These felt like they were going to be excellent hiking and trail running shoes. The cushion was quite soft under foot but the tread was minimal. They seem to run about a full size small (at least for me). Otherwise they are an awesome addition to LS’s collection.

Way too stiff. Returned. Straight jacket feel but pretty design.

I based this purchase on the Wildcat shoe which I love. These to not fit at all like the Wildcat and do not work for me.

Everyone’s foot is astronomically different. I in no way shape or form think these particular La Sportivas run narrow. In fact the reason I keep buying these is because they aren’t narrow. Plus the materials and proper lacing technique allows for a wide range of foot size and shape. I’m anywhere from a size 10 (Zamberlan 103/104’s) to a size 11.5 (Wildcats). I believe a half size up if not a full size should work for most people but the fact is you can’t rely on what you read. There’s an overwhelming amount of people walking around with improper fitting shoes. It’s 2018. Return policies are insane so don’t trust reviews just try them yourself. As others mentioned the air can be felt on your feet and it’s amazing. I prefer to backpack and hike with shoes that can dry out fast/drain as opposed to what everyone prefers, Goretex/Waterproofing. Nothing worse than a goretex boot taking 3 days to dry out.. I’ll keep buying these because they are comfortable, built well and breathe better than any shoe I’ve tried. As far as lateral stability (for those with a bad ankle) these are not the best, in fact if you look at the shoe from the back on a flat surface you will see it naturally leans outward. I have a bad ankle and was paranoid at first that I would roll my ankle easily but so far I haven’t. The other overwhelming reason I love these is that there isn’t a bulge in the arch support area like Salomons have. I have nearly flat feet (but not completely flat) and can’t stand shoes with arch support.

If you have a “La Sportiva” foot these are great. I went to these from the Miura VS. I’d say the toes are a bit less precise with the Kataki, but they work very nicely in cracks.

I am very pleased with the LA Sportiva Akyra GTX. I was specifically looking for a sole that would not slip on wet cobblestone and rock walkways during the rainy season in the highlands of central Mexico. My Tevas, chacos, and merrills were all sliding around in these conditions. Online research pointed to these. They are comfortable with a nice arch support and not as flashy/"notice me" as some of the other hikers. The toe box is wide enough for the downhill climbs. I appreciate that they are available in a women's 11/ 43 size. They fit true to size and work well with my custom orthotics. I have only had them a month but am very happy with them so far. Comfortable from day one. I do notice that I sit up a bit higher than usual because of the thick sole but worth it to not feel the cobblestone rocks on the soles of my feet. More than I typically spend on a pair of walker but worth every penny if they don't slip around on the wet rocks this rainy season.

Despite having prior La Sportiva shoes that fit well, these were too narrow in the toe box. Needed to return them.

I returned these shoes. I’m 11.5 in most shoes (Altra, Salomon) but the stated 11.5 (EU 45) is just too tight. I’m eager to try the Bushidos in 45.5 when they are available.

I have never had this brand of shoe before. I have had a terrible time finding a good, comfortable, waterproof shoe for work. This shoe is exactly what I have been looking for. Comfortable right out of the box. I am in the medical field and am on my feet all day. These shoes have been wonderful. I have been wearing Keen exclusively for the last several years and was really scared to try something new. So glad I did. They cost a little more but definitely worth the extra money.

Great shoe! This shoe fits exactly like my sneaker size. My old Solomon’s that these replaced were 10 and these were 10 as well. Perfect fit. Great performance as I’ve come to expect from la sportiva. I got the shoe in orange and the accents on the sole are lime green. The laces and logo are yellow. It looks good but the picture makes it look like the sole accents are yellow which is not true.

They look great and seem comfortable. But after wearing them around town, I'd be concerned about stability and support on uneven terrain. There not really even close to other LaSprotiva shoes I've worn in that way.

I am a woman with a large foot and this shoe fit me very well without feeling too masculine. Sleeker but rugged enough for walking and hiking in Scotland, and waterproof. Fantastic service from Zappos

Even though the size chart for Zappos says that Euro size 40 is a US size 9, the drop down menu for these La Sportivas shows that Euro size 40 is a US size 8.5. I worried this was an error, and since there was only one pair left, ordered the size 40. Indeed, they were too small. I ordered the next size up and they are perfect. Very comfortable.

These are narrow, VERY VERY narrow, size up at least 1/2 size and they still feel narrow. But if you can squeeze into these they are sublime. The grip is absolute world class and they look like they're straight out of italy... they look good. Also, dont try wearing socks with these because it won't feel right, clearly designed to be worn sockless. Except for the width of the shoe, A+

Excellent shoe for trail running. It was time to finally replace my L.S. Crosslites, and I didn't see an obvious model with the same features as I loved with my Crosslites -- namely lightness, narrowness and traction to allow for aggressive trail running over the sketchiest of terrain. But these are it and more! These have firmer arch support and the sole is lugged but gummy enough to handle rocky scree. Similarly snug fit on my narrow-ish, low-volume feet, and better fit for my heel.

read online reviews and this was at the top for low cut hikers....the reviews are correct. no break-in max comfort. out of the box spent a few days on the trails around pike's peak. in the evenings i wore my lowa san francisco and what a difference. hands down la sportiva wins for comfort.

These shoes are so comfortable! I would have kept them if there were other color options. I also felt that the toe box looked a little too wide. The toe box felt great and I didn’t slip around while wearing them but I wasn’t fond of how wide they made my feet look. Still overall, they are a great product. Comfort and price are winning!

Fantastic shoes in all respects. Great stability protection and always reliable when you need it the most. Toe box is quite narrow for me, so that takes some getting used to, but I managed. The shoe is also quite warm, so I would not recommend in summer if you have sweaty feet.

I love the look of these but I am really nervous about how the laces are held in place. They have a fabric loop, but the loop is held in place by a long strip of glue. I really worry if the glue gets worn I will lose the ability to use the laces. I might be being too paranoid but it just didn't seem like a reliable way to secure laces.

These run very small. I think they would be comfortable if they were true to size.
