WOW! Zappos really came through after the wrong size (38) was sent to me versus the 39. UPS even delivers on some legal holidays (M. L. King Day). Unfortunately, my Big toe hit the top of the toe box. Nice footbed. Tempeted to try the 40....but it would still have a low toe box height. So disappointed. I really thought this slipper would work since another style of Giesswein fit (Radler: EXCEPT there was too much volume). So......I will keep searching for a "House Slipper" with some support. They might work for you - TRY them.

Best slippers I’ve ever owned! I need arch support but don’t like bulky slippers. I have narrow feet too and can’t (safely) wear slides. These are lightweight yet very warm. The arch support is wonderful and they have non-slip soles. My only complaint is that the toe area on one opened after a year of wear. I easily sewed it closed. Expensive but worth it, imo.

I wanted a slipper that was good for plantar fasciitis as I was told I shouldn't wear regular slippers or go barefoot. After a couple false starts I found these and they fit the bill perfectly. Although I was a little reluctant to pay this much for a slipper I realized I wouldn't think twice about paying this much for shoes and I wear slippers more than shoes through out the day so I ordered them. They work great for around the house and quick runs outside. I especially like the toggle to help tighten or loosen them if I happen to be wearing socks or not. I'm super happy with them and recommend them for anyone who needs arch support.

Amazing house slippers! I needed a slipper that would accommodate hammer toes and bunions. The toe bed in this slipper is very large and high, the tops of my toes do not rub anywhere!! They are perfect. And they accommodate a heel insert I wear in one without having to remove the existing insole. The arch support is superb for anyone with high arches! After receiving these I immediately ordered some other Giessweins that can go outside! I may never wear another brand again!!

I was hoping not to love these since they're more expensive than many slippers, but I've come to realize I have needy feet, and they need something more in a slipper. I am a fan of these shoes, the construction, the great materials, and the comfort. Worth the price! I have high arches and a narrow heel, so these slippers were perfect to address my concerns. The removable insole is actually high enough to touch my arches, which isn't very common for a lot of shoes that claim to have good arch support. I also really like the ability to secure my foot in the slipper. Yes, it means I have to cinch the cord and reach down every time I want to wear them, but I need a secured foot, and can't wear slip-ons or slides. I wear a women's 9, 9 and 1/2, or 10 in various US shoes. I ordered the 10, and they fit well, but I would like to wear thicker socks, so I'm thinking about sizing up to an 11. When standing on the insole outside of the shoe, the insole barely extends beyond my toes, which fits more like a 9 than a 10 for most shoes that I wear. I agree with other reviewers that this runs a half size to a full size smaller than many US sizes. in addition to the great support, there are some details about the construction of the shoe that make this worth the price for me. First there is a thin laminate on the inside of the shoe where the toenails would hit the wool if you weren't wearing any socks. I couldn't feel this laminate with my toes, but when I reached in with my hand I realized its purpose. I had haflinger slippers and wore a hole through the toes within months, so I'm glad to know that this has a better design. The soul is very grippy without being sticky, and the shoe seems really solid.

My feet are size 7.5 and I have always worn other European brands (Dansko, Birkenstock) in size 38. Unfortunately the 38s were a bit too small, and the 39s are a bit too big. I kept the 39s because I really need slippers with arch support for my plantar fasciitis, and the sole seems to be the right size, but the upper part of the shoe is loose. The smaller size just didn't work well with socks and the toe felt a little short.

I chose this pair/style/brand to replace the 2nd pair of Halflingers that fell apart before a year was ended. I have high arches and so do these. I really liked and needed the felted wool of the Halflingers, but the boiled wool of these are just as warm. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we have some real nice Winters. The soles of these are much better than the soles of the Halflingers that did really good in the ice and snow. These actually grip much better and the rubber sole wraps up just high enough to keep my feet away from snow and water. My only 'issue - the back of the shoe seems to 'rotate?' in when I walk. It doesn't seem to cause a problem as the heel just 'slips' right back into place. Am hoping this fixes itself after a week of walking. Other than that they are just as comfortable as the Halflingers. This review after 3 days of wearing.

I tried three different models of Giesswein slippers and two sizes of the vents, but once I "dialed it in" to the right model/size- I am very satisfied. I wear house slippers a fair bit, and the vast majority of slippers I have rejected because of completely inadequate support or flimsy throw-away construction. These feel like they are made custom for me (fairly wide for women's feet and high volume/arch) and I could wear all day without my feet or knees hurting. Although pricey, I feel that they are quality enough to hopefully last long enough the be worth the $. I also like the variety of colors; I ended up with the bright red because they are cheery for the winter (and make me feel slightly gnomish).

I have a high instep, high arch, heel pain, and plantar fasciitis. The Camden is designated as a slipper for high instep and arch. I normally wear a 7.5 or 8, so I ordered a 39. My toes touched the end of the shoe, but the arch support was in exactly the right spot. Because of my high instep, I couldn't get the velcro tight enough to stop the heel from rubbing blisters on my heels. So even though the shoe was too short, it slipped up and down as I walked. I had also bought the Vent in a size 40. It is too large and the arch support doesn't hit in the right spot because my foot slides forward. The heels slip up and down on this pair, but they haven't caused blisters. Even with a high instep, I could easily get my foot in them, and the Vent is not recommended for high instep. I don't know why, because the Vent was much easier to put on compared to the Camden. Giesswein is such an expensive product considering how poorly they fit. I have wide feet and the heels are too wide for me. I don't know why they don't offer half sizes and width sizes, but neither the 39 or the 40 work for me. Giesswein needs to redo their length sizing because it is more important that the arch support be in the right place. No matter which model you get, the base of the shoe are all the same. A 39 Vent will be the same as a 39 Camden so there is no point in me trying a 39 Vent since the 39 Camden us too short. Giesswein needs to rethink their one size fits all theory. The chart said for me to choose 38, 39, or 40 for the length of my foot.

I need the NEXT SIZE! However in a different Gieswein slip on Clog: Radler - a 38 was O.K. This Veitsch is NOT as fully cut (Volume wise) which will be GOOD for me as the other size was much too big! The wool is nice and am looking forward to getting the next size

The color blue is lovely and for that alone I wish I could keep them. The wool upper is nice and soft too and feels like it would last for years. It's the sole and footbed that are too hard for my taste. The Veitsch feels more like a shoe than a slipper and that's what I'm after so these are going back.

So disappointed .... extremely wide....falling off my feet...causes lack of arch support that could be there if they were not so wide. I was too busy over the holiday to deal with all the return nonsense so I think I am stuck with a very expensive slipper that I cannot wear.

I was very pleased with Ammern Classic, but learned that it provides less arch support than the Veitsch models from Geisswein (very much like the Flora and Lampy slippers). Since I have a new case of plantar fasciitis, I decided to return the Ammern and order a second pair of Veitsch. For those who may wonder, even though the Ammern has a center seam, there is absolutely NO rubbing or discomfort from the stitching.

I LOVE these indoor slippers! They are very comfortable, and have a little bit of elastic where the tongue meets the back half of the slipper, so they stay on really well. I got them in black, even though they looked a little "manly" in the picture, but it turns out that they look really cute on women too! Highly recommend!

Contrary to some of the reviews, I found the sizing to be accurate. I wear a size ,6 and occasionally a 6.5 in shoes that run small, so I went ahead and ordered a 37 and a 38. The 37 (similar to american size 6) fit very well. I am exchanging these for the black as I didn't love the color. However, I found these indoor/outdoor shoes to be very comfortable with excellent arch support.

I am extremely pleased with these house shoes. I was looking for slippers 1) with backs and 2) with either good arch support or with removeable insoles so I could use my own. I have plantar fascitis and really need the support, and I have slippery stairs in my house and so need secure slippers with backs. These features were extremely hard to find in a slipper. So I was excited to find these Giessweins. They are expensive, but they are just what I was hoping for. The removeable arch support/insoles are excellent. Although at first they felt a bit hard and rigid, I found that in short order they were quite comfortable. They definitely give me the support I need, so no need to substitute other insoles. I like that there is a toggle tie so you can tighten them up - they feel quite secure on my feet. At the same time, they are easy to slip off, so they function very well as slippers. I use them primarily indoors as slippers, but I like the rubber outsole which is slip resistant (important!) and I can run outside to take out the garbage, for instance, if need be. I find the shoes to be very comfortable. I was mindful of the reviews warning that they run small, so I tried two different sizes, but I found that my normal size fit best. The next size up just felt a bit loose. I love how they look - I think they look a bit "European," i.e., hippie-ish. Maybe not everyone would agree or like that, but I do. They look like quality shoes, (which they are), not trendy. I also think the colors of the wool are quite handsome. All in all, bravo!

After a few months of wear in my home, the stitching came apart and my toes were sticking out of the front. Very disappointed in the quality. The best part were the removable orthotics that could be washed and refreshened. All walking in these shoes was done inside, mostly on carpet but the bottom wore faster than I expected. Not worth the money! I am now searching for a warm house she that lasts at least a season.
