I was extremely excited about these boots. I know they run a little small, so I ordered a size larger. Apparently the company added some sort of interior boot without adjusting for width. Now what do you do? two sizes up? Clown shoe size on the mountain? Unfortunately, La Sportiva not everyone is built with skinny feet. Please make wider sizes and compensate for interior add-ons.

I loved these shoes in terms of looks and comfort. However, I took them on a hiking vacation and the soles started peeling away from the toe after ~7 days. I’m trying again. Hopefully my next pair will hold up better. They run on the small size so I’m also trading in for a 1/2 size larger.

Bought for trail running on steep rocks, mud, etc. Fit was on the smaller side... if you are between sizes I would go up. They looked nicer on than the pictures. Good lugs. I felt they didn’t have enough cushion and were a little too narrow for my needs.

These are probably the best pair of purpose built shoes I have worn. Very sturdy and extremely comfortable. Bought them for a marathon ruck and they were great. Now they are my golf shoes because they grip so well and are far more comfortable that regular golf shoes.

I am on my 4th pair now... ordered 7.5: too small, 8.5: too big, 8: stain on toe, 2nd pair of 8: waaaay too small -- they say "8" on the box and the label but there's no way these are a size 8, I'm not even sure they're a 7, mismarked for sure. Quality control much? Such a shame as I typically love La Sportiva... not sure what's going on with these!

Should it be this difficult? Ordered 7.5 (from Amazon) - too small. Ordered 8.5 (Zappos) - too big. Ordered 8 (again, Zappos) - fits great but there's a stain on the toe? I realize I'm going to wear them in the rain, mud, etc. but for $160, thinking these things should be vetted before they ship and they should at least be 100% upon arrival. Do really like them and have had great luck with La Sportiva in the past, thus willing to slog through the process. Ordering another 8... 4th time is a charm?

I have been searching for a low hiking boot for awhile with no luck. Most have been way too wide in the heel for my foot. This boot fits perfectly with no heel slip. They are stiff and great for longer day hikes.

My Shoe choice basically depends on two things: 1.Do I want to carry the shoes? 2.Do I want to let the shoes carry me? These Shoes belong to the 2nd category(not in the literal sense). All in all very good shoes.

I really like the look and the sticky-aggressive sole on these boots, but as one reviewer mentioned, the toe box especially near the ball of the foot is much narrower than expected. I had to return these because of this. I ordered a size 13 and they felt like a "narrower-than-D-width" size 12 while using my normal mid-weight wool socks. Total bummer man!

I usually wear a size 5, but got a 5.5 because that was the size that was available. I'm glad I did! The 5.5 fit well (5 would've been way too small). I might've been able to go up to a 6, but I was going on vacation and didn't have time to order another pair. These worked out great, though. I spent 5 days hiking the mountains of Colorado and didn't get a single blister and had no hot spots! There was no break-in time needed; they were comfy out of the box. The best part is how grippy the sole was. I felt secure going over rocks/trees/etc. Would definitely get another pair of La Sportiva!

These were recommended to me by running friends, so I got them while they were on sale. Definitely narrow and had to go with a half size larger than I normally wear. I have to wait for the snow to fall in a few months before I can really test them out, but they felt ok wearing them around the house.

I have bought maybe 10 pairs, if not more, of this shoe for my boss from different companies because he loves them so much and is afraid they will be discontinued, but when he received the shoes from your company, he said they looked used (the tag was torn off and just thrown in the box with the shoes). This is why we are returning them.

I believe these are awesome trail running shoes, but they did not work for me. I'm writing this review to help others figure out if the shoe will work before it’s too late. I was replacing my Sportiva Wildcats, which have served me pretty well, but rubbed in the heels so much that I always had to tape up before wearing. I wanted to dispense with this. The Bushidos seemed like the perfect replacement, and felt great in the store and around the house, but once I started up the trail they tore my heels to pieces. I was able to mitigate this by taping up and by removing my aftermarket insoles (using the shoes with nothing inside). But the cruel irony is that they were much worse in the heel department than the shoes they replaced. Over the course of this ill-fated hike, I learned that in every other way the shoes rocked. They fit my forefoot and midfoot like a glove … snug and controlled, but soft. They have decent arch support. They are low-slung and exceptionally stable and precise. And the outsole grabs aggressively both on smooth rock and on loose dusty gravelly choss. And they’re light! What’s not to love? Besides the huge welts on my heels? I tried really hard to fix the heel issue. I tried the original thin insoles, a thinner version of my Sole insoles, extremely thin socks, mutliple lacing arrangements, and finally, another pair of Bushidos sized up a size. Nothing fixed it entirely. I figured out that a big part of the problem is a low heel pocket. If this fits your heel, it’s evidently great. If it doesn’t, look out. What’s insidious is that if you’re taking the kinds of small strides that you probably take when walking around the house or the store, you may not notice this. I recommend taking to the gym, and giving them a workout at many speeds and inclines on the treadmill. You’ll keep the shoes in new condition so they’ll be returnable, and you’ll really figure out if they work for you.

The shoes were true to sizing (I'm an 8M), comfortable, and felt like they would provide great support. They were light and flexible with adequate arch support, but I was looking for a softer inner sole--- something on the order of Sketchers memory foam. So, unfortunately, I had to return this pair, but would honestly recommend this shoe for most people.

Owned these shoes for 6 months now and I’ve got compliments on how they look! Wore them today in the pouring rain and came home with dry socks after 27 holes on the golf course! Took a week to break them in.

I ordered these boots after wearing the Synthesis for a few years. The Synthesis didn't have a good sole for rockier hikes so I stepped up to these. I just got back from a 10 mile hike and they did great! The gortex held up in river crossings, they gripped as well as my companion's shoes (also new Sportivias), I had absolutely not hot spots or blisters forming, and not once did I have to adjust my laces! My feet are sore from the rocks, but to be fair I think you will be sore no matter what after walking on first size rocks 2+ hours. I can say my feet are nowhere as beat up as they were in my other boots and the top of my foot was much better protected. Without going upgrading to a full boot I think these did their job. I will likely try out an insert as the arch support/cushioning wasn't as good as I like. I sized up .5 size from my typical shoe size as I thought my actual size was a tad narrow in the toebox (EX: 39.5 in other Sportivias (8) and got a 40 in these). WARNING - the light color will get dirty. Overall great shoe!

Was wanting a more rugged shoe for light off-road use in potential wet areas, but wasn't wanting a heavy hiking shoe. These fit the bill perfectly. Only been using them for two weeks, but so far I really like them. We'll see how they hold up. Definitely listen to the reviews about sizing up with this shoe. I have a narrow foot and usually wear a 9-9.5. Tried a 9 in this and didn't stand a chance in it. A 9.5 was better, but still too tight. Got the 10 and it fits perfectly. I'm not sure I've ever worn a size 10, but definitely needed it with this shoe.
