I got one size smaller as recommended. They barely fit in length, but my narrow feet pop right out the back of these when I walk. Adorable, well made, but sadly no use for my narrow feet.

The problem was not at all with the slipper. The size, width and support were fine, but most shoes and slippers cannot accommodate a foot that previously had a very bad break. These slippers do not work for that foot. Other relatives have splurged for this slipper and have loved it.

These are extremely comfortable and supportive slippers. I ordered my regular shoe size and they fit well both with and without socks. If you wear slippers without socks and like a closer fit, I advise you to order a size down.

First, let me say that these shoes are very well made using a very expensive looking boiled wool. However; I have very high arches and so I usually can accommodate that situation by buying wide shoes. These had plenty of room at the toes and extra room not needed by me at the heel. This is an issue commonly facing those with high arches, as they often don't need any other part of the shoe wider. I needed only to slip on one shoe and I could feel the top of the shoe over my arch pressing in. I wouldn't let that discourage you from purchasing the shoes, as I would have kept them for sure if they fit. They have that classy "Austrian Alps" vibe that can be worn with pants or jeans of any style, even wool dress slacks. They would not have been relegated to a mere slipper status if they fit me. That being said, a fine-looking slipper that you love will probably be worn more than your other footwear during this current "Bunker Living" era.

Comfort and style were not the issue; quality was. I really liked these, but they were too expensive for how long they lasted--just a little over a year. I wear them constantly because I'm a stay-at-home mom and need an orthotic to prevent lower back pain. By the end, the rubber bottoms had worn through to the wool, they stank to high heaven (even though I wore them with socks), and the decorative stitching was coming out. If I spend over $100 on slippers, they need to last several years. I've also tried Acorns (fell apart in 6 months) and Sorels (still have them as back-up slippers, but I don't LOVE them). I may go back to cheaper slippers and buy a new pair every year. If I want something that's going to last, I might as well buy a pair of shoes I only wear inside.

I wear a 7B. These are cute shoes... but made for a big wide foot. The length isn't the problem, it is the wide opening for your foot, even a size down isn't going to decrease the width enough. I usually buy Haflinger slippers, and really like them, but thought I would give Giesswein a try.

Very nice slipper but sizing is generous so had to re-order a full size smaller. I wear a 6.5 wide in all shoes so ordered the Women's 37 (6) and it was a bit too long and very wide. Since everyone says these stretch I re-ordered a size 36 (5) but kept the 6 just in case they were too small. They fit perfect. Length was exactly right and still plenty of room in the slipper so I'm returning the 6. I had boiled wool slippers years ago and loved them. They lasted for years so I'm hoping these will be the same.

I have problems with Plantar Fasciitis and need a good support while at home. These slippers are very comfy and supportive without being heavy and hot on my feet. The rubber sole is also good if I need to pop into the garage or out to the garden with the dog. No worries of getting feet wet. Would certainly buy again.

Glasswein does it again — this is a supremely comfortable slipper with a soft footbed and moderate arch support. Not as much arch as a Vionic, but enough to be comfortable on hard floors. The synthetic sole lets me wear them outside, which I miss with my other soft-sole slippers. I bought my usual 9, and there is enough room in the toe to wear a sock if I choose. This one feels like it will last for more than a season, which it should at this price.

I have narrow feet, generally a size 7 or 7 1/2. I wanted house slippers that were substantial, slip-on and "cool". I tried Haflingers because they had really cute styles (especially the bubble design) but all too wide for me. These fit perfectly and I like the mottled colored wool, brown, burgundy, grey mix. They are going to work just fine and look good with jeans, leggings and my bathrobes. Love Zappos - they ship right away, let me know when these were in stock and applied a discount they had given me even though I failed to put in the code. Their customer service reps are truly outstanding.

Size is same as all my euro size shoes. A little tight getting on, but very comfortable with good Arch support and pull to snug at ankle which keeps it from slipping on heel.

I got these to replace a worn out pair of Haflingers. These fit my narrow feet better, and the arch support is very nice. They also look nicer. The outdoor sole is better too. The soles on the old ones pick up everything from the floor. My boyfriend and I both have long hair, so there’s plenty to pick up!

I absolutely loved these for 4 months. Last week, however, the fabric split on the left top - above my big toe. 95% of the time I also have socks on with my slippers. I bought mine from the manufacturer - paid full price and $13 shipping. Do not buy these.

Fit was fine. I'm not used to a slip-on with no heel backing so that took some adjustment. But I purchased these as the only Giesweins available in my larger size. Not what I'd wanted but the quality is high and the arch support helpful. If you like an open-back slipper these are top notch!

This is a good slipper for someone who needs maximum support for their entire foot, and for whom support is more important than comfort. The insole is extremely supportive, but harder than is optimal for a slipper. I have a long, narrow foot, so the pair I bought fit well in the width, but my big toe touched at the end. I didn't think that would be a problem, since the slipper was made out of wool, which stretches, but I didn't immediately realize that the toe was reinforced on the inside with a very strong piece of cloth that doesn't budge. So the slippers never stretched at all in the toe, and they were always a little uncomfortable. I just replaced them with the Giesswein Lunz, which is perfectly comfortable.

I just started wearing these, so I don't know how they'll hold up. But they're extremely comfortable, and with excellent arch support. I have long, narrow feet, but these slippers fit well, and are not too wide. I have a large big toe, and it's close to the end of the slipper, but since it presses against soft wool, I'm comfortable. I have one complaint. There is a loop at the heel of each slipper, to assist in getting the slipper on, so as not to stretch out the heel. But the loop is too small to allow me to insert a finger, so I have to use a pencil, which is kind of a nuisance

I have a very hard time finding slippers (flat feet, fallen arches and a very low volume foot which means I walk out of most slip on shoes or slippers) and was thrilled to find these. Great arch support, and the shoe box is fitted enough for even my llow-to-the-ground feet. Your feet don't get very sweaty (and the insole dries out if you do sweat a little). I love that you can replace the insole down the road. And for a clog style slipper, they're actually pretty sleek looking and go indoors to our easily. For those who think the arch support in these is too much, I would suggest trying them in the morning when your feet aren't tired. I need a LOT of arch support (contrary to what some people write, high arch support isn't for people who already have high arches, they are for people like me who have almost flat feet and/or fallen arches). These felt almost lumpy in the arch when I tried them on in the evening after having unsupportive shoes on for most of the day, but in the morning, they were heaven and even after wearing all day, they feel great. Love them! I hope they keep them around for a while! Or maybe I just need to buy myself some insurance and get a back up pair.

I love these, but as many have indicated, they are roomy and don't want to stay on my feet. A smaller size would not help, but an extra insert would. Too bad zappos does not provide inserts separately. Geisswiein site does have them, but they are sold out in popular sizes. Not worth the bother, Also the wool footbed is very comfortable but my foot slips over it as I walk, making it even more unstable as far as the slipper staying put.

Length was true to size Toe box was shallow and heel was too wide for me. Arch support is good. I tried removing insole and inserting custom orthodic, this made toe box better, but heel then rubbed ankle. Had to return.
