Excellent fit. My poor feet are so sore and I need lots of cushioning between them and my tile floor. I wear with the worlds softest socks. I absolutely love and they are so safe. Worth every penny,

I have been wearing Haflngers as house shoes for years. When my last pair became too decrepit to look at (though still comfortable), I ordered another and discovered, as a number of other reviewers have, that Haflinger has apparently changed their unisex sizing to make their shoes wider; they felt like a men's EEE. Nope, can't do: I have narrow female feet and the clogs I ordered fell off at every step -- both dangerous and uncomfortable. So I returned them and thought I'd try Giessweins, which look similar and have the same German heritage. They're still too wide, but maybe the tiniest bit narrower and, with socks, stay on fairly well, although a deeper heel cup would increase stability. What convinced me to keep them is the excellent arch support, which is firm, comfortable and "hits" in exactly the right place. What nearly caused me to return them was the toe area, which is softer, floppier and less protective against stubs than the thoroughly-felted Haflinger toe. What makes me sad, although I'm keeping them is the sheer ugliness of the shoes. The color and fuzziness make me feel as though I'm wearing some variety of roadkill. (I work with fiber and fabric, and I know that wool felt looks a heck of a lot better with the fuzz sheared off.) Maybe I'll grow to love them as they adjust to my feet. And maybe, by some miracle, shoe manufacturers will learn that men's feet are different from women's, and not try to sell unisex sizes to all.

I am a big fan of the Giesswein clog, wear them at home CONSTANTLY. I thought this would be a good option to wear outside for short errands. The back heel area doesn't stay put, so when I wear them they chafe the back of my heel. Not too comfortable for walking but fine for wearing around the house or down to the mailbox.

I ordered these two sizes smaller than I typically would wear. They fit perfectly and will stretch out even more. I did this because I have experience with this brand and they are really very large for the sizes. The design is extremely cute and I get comments on them all the time!

Super cute, I get comments on them all the time. The flesh tone of the face is a little bit too pale, but I filled it in with a watercolor marker. These are extremely wide! I ordered one size down as I typically do when I buy open back shoes. They are still Very loose and fall off when I am making certain movements with my feet. I ordered another pair of those so I guess I'm a dummy. I ordered the second pair two sizes smaller and the length is just the tiniest bit too short but they will definitely stretch out.

My pilates instructor told me I needed to wear a shoe in the house with excellent support. (I used to go barefoot in the house). She really liked these. I find them very comfortable. I never adjust the bungee - not sure how anyone would. I use the pull tab at the ankle to pull them on. Durable enough sole for heading out to the mailbox. They stay on my foot securely. Expensive, but worth it. Plenty of room in the toe box. I ordered my usual size.

My 3rd pair
Zappos Reviewer on June 07, 2019
I did buy a 1/2 size larger than I wear and had to return for my normal size which is a 9...This is the third pair that I have had and am a huge fan. I've tried other slippers without an arch support and can immediately feel the strain on my legs and back. I'm 83 and comfort is very important to me.

I bought these to replace my Ugg Ainsley moccasins, but ended up returning them because they are a loose fit despite being the right size (the wool is less structured than what I am used to), which wasn't what I was looking for. The flowers are cute, if a little young, and sewn on to last. These are a good choice, if it's what you are looking for. They just didn't work for me.

The pink is a beautiful color and I really wanted to love these slippers...but I had to return them. Although snug to slip in to, the cut of the slipper everywhere BUT right at the point at which you slip in is very loose. They are wide and roomy, and would probably be great if you didn't need to go far or fast. I was looking for a replacement for my Ugg Ainsley moccasins, which I wear all the time. I needed a shoe that was snug and wouldn't slide around when I ran up or down the stairs or moved quickly across the kitchen. Unfortunately, these Giesswein Ammern Classics were not the right shoe for me.

Because I have a narrow foot, I was surprised that these fit great! There is quite a bit of arch support and although I'm an 8.5/9, they're not too long. They're soft, have a nice grip on the bottom (but not too stiff) and are toasty warm and breathable. I really love them and I hope they don't wear out too quickly because I will be wearing them all the time indoors.

I usually order this once a year because I wear them all year long! I love these slippers! They are always a little snug when I first get them but by the time I've worn them that day (Yes! I always put them on as soon as they arrive!) they are perfect! I wear them as soon as I get home, the wool is so comfy and warm, but not too warm in the summer. I used to teach, standing on my feet all day, and now am retired and they're like a warm soft wrap around my tired achy feet! I take them with me when I travel too, I just can't do without them! I do love these shoes! Two down sides - 1. I usually have my little toe wear right through the wool by the years end. 2. I love these souls but I wish the company would add the cute appliques they do to the less souled ones.

Runs small and narrow

I did not like these slippers at all. I could put my custom orthotics in, but the sole of the slipper was completely flexible with no stiffness at all - it was just a piece of rubber. The orthotic feature was useless with the flexible sole. Very disappointing

These slippers are delicious. I ended up needing one size bigger, and they fit perfectly. Giesswein considers these "house shoes", so the thinner sole is ideal for walking around the house without sliding or shuffling. I love these slippers!

I was searching for a house shoe/slipper that would support my foot (I have Metatarsalgia ) while still being cozy for wearing at home. These shoes breathe, the wool feels soft, the soles are supportive (though not cushioned), and I love wearing them!

Excellent arch support. You will have to order these in a half size shorter and narrower, as they are of European sizing, which always runs large for me. I couldn't get a narrower size, and the size I had rubbed on the outside edges, creating a blister. Durable, comfortable other than that.

Started wearing in October 2018, have big holes in both slippers by big toe. Wear about half the week. Doesn't hold up long enough, need to order new slippers after 6 months.

Was hoping to find a pair of slippers that was comfortable and stylish as I work from home and wear them all day long. I liked the color (gray) but not much else. The slipper was too wide (and I have wide feet), there was no cushioning on the footbed and no arch support. At my age I need some "cush" in my slippers and this one did not fit the bill.

Got lucky and discovered these on a sale, paid about $50 less than average. So comfy! I recently took a job where I work from home and I'm wearing these things all day. Suitable for around the house or a quick trip to the store. The only thing I had to wrap my head around was slipping them on, they require a little work to get into but I've gotten used to it and boy is it worth it. Definitely planning on checking out more from Giesswein. Even bought my Mom a pair for Mother's Day.

I have been on the hunt for a support close toe/full back slipper (not a scuff) for months. This is the first slipper that had awesome support, stayed on my feet and were warm. I work from home so I needed a "house shoe" of sorts. What I like is that the sole is a hard bottom, but it's not hard enough that it's loud on hardwood floors. I like that these can be tightened and loosened at the top as well. I wish they were a tad cuter (I bought the plum which was the cutest of all of them) but overall they have the functionality I need.

I read the reviews and ordered a size 40 where I generally order a size 39. The 40 fits perfect. A great feeling slipper

LOVE the color and wool. But absolutely NO support and at this price...you have got to be kidding. Back they go.
Zappos Reviewer on May 13, 2019
Cute slipper but definitely not worth $113. I might buy them at $30 just because they are good looking. But I felt like I was walking barefoot...NO support. Not sure they will last long either. Very disappointing.
