because a guide company told me I would need either these, the TX4s, or 5.10 “Tennies” for an upcoming trip. I have wide feet and read that these have a wide toe box. Luckily for me this is true. I like the comfort, the grip, the lacing system, and the (loud) colors. My go-to shoes for most activities are Lone Peaks but these are keepers. I expect to use them on the rocks obviously but also for hiking and some trail running.

Put these amazing looking shoes in the oven at 200 for 20 minutes then put them on and they immediately formed to my feet. Best shoes I’ve ever owned. Style is dope. True fitting. Excellent!!

La Sportiva always runs a half size small so when you order make sure you go up a half size I own 6 pairs of their shoes they are made remarkably well and worth the price I wear them everyday at work and I walk concrete all day and in the gym they offer great stability when you're squatting 250 lbs all around one of the best shoe makers out there.

Have hiked in them 2x. Once on super rocky terrain aka the AT in PA. I felt very supported in the shoe which says a lot for my narrow foot. Lacing the shoe for comfort and control was a bit challenging than other hikers I have worn, but worth it! My feet were not tired at the end of a 10 miler. I always wear my inserts (Sole) in my shoes, so this review is with those inserts and the once that came with the shoe are removed. The one thing I have encountered, but seems like this is with all shoes--i have to stop and re-tighten the laces to maintain good fit. The soles are super grippy on the snow/ice I encountered. Unlike some mesh shoes, they are warm for me in 25 degree Farenhight weather. They don't feel breezy but this could be b/c of the gtx providing additional material. I think this shoe is wider than the Bushido.

I bought these for hiking when I don’t want to wear heavy hiking boots. These were very comfortable out of the box. I wear a size 7 in dress shoes and 7.5 in sneakers. This usually translates to a 37 and in some brands a 38. I had to go all the way up to a 39 in the Bushido which according to the La Sportiva chart is a 7.5 .

I am not a mountain climber, but was in search of a durable waterproof sneaker that could take my abuse. I live out in the country side, but do not like to wear boots. The Unika is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned and it does feel like a glove. I can feel my feet gripping the ground and they are very comfortable.

I was looking for a light weight hiking shoe for a backpacking trip. I tried many brands as Zappos will attest to.(They were kind enough to keep sending them) This La Sportiva was the best for me. Good rugged sole, waterproof, enough cushioning to be comfortable and weighed a little less than a pounder shoe. Thanks Zappos for great customer service.

Size is true, this is the only shoe I don’t tie my laces too tight or else it puts too much pressure on the top of my foot. These shoes need no break in period. They are great on the trail and I only ordered this pair because I sufficiently wore out the tread on my first pair after a year and a half of trail use.

Super comfortable with a thick sole and superior traction. I chose these as an all purpose hiking shoe and they do not disappoint. They sell them as a trail runner- altho they are really light and vent well they're way overbuilt for trail running, which is why I bought them. If you want a bad ass hiking shoe without switching over to a boot style, these are it.

There is nothing wrong with this shoe, it just didn't work for me. I've owned La Sportiva in the past, and they had a sufficiently wide toe box for me. But these do not. If your foot is shape with wide toes and a narrow heel, it doesn't work to just buy a wide width. The shoe needs to have the right shape. These do not. But they are well made and the sole is excellent. I wish they had fit.

Bought these for my wife. Chose the size based on another pair of La Sportiva's, and they fit as hoped for. She has a fairly wide wedge shaped foot. We did a 5+ mile hike straight out of the box with no issues. She's stoked!

These are well made shoes and super comfortable. However, it has been difficult finding the correct size. It is at least 2 full sizes smaller than they EU conversion recommends. I returned it multiple times and never nailed the correct size but I could tell they were excellent shoes and super comfortable if we got them in the proper size.

Overall I’m fairly disappointed with these. I’ll caveat by saying I also purchased a pair of Salomon Speedcross 4 so much of my review is based on head-to-head use in the same conditions - about 20 to 40 F temps and mixed snow, ice and slush. Comfort is OK but due to the relatively high collar they feel tighter than they actually are, so while on the move they adjust pretty well but when not moving they feel almost uncomfortably tight. By far the biggest negative is that the grip is extremely poor. In the Speedcross I’ve never felt my footing wasn’t secure, but the La Sportivas I slip and slide a lot. Bottom line, these will be relegated to above freezing, dry conditions for me which kind of defeats the purpose of buying a trail shoe that’s waterproof, particularly as these are more expensive than the Speedcross 4s.

I’d been having a hard time finding comfortable waterproof trail runners for hiking and training my dogs in wet agility fields, need something with a reasonable grip. Usually too hard or too clunky to move easily in. These fit the bill. I wear 9-9.5 and got the 9.5/41. I had heard these run narrow but I found the toe box roomy. The heel is almost a little wide, but if I tie them properly no slippage. I gave worn them in some pretty wet weather and so far my feet have stayed dry. I haven’t had them for long so who knows how long the waterproofing will last. They were the most expensive shoes I tried, of course. They are not too bad looking either for a running/hiking shoe.

I was looking for a sport climbing shoe that wasn’t as aggressive as my skwama but still had good support and edging for technical routes. My street shoe size is 10, my skwamas are 41.5 so I went with 42 for these. The size turned out perfect. If I was climbing high 12s or 13s I might want a 41.5 or 41, but as I climb high 11s low 12s these work great. Comfortable, but still offer great support, good edging, and my heel hooks feel solid. I do have narrow feet. Also, as with the skwama, as the shoes breaks in there is some irritation to the achilles tendon. This goes away as the shoes softens up. Couldn’t be happier with this shoe.

I have been on a desperate search for the right trekking shoe. I think this may be it! I have a very narrow heal but a wide forefoot and no padding on the ball of my foot. This shoe addresses all those issues. And Zappos’ selection and return policy is the best!

This shoe was perfect in every way except it is too wide mid foot. Plenty of toe room, very stable over all and hugged my narrow heel. Someone with a normal to wide foot would probably love the fit.

I was extremely excited about these boots. I know they run a little small, so I ordered a size larger. Apparently the company added some sort of interior boot without adjusting for width. Now what do you do? two sizes up? Clown shoe size on the mountain? Unfortunately, La Sportiva not everyone is built with skinny feet. Please make wider sizes and compensate for interior add-ons.

I loved these shoes in terms of looks and comfort. However, I took them on a hiking vacation and the soles started peeling away from the toe after ~7 days. I’m trying again. Hopefully my next pair will hold up better. They run on the small size so I’m also trading in for a 1/2 size larger.
