Emerica GAMMA Felt stiff , cheap , very uncomfortable with no cushion and also very pointy shoes which is very weird. Save your money or don’t waste your money.

These shoes are definitely stylish no doubt, and Emerica has been killing the game for so long, so of course I had to try these. The board feel was great, but there are some downsides. It took a super long time to break in these shoes (even after the microwave trick) but they started to feel broken in after a week or so, not really a big deal. But my main issue is with the stitching at the front. Immediately, the shoes gave in after a day of normal flat ground tricks and a huge rip started to show the first few days of hard skating. After around two weeks, the whole ollie/kickflip side of the shoe was torn and the leather was done for. I liked these shoes but wished they lasted longer, especially since i skate a few days a week. 3/5

these were my first cup soled shoes and i loved them so much at first. this shoe is super durable, the flick at the beginning was beautiful, and it looked so so sick. after wearing them down lots, the whole upper material got too slippery and i’ve stuck with the emerica dicksons because they’re never let u down. these shoes went down hill for me but they were good.

I just ordered my third pair of these. The cupsole is responsive enough for good board feel, and supportive enough that my feet don't get sore after a session. They're a little tight widthwise out of the box, but they break in after a few wears. My previous shoes were the Dickson's, which are great shoes, but my feet get too sore wearing vulc shoes due to old injuries. These are great if you like vulc shoes, but are too old to still skate them.

These shoes are horrible. Cheaply made with a really pointy tip and run a half size to big all while being really narrow. They looked cool in the picture, but crap in real life. I am surprised Emerica put these shoes out.

This shoe is so classy it could be considered business casual. Looking forward to testing the durability, but it has the appearance of a well-built shoe for any use. Price is well worth it.

Probably one of the best skate shoes I’ve ever had. Downsides are they’re not true to size unless you have a wide foot. I had a pair before these and decided to get a half size down. Got these for a steal too. So get a half size smaller if you don’t have a wide foot.

The Spanky fits wider and a hair longer then the Figgy Dose, but maby a hair narrower/shorter then the LowVulc (Reynolds). The Pillar fit the longest, and is true to size imo. After sizing up because of my wide foot, the Spanky fit the best. Can't wait to skate these g6 soles, they feel amazing.

Here is a side by side pic of the Emerica Pillar next to the Emerica Low-vulc and the New Balance 379. For me, the Pillar fits about the same as the Low-vulc, maby 1mm longer. Both slightly longer and wider then the New Balance. Narrowness is true to that of typical Emericas. The entire build of the Pillar is like a heavily upgraded Low-vulc. The outsole feels amazing, add to that a thicker g6 insole. Really good cushion. The upper is a mid, and it doesn't feel too thick or constricting. More padding then the others, the Pillar feels very strong, but also flexible and not crazy heavy. Love this shoe.

Here is a side by side pic of the Emerica Low-vulc, New Balance 379, and Nike Janoski RM 2020 (all new size 14s). The Low-vulcs fit widest with more toe room in the end. NBs felt a hair wider then the Nikes, but same length.

They fit fine, honestly I think it's right on point with what I was expecting. Though I bought these to wear as casual substitutes for dress shoes and initially I was a little surprised by how tight they were up on the top of my foot, but then I remembered that they're skate shoes and no one wants them flying off when they're doing tricks, so that actually makes sense. The next time I put them on I didn't even notice it anymore, so I'm pretty stoked on them.

Pros: decent width, good board feel, classic style. Cons: sole wore out a little quickly, flimsy insoles What I like most about these shoes is they are not narrow. I don't have particularly wide feet but it seems like a lot of skate shoes tend to be narrow and these are not… nice and comfy in the toe-box. I ordered my regular size and it was a good fit. For comparison the same size in my last pair of Nike SBs was narrower and 3-4 mm shorter. As for overall comfort, they are comfortable for *skate* shoes… don't expect a cushy sole or a lot of arch support, but they are fine for what they are. The stock insoles are pretty thin and flimsy but livable or easily replaced so no big deal. How they skated… they took a few days of normal wear and maybe an hour of skating in to feel broken in. After that board feel was good, grip was fine, impact protection was minimal but livable. The only knock I have is they started wearing through the sole under the ball of my front foot about a week sooner than usual for me, hence 4 instead of 5 stars overall. The upper is holding up fine, but I don't do flip tricks so your mileage may vary. Overall these are my second favorite shoes I've skated (behind a pair of Footprint shoes). I will keep putting shoe goo on the sole to skate them another month or so, and I would buy them again if I caught them on sale.

The pic shows the Emerica Figgy Dose size 14 next to the same sized Emerica Low-vulc (Reynolds) and New Balance 255. The Figgy felt a hair narrower then the 255s, a mm or two longer, and felt the best while walking as it's a cupsole. The Figgy construction also felt the strongest, with good materials used, and probably best grip. A smaller style shoe compared to the wider and beefy Reynolds low-vulc. This shoe is very nice.
