Iron Age

Iron Age Logo
The Iron Age™ brand has been at the forefront of the boot making industry for over a century. In 1918, hard fiber toe caps were introduced to their protective work shoes. And in 1925, they were one of the first bootmakers to utilize brand new steel toe technology. Built for dirt, sweat, and grit, their work boots can be found at worksites across the country.

While Iron Age footwear is made for tough environments; they also actively participate in the reduction of any detrimental effects on the environment in their manufacturing process. Environmental compliance with laws and regulations protecting the environment is paramount to their organization. Their company and their business partners utilize energy efficient utilities, use production methods which are eco-friendly and they recycle significant portions of the waste they create.

Iron Age footwear continues to flourish as America grows, and while it has not always been an easy road, they are proud to still be kicking.

Tough then. Tough now. The work hasn't changed, so neither have they.

Seems to be off by two full sizes, and I’m done shipping them back and forth. Started with my usual 10.5W (see previous review) then tried a 9W. They were better when walking and standing but with the extra almost inch of space at the heel, they’d probably be an issue once the materials stretched. If they’re off by two full sizes, what other quality control steps in manufacturing are they not paying attention to? S’not my feet- I can order other brands of boots and shoes in my usual size and wear them without issue.

If you want your boots to echo, order the size you normally wear. They run quite a bit large. Expect lots of ordering, returning, ordering, returning to get the size right. Style: It's a great look if you are green and have bolts on your neck, or are participating in a reality TV show where you competitively make swords, armor, or just want to take attention away from your flat-cap and handlebar mustache that isn't quite handlebar-ish enough to take wax yet. I'm just trying to make sure my shoelaces don't smolder if something drips when I'm welding. Sizing: 10 1/2 wide should probably be a 11 1/2 or 12 wide. After several tries I'm hoping 1 1/2 sizes smaller will work. The boots are not not as heavy as they look, felt comfortable on the test fit (where I was worried my foot disappear into the abyss), and give the appearance of being well made. If they really meet all the safety standards* they're a good purchase if the size thing works out. *Meeting the safety standard is not an approval assigned after testing by an impartial source to ensure they're legit, they're self assigned by the manufacturer.

I feel terrible returning this boot but I wear a prosthetic ankle brace. The boot does not have a loose tongue that I need to be able to slide the brace inside the boot. I have no trouble in wearing a tennis shoe with a loose tongue similar to the New Balance 608 model. If I could find a boot with a loose tongue; it would work for me. Thanks

The shoes look great but are quite wider than other D widths I've had.

The shoes looked great, but they're a little lacking in support. And because of the steel toe they feel about a half size too small. I normally wear narrow shoes and these felt really narrow. Would suggest getting a wide.

I really love how they look. They don't have too much going on and they're simple. I also love the color. They fit perfectly and had no trouble breaking them in.

I don't feel too awesome seeing that the price has dropped 25% since I purchased the item.
