About a week ago,I bought these house shoes/slippers for the arch support so I would not eperience lower back pain and so far I have not been disappointed. They are comfortable wearing around. I followed others advise about ordering a size up from my normal shoe size and found that advise to be very true. Look forward to enjoying these slippers for a long time to come.

I LOVE these shoes and have been living in them ever since they arrived. The key to getting the right fit is to check the Size Chart and measure your foot. I normally wear a size 10 but when I looked at the Size Chart, I realized I would need a size 11. They fit perfectly.

These are the most comfortable house slippers I've had - the arch support is excellent and they are warm. This is my second pair and I made it a point to find this exact style again because I've the fit is so good.

These slippers have been worn sparingly and primarily on carpeting, but rubber soles are so thin that they did not last. The first pair I purchased (many years ago) lasted for years, so don't know what accounts for the poor quality of the current pair. I will not purchase Giesswein slipper again. Very poor value:cost. I will try Allbirds loungers and hope for better results.

I really like these, other than the fact that they don't have a very feminine look about them. The fit is great and there is some arch support. The bottom is rubberized, but not hard or stiff. They've been my 'go to' house-shoes for the winter. I put them through the wash a couple of times; the first time they came out very nice...the 2nd time though, I think maybe the fabric (wool) wore a little thin. Odd, because the thinness is one of the attributes. Then, I sometimes wouldn't put the back of them on, and wear them like a slide. But that area now has worn thin, with holes. I would have liked it better if the wool didn't somehow wear thin. But instead of buying another pair, I think I'll get out the darning egg and attempt sewing them up. Can't see the price times two for one season's use. How about some other colors, but not muted! It seems the great majority of this brand uses muted colors, not clear shades. Black would be cool. A black, slip-on and/or slide would be awesome. One other thing...the bottom has worn thin too (see pics)...and it was constantly picking up crumbs and flipping them into the slippers. I can't tell you how many times I took them off to shake crumbs out! But still...they're my go to's...just like an old worn pair of...well, you know.

I really liked this slipper but I am surprised and disappointed by the workmanship. The rubber sole is so thin it's worn away in just 15 months and exposed the wool base. Never worn outside even once.

I love these shoes! I first tried Hafflingers but they have changed considerably since I last bought them and they were way too big. These fit, have a comfortable arch, and look great with jeans.

These slippers are warm and the traction is great but the durability is horrible. I purchased these Mar 2018 and exactly one year later the rubber sole is wearing away and holes have developed in both slippers where my big toe is.

Buyer beware. I received these two days ago and loved them initially. After a few hours of wear inside my house the insoles flattened down and the slipper stretched considerably. I contacted Zappos because I paid a lot of money for these slippers and the quality was not what I expected. The Zappos representative told me that according to their records the pair I received were actually made in Fiji? The label inside the slipper says it was made in Austria, I'm now convinced they were made in Fiji. Very disappointed.

Like many of the reviewers I need a "wear around the house slipper with arch support", and as much as I wanted to love them, I couldn't. I usually wear a women's 9-9.5 size shoe, and after reading the reviews ordered a size up to a 10. Slipping the shoe on was my first challenge as the hole doesn't allow for a "quick" slip-on as the foot hole is a bit small. Next, the length was about a half a size too small as my toe kept hitting the plastic (?) inside the toe area, and then the heel area was too large even after cinching. Lastly, the arch support was awkward as it was located about a half inch to the front of where my natural arch is. As cozy and warm as the shoe feels, it was just the wrong fit for my foot.

First problem is the heel/ankle part of the shoe is way too large. The rest of the shoe might fit with the correct thickness of socks, but with the heel so large, its impossible. I've tried the other versions of this shoe with the same result. I love the felted top fabric and have 2 pairs of the "vent" model which have a wrap around tie to keep the heel from getting too large. I really wish they would rectify this problem.

The felt material wore out in less than three months, and I now have three big holes in the front of the slippers, on both feet. These slippers are not worth the money.

These slippers are very comfortable and handy for just running outside to get the newspaper. They are on the small side of their sizing, but I have a very wide foot and I know from other purchases that the wool will conform to my foot over time. They are good right out of the box and just get more comfortable. I like the gnomes.

I have had these slippers previously, usually the style Vent. I had trouble with them developing holes at the top of the shoe and not from the inside. I love the support and the fact that they breathe so thought I would try the Tahoe. I like the material better, seems thicker but the toe area has hard plastic inside which you can feel with your toe and is uncomfortable even in the larger size. I ordered two pair, a 10 and 11, one is too small and the other too big but still felt the plastic area on my toe. I wish them came in half sizes and didn't have this plastic inside, both pair are going back.

Make sure and buy at least one size larger than you wear. I normally wear an 11.5 and ordered a 13. 13 was perfect.

I think these are beautiful in an interesting funky way, and very well-made. I'm a size 9, and the 9/40 fit perfectly -- not too short, and a good width. So, these were true to size for my feet. I also liked the toggle thing to adjust the fit around my ankle. The arch support was pretty intense. Obviously a lot of people like this support, and it's possible I'd get used to it and like it too. But that uncertainty, along with the high price were too much for me, so although I loved everything else about them, I returned them.

This is my 3rd pair of these slippers. I keep coming back because I love them. I have a high instep and appreciate the arch support. In addition, the slippers are soft and warm, but with an open back, not too warm.

This is an update to a previous review. At first the slipper was a bit narrow for my wide foot and high instep so I had to remove the footbed, but within a week they fit just fine. Nice and warm too.

These have a wonderful footbed. Ahhh. I found the wool on top thinner and scratchier than Haflingers. I have worn them for years, but I wanted the rubber on the bottom that these offered. Unfortunately I would have to wear socks due to the scratchy wool. I am very sensitive to wool, but have been able to wear halflinger slippers and clogs so I thought these would be ok. Back they go, and back to my old faves.
